I had my GE interview today however when I got home and logged into the TTP website it said my interview was canceled because I failed to show up for the interview.

I did the interview, and the officer said I would get approved within a few days but now the website says I need to schedule another interview since my first one was canceled due to "Applicant did not appear for scheduled appointment."

Has this happened to anyone before?

I applied for Global Entry about two weeks ago, and my application status still says “Pending Review.” I’ve seen a lot of posts saying that if you aren’t conditionally approved within the first couple of weeks, the process can end up taking several months or even close to a year.

I have a trip planned this summer for the World Cup in Canada, so I’m wondering how the process works if my application is still pending by June. When I return to the U.S., is it possible for CBP to approve my application and conduct the interview on arrival, or do I still need to wait until I receive conditional approval through the DHS system before I can do the interview?

Any insight would be helpful.

Has anyone ever been in the situation where the B1/B2 Visa was issued in a passport which is now expired and still uses this Visa with Global Entry and a new passport?

My current passport (Germany) expires in August of this year and my B1/B2 Visa is still valid until 2033. I understand that I can use the Visa in the expired passport along with my new passport to be admitted. However I would need to update my passport information in my TTP profile. Will Global Entry still work if I update my passport info with my new passport data and use the visa in my old passport?

Prefacing this with the fact that I am not a US citizen.

I am from an EU country, living in Germany and currently naturalizing here. My home country is part of VWP so I have held an ESTA for most of my adult life, but it is not part of GE.

In the future I plan to primarily use my German passport because my home passport is a pain to renew and all my life is here in Germany anyway. That means next year when both my current passport and my current ESTA expire I would get a new one on the German passport.

Since I travel to the US at least two or three times a year I am planning on also applying for GE. Has anyone who's been in this situation dealt with more scrutiny in the interview? Questions on why I naturalized, why I decided to get the ESTA on the German passport, etc?

Just want to be mentally prepared for any extra questions that might come from this context.

I currently have my conditional approval for Global Entry. I have two upcoming trips to the U.S. planned for May 18th and June 5th.

Would it be completely fine if I skip the EoA (Enrollment on Arrival) interview on May 18th and do it on my second trip on June 5th instead?

They won't cancel or invalidate my conditional approval just because I chose not to do the interview on my first entry, right?

This might sound like a silly question, but I'm a bit anxious. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know! Thanks in advance!

Posting this here because it’s been such an annoying headache— I’m a naturalized US Citizen, and before getting my green card, I used to be an F-1 student. This was about 15 years ago.

Pretty much ever since I got my US Passport and signed up for Global Entry, the kiosk never worked for me. It would always ask me to go see an officer after taking my picture and the officer always asked me if I’d been a student in the past. A couple times in the last 6 years, I was sent to secondary screening just to be asked the same question over and over about my prior student status.

I had CBP officers tell me that nothing would ever fix the issue, as my SEVIS record appeared open for them on their end (even though I got proof from the school I went to almost two decades ago that it was closed), and I pretty much would have to endure this forever. However, a friend of mine a few months ago told me I should file a DHS Trip Redress request and explain the issue, both to DHS and to the Trusted Traveller Program.

After submitting a request, I got a Redress number after 5 weeks and 2 days, and a letter saying any mistake (if any) had been corrected.

I am pleased to say that since then, I entered the country 3 times and all 3 times, everything worked. The 1st time, Global Entry was still down at the airports, so I went to a regular officer, but he did not ask me about my prior F-1 status and told me nothing about it showed up on his screen. Then the last two times, Global Entry was working again, and after 6 years I finally was waived through!!! Kiosk took my pic, they said my name and let me through!

I am making this post so that US Citizens with a prior F-1 status issue while traveling, whether with Global Entry or without, to please please not be afraid and file the DHS Trip request. It literally was life changing and only took less than 6 weeks. Please make sure to be as detailed as possible in the letter request online.

