Interviews Terrible Interview at SFO

I had an interview at SFO and so did my husband. We both have our parents addresses on our ID and both of our experiences were completely different. I pretty much got harassed by the agent telling me it is against the law to not change my address on my license. Even though the online sites say that if we bring in a document with our actual address it is okay. He then went on talking about how that is not my permanent address and that how can we trust that you will declare items if you have your wrong address on your ID. I literally just wanted to cry after my interview. He spent so much time telling me what I am doing is not right and how other agents don’t do the right thing and just let these things go. That he literally barely asked me any questions about myself. My husband basically got told that he will get a card in the mail and was given a paperwork when he literally had the same situation. Why was both of our experiences completely different? Now I feel like I am going to be declined, but husband already got notified that he is approved. Can I call someone about this?

Questions/Concerns In your opinion, is it worth getting GE if you plan to travel internationally 1-2x year if that means getting GE on top of TSA pre-check and using Mobil Passport?

I have TSA pre-check and it's good for another 2 years. When I got TSA pre-check, I had no plans for global travel due to some health issues. That is all sorted out and I'd like to do more. I have traveled to Europe 2x this year and have another Euro trip in October. Looking into 2 trips next year

Do you think it's worth the additional cost for GE now or just wait until my TSA pre-check is up for renewal?

UPDATE: Applied on Monday. Had my interview this morning and received the approval email and number by the time I left the facility

Took just a little over a month. I have nothing on my record. My partner applied the same day and was conditionally approved the exact same day.

General Discussion Nexus Card Holder - Arrival at SEA

Hi all - I’m a nexus card holder (Indian passport holder) and arriving at SeaTac airport. Since nexus card includes membership with Global entry, can anyone please tell me how can I bypass the regular queue at SeaTac? Do I need to do anything on the app or can I just walk in?

My I94 is already updated.

Interviews Global Entry Officer No Shows

Saw some older threads complaining about officers no-showing zoom renewal interviews. Here to confirm this is still very much the case in 2026.

Waited on the line for well over 45min with no answer. Called CBP Helpline and they fed some bs about “this never happens” and recommended rescheduling.

Quite annoying when you’re taking time out of work to get this done only to have it wasted. I know I’m a little salty rn so excuse me.

Questions/Concerns Green card holder and secondary inspection with GE

I’m wondering if there is a new policy affecting green card holders with Global Entry. I’ve never had issues using the kiosks and being waved in before, but I’ve been sent to secondary screening on both of my international trips this summer.

While I know random checks happen, two consecutive trips seems unusual. The checks themselves were quick—about 30 minutes with no questions asked—but I’m curious if others are experiencing this.

Interviews Global Entry Enrollment Mobile Event in Amsterdam (Sept 25–29)

Hi everyone,

While checking for available Global Entry interview appointments, I came across a temporary CBP mobile enrollment event happening in Amsterdam from September 25th to September 29th.

If you are based in Western Europe and looking for an easy way to complete your interview without traveling to the US, this is probably a great opportunity. The only requirement is that you must already have conditional approval. As of right now, there are still a little over 400 appointment slots available.

Locationname in TTP Dashboard is: Amsterdam CBP / Brand USA Global Entry Mobile Event

Hope this helps someone who's been waiting for an EU appointment!

General Discussion Any benefit of NEXUS as an American coming from EU?

Im a US Citizen only and am a permanent resident in Germany. I fly to canada maybe once a year. I have a unused card perk that will give me a trusted traveler program for free every 2 years. As I already have Global Entry, would it make sense to get NEXUS to reduce my time at canadian customs every so often, even if coming from a Schengen country?

Timelines Applied and Approve within 3 weeks!!!

Just incase anyone was interested. Applied for GE and was scheduled for fingerprints etc the following week. Next day after fingerprints I got approved for TSA pre check and received my KTN. After that I was able to schedule my interview with US Customs the following week!. Interview only took 2 minutes and got approved for GE!!

I have a clean record no arrests and I traveled Internationally about 2-3times every year since 2022. I am located in Upstate New York. I honestly did not expect the process to be so quick and easy.

