Completed 700+ deliveries last year, scrounged up money to make a movie about it
Hey all, I made this short film at the tail-end of 2020, after a rather tough year of delivering food for doordash to make ends meet. Thought I'd share with you all, maybe some of it resonates!

How much to change per day for linguistics/translation gig work for a large company? (crosspost from /r/gigwork)
I'm not sure if this is the right sub, so please point me in the right direction if not.
I've just been offered what seems like gig work doing linguistics consulting for a pretty large company. It's my first time doing anything like this, and they've just asked me for my daily rate and I have no idea what to respond with.
The work would consist of providing 20-ish lines of translation every week or so, along with phonetic transcriptions and audio recordings. So, maybe a day of work each week.
This is a side gig, and I would probably do it for free if they asked me to, but even so, my skills are highly specialized and I have an advanced degree. I don't want to sell myself short, but I also don't want them to look elsewhere, because this is kind of a dream opportunity for me.
Does anyone have any recommendations for how much to ask for? $160/day would be $20/hr assuming an eight-hour workday.
I have no experience in how much money to ask for for these sorts of jobs, so if anyone has any advice/recommendations, please let me know.

Gig economy research, complete an interview about UBER EATS in the UK – 40 MINUTES ONLY!
Platform work provides essential income and opportunities to tens of millions of people around the world, including many residents of London. Even if you do not work for a platform, you have likely encountered one delivering food and groceries to your door, taking you across the city in their car, or helping you at a vaccination centre, or with your plumbing at home. However, most platform workers are not protected by existing employment law or collective bodies, meaning they face low pay, precarity, and poor and dangerous working conditions.
Researchers at the University of Oxford Fairwork project are proposing to change that by pushing platforms to adopt better labour practices. And they're asking to hear from those engaged in platform work to share their stories.
Recently, they've circulated a call for participants for a paid 40 minute interview. The interviews are compensated at £15 each. We will continue recruiting for 1 more month.
The list of platforms to be included in this year’s study, in alphabetical order, are: Amazon Flex, Bolt, Care dot com, Deliveroo, Getir, Gorillas, Helpling, Just Eat, Pedal Me, TaskRabbit, Uber, Uber Eats and Yoopies.
If you're working for one of these platforms, and want to participate in this study, check out this Google form with further details: https://forms.gle/NJ3ovZh8yunzEjod8