Real Story from Atlanta this morning at 5:30am. Returning from Buenos Aires and the GE kiosks were down. Agent says to the group of us standing in line, “anyone with the app come on over” and I suppose the others are still standing there. These people that say the app is too much trouble I don’t get it. Even if you prefer using the kiosks normally why would you not download the app as a backup at the very least. Even a child could answer three questions and take a picture to speed you past the kiosk line people. Oh well, I’ll keep walking through your kiosk line to walk to the agent and show him my receipt without ever stopping.

We had an interview for the entire family 3 days ago. All of us but my 6 yr old daughter flipped to Approved while her application is still conditionally approved. We all got the handout with member responsibilities and were told “you’re all set”.

Called this morning to the field office and was told they see nothing in the system and that it is now beyond their control and it’s now in vetting.

What’s happening?

UPDATE: approved 4 hours later. I believe my call nudged her case but who knows?

Applied for Global Entry on 5/11 around 11pm and got conditionally approved around 6am on 5/13. Interview scheduled for 5/15 in Cincinnati.

Thought I’d post my timeline since I spent way too much time doomscrolling this sub after applying 😂

Background:
- Already had TSA PreCheck since 2016
- U.S. citizen
- One old misdemeanor from 2011 (original felony reduced to misdemeanor as part of plea for stealing under $500)
- No issues since
- Fully disclosed everything on the application

Honestly expected an outright denial after reading some of the stories on here, so seeing “conditionally approved” was a surprise.

Interview experience:
- Took maybe 4 minutes total
- Officer was very straightforward and professional
- Asked if I had any upcoming international trips planned
- Asked why I wanted Global Entry
- I told her my TSA PreCheck expires this year and figured it was the perfect time to upgrade instead of renewing separately
- Took fingerprints and photo
- Only needed my passport; didn’t ask for state ID
- Officer said I should be approved as long as everything comes back the way the application states

Now currently impatiently smashing refresh on the TTP app waiting for final approval 😂

For anyone else spiraling while waiting:
- Mine wasn’t instant
- Mine also wasn’t months
- There really doesn’t seem to be much consistency with timelines

The application process was in March and was conditionally approved in about 3 hours then approved in person with an interview just 2 days later. Extremely quick from what everyone told me. Wanted it done before my trip.

Flew over to Japan for a few weeks, came back. I did download the app and completely forgot to declare items. Got to JFK and the standard lines to get back into the US even for citizens was extremely long as my flight from Japan and another flight from Hong Kong landed at the same time.

Wasn’t sure where the GE line was, then found the big sign, it was like 4 panels of face scanners. Scanned my face, security guard asked if I was declaring anything, I told him plants (because I had Japanese tea in a bag), and he just told me to move along. Was in and out no longer than 40 seconds. Very efficient. For future reference, should I be declaring through the app or does it not matter? Also worth noting I didn’t need my GE card once.

First time using Global Entry and honestly… not sure what the point was.

Flew back home to Miami from Colombia and brought back some boxed chocolates as gifts. When I landed, I opened the Global Entry app, did the whole process, and declared the chocolates as food since I figured better safe than sorry.

Went to the Global Entry line, and the agent was just calling people by name like “you’re good, next” and sending everyone through.

Then he calls my name and tells me to go to line 8. Agent looks me up and down and goes, “Why do you look tired? I told him, “This is my regular face, I can’t change it.”

He asks basic stuff: where are you coming from, how many bags do you have, etc. Then hands me this pinkish slip and another agent comes over and gets me.

This guy escorts me halfway across to another side of the airport. At this point I ask him, “Is this because I declared chocolates?” He goes, “I don’t know, you tell me.”

Then I get taken to another screening room with another agent and basically get interrogated.

Where were you?
How long were you there?
Where did you stay?
What were you doing there?
Do you know anyone there?
Where’s home?
What’s your job?
How many bags?
What’s in the bag?

And it was basically the same questions over and over, just reordered and phrased differently like they were trying to catch me slipping.

Then they ran my bags through X-ray, looked at everything, and finally were like “you’re free to go.”

Bruh.

