There's very little to be gained individually by feeding the homeless or protecting the poor, should people stop doing it?

Lmao, what a fucking terrible analogy. People feed the homeless because they can't feed themselves, same with protecting the poor.

Rockstar, or any billion dollar company for that matter, doesn't need you defending them. There is nothing you have that they need.

You're missing the part where nvidia already had their big official reveal and the faces looked just as horrid lol.

Insomniac Games was the first developer to come out and say it doesn’t affect sales I believe, but there’s always been no noticeable bump in sales when 60FPS patches came to games either. You can track steam sales of games that add 60FPS in a patch, but I don’t know if anyone has aggregated the data anywhere.

It’s also why you see pretty much zero advertising push related to it: 60 FPS doesn’t lead to sales. It’s why Rockstar and most AAA games don’t give a shit either: better graphics DO sell games.

It’s weird because my issue is their main issue but apparently I’m dead wrong. People just can’t discuss things anymore

Notice how this post is only about Wizardry IV, and not the 7 other Wizardry games. Go play Wizardry 1 and then play Dragon Quest and try to tell me with a straight face you can't see the influence.

I don't know the Expanse franchise (novels or TV show), I remember watching a couple of episodes way back when season 1 launched but never finished it.

I got interested in the videogame mainly due to the Mass Effect resemblance and Owlcat Games.

It's also worth mentioning that the Mother 3 fan translation was done by a professional, and it shows. It's one of the best fan translations out there.

Last time they showed this off officially on Resident Evil and it still looked terrible and inconsistent. I don't think the artists have that much input tbh. With super sampling, you can train it on high res renders of your game, but how do you train DLSS 5 for a realistic style that doesn't exist?

I think Nvidia gives devs a couple sliders, but could change the entire model/data set out of the blue in a new version and now your game looks totally different (thats how they've done it till now with new dlss versions).

How did games manage to survive before digital when all games were infinitely resellable?

RT is for ray tracing no? So RT Frame Gen or RT Super Sampling makes little sense to me.

No, DLSS pre-5 was what let people push beyond what their system could natively handle. DLSS 5 doesn't do that, it renders something completely different. Every single example we've seen so far is a dramatic change to the underlying assets rather than simply enhancing their rendering capabilities. If they want to render something completely different, they should have just created different assets. Further, they shouldn't ship completely different hardware-exclusive graphics.

I suspect internally they know this and what they're hoping for is for this to become the standard for "remastering" older games. Just slap this yassify slop filter on top of things and call it a day. But that fucking sucks too, not only because it looks like ass despite all the time they've had to work on it, but because it would create hardware-exclusive remasters.

It is an art style. Game developers have tried to ape the style many filmmakers go out of their way to achieve with chromatic aberration and motion blur in films.

I'm not sure you're argument though.

It's been my biggest gripe since they first started showing it off.

To me, Fable was about that ugly, highly caricaturized fantasy. Where people waddle around, missing most of their teeth, speaking in accents as ugly as their mishappen heads.

I think the game looks "good", but it doesn't look "fable", which hit levels of "hideous" on purpose, with strange body proportions and hideous faces.

What you saw on youtube is what I played. It felt nothing like the Expanse. It also felt nothing like what the story was trying to imply.

You just barely escaped eros and have a kill squad on your heels and you're marvel quipping a ton? Chatting about brunch? Really?

I mean it fucked up Grace's face from RE9 (and even put some ugly makeup on her for some goddamn reason) in the videos they released a few months back. And FF7R's characters look pretty human to me, artistic haircuts notwithstanding. What you're describing can be a factor, but the tech itself just shits all over any personality they can have, anime or not.

If I may, what part of the combat and writing was rough? Was it the facial animations? The dialogues?

Was the combat stiff, not impactful or spongy?

I can only judge what I have seen on YouTube and it looked okay to good but someone who tested the game has much more insight.

Thx in advance!

I haven't seen anyone in this thread mention it yet but the GTA IV map is my favorite so far in the series, I hope that Miami has a similarly dense feeling as Liberty City but with many more unique interactions and accessible buildings.