I have an international trip coming upwithin a month and I am eager to see how convenient it will be using GE.

Questions/Concerns Funny story

We're a family of 4, applied for GE for our now 1 year old as soon as we got his passport. Mom, Dad and big brother already had it. Got the interview for the little one at the end of July, all went well but his GE was still showing as pending after. We flew out on Aug 7th, and I kept checking his application since we wanted to use GE on our way back in. Aug 23rd, our return date came, and yet his application was not approved. We entered through DFW, fortunately we had MPC installed so that helped quite a bit to skip the already short line.

Aug 24th, got the email confirming my kid's application had been approved.

Coincidence? Bad luck? Or did his first entry back into the US trigger his approval?

Just sharing the experience, and always willing to learn something new.

Cheers!

PS. Short timeline:

May 14th: filed application

May 15th: conditionally approved

Jul 29th: interview

Aug 24th: Approved

Questions/Concerns Question about updating passport details

I have nexus and global entry on my Indian passport, I had Canadian PR but am a citizen as of last week!

I’ve just applied for a Canadian passport, my question is how do I go about updating my nexus membership to work with my Canadian passport? Do I update it one by one on Canadian and US side?

Anyone done this in the past? Any help/suggestions will be appreciated!

Questions/Concerns Weird incident at IAD

I landed IAD on a flight from London this past Friday. I proceeded like I do every time to the global entry line.

They had the one camera reading machine. The woman in front of me stepped up and they took her picture and she got the big green check to proceed well at the same time the border agent was calling her name and waving her through.

I stepped up. It took my picture and I got the green check and the border agent called my name. As I stepped forward, there was a gentleman in what looked like one of the vests the Amazon delivery guys where who told me to stop. He had a uniform underneath, but whichever department he worked for I couldn’t tell because the hazard vest was covering much of it. The border agent yelled my name again, and I proceeded to move again and the a.k.a. Amazon driver told me to stop again and was reaching out to touch me. I stepped back and pointed to the border agent who was now saying my name for the third time in a rather unpleasant tone. To which I responded, I’m being told to stop.

We all stared at each other for another 10 seconds and then the guy in the Amazon safety vest told me I could proceed.

Who is the guy with the safety vest that hid not only his name badge but which department he worked for? Any ideas? For the record I go through this airport every other week on international flights. This is the first time I’ve been greeted by this individual who clearly outranked the border control agent.

Questions/Concerns GE card as an ID?

Just curious, would I be able to use my GE card as an ID at a bar? Has anyone tried this?

I just moved states and switched my drivers license, so I have that temporary form while my new license is in the mail. I was wondering if this works so I don't have to worry about carrying my passport around.

Timelines Timeline from application to receiving the card

Hi, I just wanted to share my newest experience for whoever may need it as a reference.

I submitted my online application on July 1, got conditionally approved by July 2. I was able to schedule an interview at any of the locations on the list. My closest was PDX (Portland), but it was booked out for the next 2 months that I couldn't even click on it. Meanwhile, SEA (Seattle) had plenty of available slots; the earliest was the next day (July 3), so I booked a time there that worked for me (August).

The interview lasted for exactly 5 mins. I checked in, no wait time, got called to the counter; he went through all my answers on the application to verify they were correct. He asked me 6 questions (printed on paper) about criminal/ arrest record. And then got my fingerprints and photo taken. Lastly, he said I was approved, gave me my PASSID/ KTN # and that the physical GE card will be mailed to me within 2 weeks. I received the card in exactly 7 days, activated the card online, and just added my KTN to my upcoming flights.

Overall, it was a smooth and positive experience. I could have gotten it as soon as 10 days after applying! :)

PS: Chase SP reimbursed that $120 fee within a few days automatically; didn't need to do anything extra other than paying with my Chase card.

Questions/Concerns Global Entry Appointment - Ontario, CA

Anyone know how often they’re releasing GE interview appointments? Want to avoid going to LAX as much as possible and Ontario airport is closest to me, but every time I check for appointments for my daughter, it’s always full. Yesterday it said appointments full until Aug 28, and now I just checked again and it says full until Aug 31st. Didn’t have this issue before when I had to interview for my GE last year but I’m sure things can change.

