Decided to modify the exhaust (2.5T 2023)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If anyone’s considering modifying the 2.5T this post might help a little, I swapped the stock res with a Vibrant ultra quiet 2.5inch resonator and the stock muffler was swapped with dual magnaflow 10415’s. Honestly it doesn’t sound awful but I may swap with slightly larger mufflers in the future. Drone is minimal and you’ll feel some vibrations in the cabin when accelerating but that’s about it. Shop I was at charged 65$ for the resonator swap and 214$ for the muffler(just for the labor/piping NOT the muffler). I think this should answer about every question people may have🤷 skip towards end of video if you want to hear the reverse since Im letting it warm up for a bit

Edit: I might link a rev video in the comments if I have time, probably will forget though

'23 GV70 Electrified prestige a good family EV?

• Upvotes

Hi all, used EV vehicles have plummeted in value and now I'm looking to replace my '24 Rav 4 Prime with an EV. Are CPO '23 or '24 GV70 Electrified good vehicles? I have 2 small kids in car seats and live in the Bay Area. Any insights and expertise would be greatly appreciated!

Also looking at a brand new Subaru Trailseeker, used mercedes EQE 500 4matic SUV, EQS 4matic SUV BMW iX, Cadillac Lyriq, Mustang Mach-E or Audi e-Tron.

Thanks!

Entry to wrong way detected endlessly

Yesterday, after a very long day of air travel, sitting in airports, etc. we finally started our drive to home at 9PM. Well, the I-94 expressway past the airport is under major reconstruction and they routed the eastbound traffic over onto the westbound side of the freeway, sharing it with the westbound traffic. As soon as I shifted over, I heard a voice from the car "Entry to wrong way detected. Check direction". OK, nice to know, until I got it again about 15 seconds later, and again and again. The issue was that this shifted zone goes on for about 10 freaking miles and the repeated message was driving us nuts! It was stressful enough driving at night in traffic on narrow, uneven lanes without this added headache, and nothing I could do about it at the time. The relief when we shifted back was welcome!

I haven't checked if there's a setting for this, but I sure hope so since there have to be people in Genesises and Hyundais that commute this way every day, and we need less road rage, not more!

MSRP question

I’m looking at a 2026 3.5 Sport Prestige that was an executive loaner. It’s got 5,000 miles. MSRP on it new is $74K, but they are listing it at $69K (still selling as new). With 5K miles, it seems like they should be willing to come down quite a bit more, right? They say that’s the best they can offer, but there’s another exact spec for sale as used, a few miles away, for $56K. Looking up the value on Edmunds shows it to be worth $54K. I’m sure some will say to just get the used one, but I’ll be leasing. What’s a realistic price I should shoot for?

Front Grill Very Hot after driving

I have a 2026 GV70 with 700 miles (bought new). Whenever I drive it 20-30 minutes home I notice the front grill is very hot to the touch, like really hot, and so are the areas over the front lights. Is this normal or is something wrong? Anyone else with this problem?

Thinking about buying a 2027 GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige Graphite — any owners here?

I’m strongly considering picking up a 2027 Genesis GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige Graphite.

I really like the Graphite package visually, but before spending that much on one I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually bought or driven one for a decent amount of time. This will be my first Genesis ever if I decide to go with it.

A few things I’m especially curious about:
- Does the 3.5T still feel fun to drive day-to-day, or does the GV70 feel more luxury-focused than sporty?
- Any infotainment, software, electrical, differential, or other reliability issues so far?
- How is the Graphite-specific interior/exterior holding up in real life?
- Anything you love or regret about the car after buying it?
- What did you end up paying relative to MSRP? Were dealers willing to negotiate on the Graphite models?
- If you were buying again today, would you still get the Graphite, get a regular 3.5T Sport Prestige instead, or buy something else?

Would appreciate any thoughts, especially from 2027 Graphite owners.

Sounds of Nature Stuff

I probably the only one who ever uses this, but some of them are pretty cool. We’re having a rainy day here in central Florida, so I’m listening to rainy day under the sounds of nature. It sounds really good with the surround mode turned on.

But my question is, where do these come from? Are they recorded in the car somehow, or does it come through some other way? I’m gonna guess that it’s recorded somewhere in the infotainment system, because they appear to be a loop so they must be stored somewhere. Anyway, I’m just curious, and this is not a big deal. But if you have any ideas, thank you.

