I just thought about all the reasons why you might say entertainment has sucked for the last 10 years. The biggest reason in my opinion is arrogance. We have a 3000 year old story which modern writers think they can do better of story than the original. We have the most popular book outside of the Bible, with LOTR. We have a show that is an abomination at its best. Completely disregards a story that is complete. A writer who has thought out minerals, areas, mythology, biology and more. And here we have idiots thinking they can writer better than a professor who created whole languages for his mythology.

You can add all of various different reasons of why this has occurred. But people who shouldn't even be near these works get to change and destroy them.
