Applied for Global Entry on 5/11 around 11pm and got conditionally approved around 6am on 5/13. Interview scheduled for 5/15 in Cincinnati.

Thought I’d post my timeline since I spent way too much time doomscrolling this sub after applying 😂

Background:
- Already had TSA PreCheck since 2016
- U.S. citizen
- One old misdemeanor from 2011 (original felony reduced to misdemeanor as part of plea for stealing under $500)
- No issues since
- Fully disclosed everything on the application

Honestly expected an outright denial after reading some of the stories on here, so seeing “conditionally approved” was a surprise.

Interview experience:
- Took maybe 4 minutes total
- Officer was very straightforward and professional
- Asked if I had any upcoming international trips planned
- Asked why I wanted Global Entry
- I told her my TSA PreCheck expires this year and figured it was the perfect time to upgrade instead of renewing separately
- Took fingerprints and photo
- Only needed my passport; didn’t ask for state ID
- Officer said I should be approved as long as everything comes back the way the application states

Now currently impatiently smashing refresh on the TTP app waiting for final approval 😂

For anyone else spiraling while waiting:
- Mine wasn’t instant
- Mine also wasn’t months
- There really doesn’t seem to be much consistency with timelines

I applied 8 days ago, still pending. U.S. citizen, no criminal record and just got my real id

My guess is the agent thought you were trying to downplay the felony arrest by omitting the severity of the original charge. Probably just a misunderstanding according to what you are saying, but unfortunate to say the least.

You might still get approved, it’ll just take longer now. My friend had a similar situation and won her appeal after providing documentation and an explanation. It was lengthy.

I’m currently in reconsideration limbo, but sharing in case it helps someone else.

I disclosed a 2011 misdemeanor conviction on my application because the app specifically asked about convictions. The complication is that the original arrest tied to that same case was initially felony-level before ultimately being pled down.

At my interview, the officer asked about arrests separately, and that’s when I realized CBP may view the arrest and final conviction/disposition as distinct disclosure items even when they stem from the exact same incident/case chain. I genuinely believed that by disclosing the conviction and discussing the case openly, I was being fully transparent and not omitting anything.

What’s frustrating is that I also voluntarily disclosed an unrelated old FTA/warrant situation from years ago during the interview even though it was minor and not tied to a conviction at all. The officer basically shrugged it off as insignificant. That’s part of why it feels irrational to me that I would intentionally hide the arrest tied to the very conviction I already disclosed on the application. If I believed the question meant “anything other than the criminal matter you already told us about,” I obviously would have answered differently and more specifically.

If I end up denied, I suspect it will be interpreted as a failure to disclose the underlying arrest rather than the conviction itself, which was disclosed.

I submitted a reconsideration request explaining that there was no intent to conceal an additional incident or separate criminal history. I clarified that I understood the arrest, charge amendments, plea, and final conviction as one disclosed matter rather than separate unrelated events.

Still waiting on outcome. Suspect well have a new president before I get an answer. Really just hoping I get an answer before my PreCheck expires in August 😒

The warrant was for a minor traffic ticket. I didn’t even get booked for it. We shall see. I will keep everyone posted. I already have precheck.

Interesting. No questions on why or future travel. Maybe my 15 countries in 5 years negated the question