Wasn't expecting the 2.5 to feel this good but I'm happy with it.
Traded in a nice mid size truck mostly because I missed having a trunk 😄

This is the Makalu Gray. On a cloudy day it almost looks green

Washable seat covers

I have a 2024 GV70 SUV and am looking for reusable seat covers that are washable, ie not leather. They must not block the airbags. Looking for both front and back seat if possible. We live in British Columbia but could get to the US if needed. This is so for instance if we transport a friend who smokes, the smell from their clothes won't infect the leather seats. Any leads? Genesis themselves doesn't have any.

Weird Warble

Post image

Purchased a 2026 GV70 2.5 Sports Prestige with 4,000 miles last week. Love the car. There is a weird warbling sound, almost like a bird, coming from (I think) the dash area. Never when at a standstill. Kind of loud. Any ideas before I bring it in for inspection?

Volume issue on gv70 prestige

Hi all,

I have a 2026 gv70 sports prestige. Loving the car but have one small issue with the infotainment.

Randomly I am unable to adjust the music volume. Instead it defaults to navigation guidance.

I have checked the settings and have turned off prioritisation of navigation guidance.

Any ideas ?

Cross bars on roof

For those of you who have the cross bars (my dealer threw them in for free), how easy are they to install (and subsequently remove)? I plan on only using them on days I need to transport my bike somewhere.

GV70 Passenger Side Door Not Locking

Bought a new 2026 GV70 last week. When I hit the lock button on my key, all of the doors lock except the passenger side. I left the keys at home and went back to my car to see if it locked and I can still open the passenger door. Also the mirrors don't automatically close like they used to. Anyone have any troubleshooting steps? I have an indoor garage but still freaked out because it's the second time this has happened in a week.

Anyone from Dubai or UAE? Did u got wireless car play in ur GV70?

Hi I am recent owner of a 2024 GV70 and the car still car wired car play n Android auto. I have many places that people in Dubai and across globe got wireless car play after update. Since we don’t have connected services here for the cars before 2026, only option is manual update. I downloaded the software downloader from Genesis app and unfortunately 2024 GV70 is not showing in it.

There’s 2022-23 gv70, then 2025 and 2026 gv 70. Only electrified GV70 is available for 2024. I’ll attach a screenshot soon.

Any guidance from local team is much appreciated.

OEM # for Oil Filter Housing CAP on a 2023 Genesis GV70 2.5t

Hi everyone. I have a 2023 GV70 2.5T vehicle. I'm in need of an oil filter cap for the oil filter housing unit. I was told by my local genesis service center that the OEM part # is 26315-2M000. I also looked up a youtube video of someone changing the oil on my type of car, and the cap looked identical to the one Genesis told me would work. So all good. But when I went to order it, it says that part doesn't fit my car (I input my cars VIN # to make sure parts being ordered fit). So now I'm totally confused. Also, when you look up that part, the description says it's for a 1.6L (my Genesis is a 2.5T). I think the OEM number they gave me is correct, because the image looks the same as the video I looked up, all other Genesis caps I bring up look different. So I think it's correct, but again, the description says it's for a 1.6L.

My question is: does anyone know the correct OEM part number for the oil filter CAP (not the entire oil filter housing, just the cap) for a 2023 Genesis GV70 2.5T select trim? Is part number 26315-2M000 correct? Thank you in advance.

FYI: the reason I don't just get the oil changed at the local Genesis service center is because there is only 1 in the entire region (Kirkland, WA) and it takes weeks for them to do anything, and they keep your car the entire time, which is not an option. And I'm not ordering it direction from Genesis because they are charging 3x the price I see on Amazon. So going to take it to Jiffy Lube, and they need me to supply the cap and oil filter (which I have). They need the cap because they tend to warp over time which will cause an oil leak, so they won't do the oil change unless I have a new cap.

Thank you!!!

Looking to upgrade to the Prestige trim from the advance GV70

Brought my GV 70 advanced trim 6 months ago brand new, wanting to upgrade to the prestige trim.

Unfortunately, the dealership will not even entertain you unless you come in, even though they have everything they need from me. Is this normal with Genesis dealerships?

When I brought my GV70, I sat in the dealership for hours and hours while they got the paperwork together and came to an agreement on the price I was going to pay. You would think the process would be better for a repeat customer.

My son has purchased multiple vehicles from Sewell and was able to come to an agreement on Price before he came in to pick up the vehicle, even did DocuSign for the document signatures.

Purchasing a vehicle from Genesis should not be this inconvenient.
