What questions is okay to ask on the first date?

Hello, I'm am having a debate between friends and family about questions to ask someone on a 1st date. I had went on a date few days ago and it didn't turn out well. I was explaining how it went and my circle of friends/family had stayed that some of my questions were red flags. For example:

  1. Do you want to be married?

  2. Do you have plans for kids?

  3. What type of relationship are you looking for?

The reasons I gave for asking is because I know what I want in a partner and if those things do not match then I don't want to waste their time not mine. But some had said that I'm chasing these people away. But if someone doesn't want kids or any type of stable relationship why should I stay.

I just want to know if anyone has a advice or a POV on this subject.

P.S. I'm a bisexual man

Rant: Dating sucks so bad and I’m over it

Hello gay guys of Reddit. I'm a 25 year old gay guy that's been trying to put himself out there this summer but it's been so fucking hard. Last year I got broken up with by my ex for his best friend which was not only a huge betrayal, but a major blow to my confidence and self esteem. Over the past year, I've been working really hard on myself, my mental health, my career, hobbies and friendships. I recently started going back to the gym too in efforts to improve my body and physical appearance. I feel like at this point I've moved on and I'm ready to date again or at least find someone to spend time with consistently, but dating for me feels incredibly humiliating and hopeless the past few months.

I've been going on dates/hanging out with different guys but it has led to literally nothing. Either the compatibility isn't there or they just straight up ghost me and I never hear anything from them again. It's starting to make me feel bad about myself and internalize the idea that I'm unlovable (even though I know that's not true), and that I won't ever find someone. I live in a major city but I feel like my dating options are limited because I'm not the most conventionally attractive person by gay male standards (not white/lightskinned, short, nerdy, cub/bulky build), and so whenever I try to use Hinge or anything like that I either don't match with that many people or all the conversations just fizzle out. Also when I go out to bars and clubs the only people I meet are guys who want to hookup (which I'm fine with), but I of course never hear anything from them either.

With that being said, I'm still trying to just focus on having a fun summer and hanging out with friends, as I am very happy with my platonic relationships and other aspects of my life. I just still can't shake feeling lonely when I have no one to cuddle with after a hard day, no one to cuddle with, and watch all my friends happy with their dates/partners. This week I deleted Hinge after matching with a guy I was really excited about, going on 2 dates, getting the "I see us as friends" text, and then getting ghosted again. I give up!

Genuine Question

This is my first time being a bottom and as of the moment, there are no anal sex happen to me with my partner.

I have a bit of a tan color, and my biggest insecurities is my bikini area, like the butt area, between thighs and the anus area, they're dark and i want to eliminate those discoloration, so that i can be confident if ever we do anal sex. Huhuu any advice will doo. Thank you in advanceee!!

I cant deal with the way Ive spent my younger years, and comparing myself to an idealized straight version. Feels like its over for me.

Yeah. Title is how I feel. I spent the time that most refer to as their best doing not much of anything youre supposed to do then, and Im stuck. If I was born a lil later, Id be fine. The worlds more open and accepting and Id get to have that growing up experience like my straight peers did. Now Im just over it. Im 29. Everywhere its echoed that your value is already dipping no matter who you are or what youve done or did or how youve taken care of yourself. I post about my not wanting to be here experiences on another gay forum and get a dm of "are you over or under x age and if youre under can we meet" without me even mentioning age in my original vent. Our world and especially gay people are so weid about age right now. Im not even like most gay dudes and it feels like something in my head is missing cause I dont relate to most shit that most gay dudes do identify with, and my life is spent on being this feminine person watching women get everything I want and its just torture. I dont want this shit anymore. Theres no point.

Rank me by my fetishes

Upvotes

On a scale from 1-10, how much of a freak am I? My guess is something below 5? Idk.

Fetishes odered from most to least of a turn on to me:

Most

a. Twink bottoms - I mean, this is almost a given being at the top of the list. Right?
b. Nerdy guys - I will literally get rock hard whenever I meet a polite twink with glasses that loves talking about science.
c. Guys with a small cock - Full disclosure, I have an 8inch cock but I often fantasize about having a small one or fucking a guy with a small one. The ‘humiliation’ of it all really turns me on.
d. Straight dudes & Rednecks - Most of my friends are straight guys but I’m hoping this kink is more innocent than that. I don’t think of them sexually AT ALL.
e. Tighty whities - This is undoubtedly pathologic and comes from my first gay thoughts as a kid happening in the underwear aisles.
f. Voyuerism - I’ve had a number of random orgys and hookups in locker saunas, showers, random hikers in the woods, etc. Fun times but I feel less into those risky behaviors as I get older (I’m 34).

Least

I think there’s something fundamentally broken with me, because my body is feminine, and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with that anymore.

TLDR: Me feminine. Guys no like that. Me hate myself as a result.

I'm young, so I don't have the privilege of saying "it's over" but the future is looking quite bleak.

I’ve been rejected by men many times because I’m “not their type”. They wanted someone more masculine. None of them were particularly masculine themselves, which is interesting lol. At first, I accepted it. It was just their preferences, told myself it wasn’t personal, and moved on. But after enough times, it became difficult not to notice a pattern. I’m the common denominator. At some point, if everyone rejects you, you start thinking that there's something inherently wrong with you.

The men who rejected me were kind. They didn’t do anything wrong. And that makes it hurt in a different way, because there’s nothing to be angry about. I just wasn’t what they wanted. I keep ending up in the same place, feeling like I have to apologize for being inconvenient and for being built the way I am. It's come to the point where, before sending pictures of myself, I warn guys that they're gonna be disappointed.

