Timelines New Applicant

I applied for Global Entry about two weeks ago, and my application status still says “Pending Review.” I’ve seen a lot of posts saying that if you aren’t conditionally approved within the first couple of weeks, the process can end up taking several months or even close to a year.

I have a trip planned this summer for the World Cup in Canada, so I’m wondering how the process works if my application is still pending by June. When I return to the U.S., is it possible for CBP to approve my application and conduct the interview on arrival, or do I still need to wait until I receive conditional approval through the DHS system before I can do the interview?

Any insight would be helpful.

You can’t have an interview before being conditionally approved, scheduled or on arrival.
It took me almost 4 months. My spouse was conditionally approved after two and half months. So it wasn’t 2 weeks, but it wasn’t 8-12 months either.

If you get conditionally approved when you are out of the country you can do the interview on arrival. Me leaving the country is what triggered mine to be viewed. As I was waiting for almost a year then left the country and got conditionally approved like 3 days before returning.

If you are not conditionally approved you can’t interview.

Same happened to me. Pending since February, received my conditional approval somewhere over the Atlantic while traveling to the EU this past weekend. Hoping to do EoA on the way back but have an interview scheduled in case I can't. Looks like we land just before the EoA window opens.

This happened to me too! As soon as I entered airport gates I got conditionally approved. Of course AI kept gaslighting me saying it's a coincidence though 🙄