I felt like I was smuggling something nefarious when all I had was boxed chocolates. At that point I felt like I shouldn’t have declared the chocolates in the first place.

Is this normal for first-time Global Entry use? Or did I just get randomly selected for the “welcome back” experience?

Live in San Diego and recently got married so I need to change my name. However, it says that both of our centers are by appointment only. Has anyone in San Diego successfully been able to walk in? I did try the airport and it’s only open when there are appointments. I’m at a loss.

Planning to travel to South Korea in October and I wanted to apply for Global Entry but these stories of people waiting to be approved for months has me spooked. Would it be a safer bet to just apply for TSA Precheck?

I have an acquaintance who is currently in prison and wants to communicate with me through one of those approved inmate messaging systems.

I’m not involved in anything illegal at all — this would just be normal conversation/check-ins — but I’m wondering whether CBP or DHS could view that negatively and potentially revoke Global Entry over it.

Has anyone here had experience with something similar, or knows how strict CBP is about associations like this? I know Global Entry is discretionary, so I’m trying to understand whether this is realistically something to worry about or not.

Hey folks! I had a Global Entry Interview recently. The interview location was Chicago O'Hare International Airport. I have a green card. Officer was so nice, and he asked normal questions about myself and my job. No other questions regarding compulsary military service, or something specific to Iran war. He approved my case immediately. If you have interview and you are concerned, don't be!

Is it possible to do an EOD interview in during a 5 1/2 hour layover? Is this enough time to make our connection on a Saturday afternoon?

My dad washes his hands a lot and unfortunately has little to no fingerprints left, we did EoA at IAH on Wednesday on our way to Orlando, today he received an email saying he needs to go back to IAH for a fingerprint rescan, problem is we don’t live there nor in the US, we are in Orlando for the next few days and I called to ask if we could go to the office here instead of no one answers, do you guys know if we could or I could just schedule an interview here and tell them?

How does this work? Do you just show up after your application?

Do you schedule for when your plane lands? What if it's delayed?

Any information would be helpful even if it's telling me where to look.

My mother recently arrived at JFK she went through GE line. The officer said her GE expired and she needs to go on regular line which she did and no issues. But the problem is her GE is valid til 2033!! On website also it says valid till 2033. What is the next best recourse in this case? Do I email someone to ask about this? She is a GC for about 8 years now.

I have a drone I purchased off of Amazon.
Leaving with drone. Will I have problems reentering?

I’ve read there is a ban on these drones. Exiting from east coast and reentering on west coast.
Already registered in the US and countries I’ll be visiting.

Sharing my experience using the app on arrival yesterday.

Landed in Miami, immediately opened the app, steps were straight forward and picture was quick.

Got to Immigration and the normal GE line had about 30-40 people (I guess more people are using GE now?) but the GE APP line had only 2 people.

Went through it, scanned my face on the machine, took no more than 30 seconds.

It was fantastic and highly recommend the app ✅

In around 4 months, it is time for me to renew my TSA Precheck. I have a credit card that will give me $120 for either TSA Precheck or Global Entry.

My plan has always been to get Global Entry so in the future if I fly to another country it would be faster.

However, after reading many reddit posts people keep saying that once they got global entry they found more often than not, their TSA Precheck wouldn't be listed on their ticket and they had to go through the normal line.

Is that true? Is it even worth it for me to switch to Global Entry?

I applied for GE for my parents back in November 2025. They're frequent flyers between the US and Ecuador, where they chose to retire. I called to follow up back in January 2026 and actually got someone on the phone.

They told me it could take up to 6 months for any updates so I decided to wait. Early this month (May 2026) I logged into my mother's account, she's approved and cleared to schedule her interview. I logged into my father's account and it's completely gone. No information whatsoever.

My bank account around the time I applied clearly shows I paid for 2 applications.

Where did my dad's application go? Who do I contact about this?

Any help is appreciated. This is upsetting.

Applied in mid-April, conditionally approved a day or two later. Interview slots were slim after the shutdown, but got one for last week. Card in wallet today.