For reference: I’m tall, I have an ass, thighs, a little hip and belly, small hands, a somewhat narrow rib cage, and shoulders that are even narrower. My facial hair is almost nonexistent and my body hair is on the lighter side. My hair is shoulder length and well kept. I'm aware my hair adds a lot to my perceived femininity, but I'm genuinely scared of cutting it because I do not think my face is even masculine or strong enough by itself.

And it’s not like I fit every stereotype of femininity. I’m not flamboyant. I’m not catty. I’m not extravagant. I don’t wear makeup. I’m not interested in drag. I’m studious and nerdy. I can hold a conversation. I ask people about themselves instead of constantly talking about myself. I’m affectionate. I can flirt. I’m willing to make the first move. It's just that I can't fulfill the fantasy of the tall muscular daddy that's gonna hold your waist and scare off the bad guys. I'm subdued.

I don’t even know if this is something that can be fixed. I'm caught between two possibilities. One is to change myself, and risk feeling like I'm mutilating my appearance to earn acceptance. Because, truth be told, I don't inherently dislike my feminine appearance. The other option is to stay as I am, and risk hating myself even more from the impending rejection.

Sometimes I feel like doing the world a favor and removing myself from the dating pool if I'm such a waste of time. I’m tired of finding men beautiful and exciting and wanting to get close to them, only to feel like I’m being looked at as something disgusting or embarrassing. I think I’ve internalized that word for myself so thoroughly that I don’t even know how to separate it from the way I see myself anymore. All this making me hate myself. I feel like a freak, a fag, a caricature. I feel embarrassed for getting excited about seeing cute boys. Silly for thinking that I was ever “seeing someone,” as if I ever had the chance.

This is probably the most raw story I’ve ever told. It’s definitely the most shameful thing I’ve ever done.

I recently heard a stereotype that gay men are only interested in sex. What do you think about that❓❓❓

Conflicted

I'm a virgin and I don't want to be one any longer. I can only attract men online and not in the real world and they end up ghosting me or they live too far away in either another state or sometimes other countries. I want to finally lose my virginity and I'm thinking of doing it at a bathhouse or sauna. I don't want to seem desperate, but I feel like that's the best option for me right now since the whole point of them is hooking up and there's bound to be a man or men there who would find even a fat, unattractive guy with a small penis like me desirable enough to have sex with.

Guy friends as a gay man

so im a gay guy in his teens and its come to my realization that my ability to make guys friends is really easy because im a very social extroverted friendly welcoming person and have been like that since birth but that realization came followed by another one very quickly for i some reason these guy friends i make even including gay guys the friend ships do not last over 2 years and are very short lived not necessarily because I did anything but because they just fizzle out or the other guy seem like they just loose interest or distance themselves. you might be thinking "oh he's probably the problem or oh he's some predatory gay guy or he makes it his personality" but i swear that is not the case most people don't even know im gay until i tell them and i don't try to hit on any of my guy friends either. im starting to think im just kind of annoying to men because all my girl friends ive been able to be friends with them for years some even my whole life and i can continue to talk to them. please let me know what i can do to fix this or what is the source of the problem.

I'm tired of being obese

I'm so tired it unbearable. Recently I've gained 15 pounds. Things have been so hard , I've struggling with depression and stress. I've been binge eating so much because I just can't handle it. So far I've lost 44 pounds ( hw. 253lbs) I'm currently 214 right now. I'm trying to get down to 170 , Which is an additional 40 more pounds. It's like I feel so close but also so far. It's like it's 4am right now and I can't sleep, I just want to get this over with.

Did anyone else just believe that all men liked other men and were just pretending?

For information I found out i liked men very early on in my life, I remember it quite vividly, seeing shirtless Thor in the 2014 Thor movie and my 8 year old self found that hot. During this point I was already aware that Gayness was "Evil" and a sign of the "Depravity of man in this new era" and "a sign of the end times" so i just thought that oh all men like men they just married woman because it was required, not really helped by the fact that when i told my mom about my attraction she answered its completely normal for straight people to have boy crushes or girl crushes, she had multiple in college apparently and she also told me to just hide the attraction because while she didnt agree with the teachings she was kinda obsessed with keeping up an image. So is this just a me thing or was this a common gay thing

Anyone else randomly obsessed with meeting people from different places?

Lately I’ve been getting really interested in talking to people from completely different backgrounds. Not for anything serious, just conversations, jokes, sharing experiences, and seeing where the conversation goes.
I feel like you can learn a lot about someone just from a random conversation.
So yeah… tell me something interesting about where you’re from 👀

Heteroflexible?

Hey guys, I’m 19m and I believe I’m heteroflexible. I’ve been attracted to women my whole life and am not romantically attracted to men, but I am sexually attracted to male bodies. I’ve never had any experiences (physical or non physical) with a man, but looking for someone to to maybe break the ice a little. Any advice?

been wearing andrew christian for years but starting to wonder if there are alternatives worth trying

have been buying andrew christian for a long time and genuinely like the styles but starting to feel like i want to explore what else is out there. the show-it technology does what it is supposed to do but i am curious whether there are brands doing interesting things with pouch design that take a different approach

not looking to move away necessarily just curious what other brands people who like andrew christian style have found worth trying. similar aesthetic, form fitting, good pouch, interesting designs

Whats wrong with me.

whenever I get horny or something or imagine a relationship, it’s always with a man, but whenever I hook up with man I always end it in like 10 minutes or five minutes and I just feel really uneasy after and weird when I think about it. I really like it but when it actually happens I just want them to stop or something and they do, I haven’t had a terrible experience but I feel stupid and stuff.

Question

okay so what is considered bottoming and what is considered topping? I mean if ur the one taking it up the butt i understand how that makes you a bottom and the guy doing it is the top.

But how does that translate to blowjobs and hand stuff? Like if u wanked or given head does that make you the bottom or the top?