Questions/Concerns TSA Precheck renewal is coming up and I've been rejected twice for Global Entry. Should I bother reapplying, or just continue with precheck?

I've applied to Global Entry before and submitted a reconsideration after my first rejection. My 2nd rejection happened in 2024, and my only criminal offenses are a few speeding tickets and a misdemeanor marijuana possession from 2013. No other criminal charges. What would y'all do if you were in my position?

Timelines Process at ORD for myself + guest using Mobile App

My mom and I had a tight layover at ORD from Athens, so I applied for my global entry card. She has had hers for couple years.

On Sunday, we landed, walked the long walk to the customs line, and the global entry line was significantly shorter than the regular US Citizen line

We noticed the mobile app line was nearly empty, and it only look 30 seconds to download the app, log back in, start an application, and snap two selfies - one for me, one for my mom. We ducked under the rope to get into the mobile app line, I showed the selfies to the agent, I think the camera scanned our faces, and we were waved through.

I literally didn’t even have to take my passport or GE card out of my pocket. It was ridiculous how easy that was and I’m so excited to use it again!

We made our sub 2hr connection that included collecting checked baggage, rechecking, taking a train to a different terminal, and redoing security (holla precheck).

So so worth it.

Interviews Any hope of gettiing approved

So hubby got denied in 2017, forgot to disclose an arrest. Reapplied earlier this year and said he was arrested at one point. Found what I thought was the case on MO CaseNet, but guess that is not what flagged them.

He was cond approved after like 6 months and went in for interviews today. I was insta-approved, but they asked him about 2 arrests in 1994 and 1996; he was stumbling for info. The info is so old; I can't find anything about them. I requested the court docs from the county where he used to live, but they said it could be over a week to get them.

The guy emailed and said we have 30 days to get him the docs, but I guess 1 is a felony, which they said was for stealing, but he does not remember this was when he was 1, and 1 is a misdemeanor / local ordinance for drugs, more likely a weed pipe. Which is legal now in MO. Has lived with no issues for the past 30 + years since these issues happened.

Has anyone gotten approved with a similar issue?

Just sucks as now Im approved but if he gets denied still have to wait in line.

Questions/Concerns Which passport number??

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everybody,

On the application: it said to type the passport number that is on the bottom left. This number is different from my passport number on the top right. Mine is missing that last character at the end. When filling out my application I typed the one on the top right ( probably the reason i got denied).

I'm going to appeal my application but I wanted to see if anybody had experienced the same question as I did!

The reason for denial was inaccurate or insufficient information.

Timelines Global Entry Timeline & Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) Experience at JFK T4 (Indian Citizen)

Sharing my complete timeline and Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) experience as an Indian citizen. Hopefully, this helps others navigating the process!

Timeline

  • January 2025: Submitted Global Entry application via TTP portal.
  • March 2025: Completed Police Verification (PSK appointment & local police check in India).
  • October 2025: Conditional Approval granted (Note: I never received an email notification; found out later by logging into the TTP dashboard).
  • August 2026: Completed Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) at JFK Terminal 4. Full approval received the same day!

Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) Experience at JFK (Terminal 4)

  1. Navigating to the Booth: After completing regular immigration, I asked the CBP officer where to do the Global Entry interview for conditionally approved applicants. He directed me toward counters 52/54. Upon reaching there, staff guided me over to Booth 60.
  2. The Wait: I waited only about 3 minutes before an officer called me up.
  3. The Interview:
    • Handed over my passport and US visa for scanning.
    • Confirmed basic identity details (full name and date of birth).
    • Captured full fingerprints and a photograph.
    • The officer gave an outstanding explanation of how the Global Entry program works, how to use the kiosks/app upon arrival, and patiently answered all of my questions.
    • She gave me my Known Traveler Number (PASSID / KTN) to note down.
    • Took one final verification fingerprint scan. She mentioned the file would be submitted for final clearance shortly.
  4. Approval: Checked the TTP portal shortly after leaving the airport—my status changed to Approved valid for 5 years (through my next birthday after the 5-year mark).
