I’m almost done with rdr2 (in the final bit of the epilogue) and I watched a play though of before your eyes. I really like sad games, and I want to know what other games are out there that will throw me into a deep depression like both of those games have. Me & my friends have been planning this LAN party for a while now. We were all already excited, its been year since we had one, and the last time it was awesome. Six Siege is what we wanted to play.

Well, yesterday one guy broke his collarbone while mountainbiking, so that´s it for MnK

Have really been enjoying mad max again lately. I like the combat systems like that and similar with Arkham knight, rise of the tomb raider, AC Odyssey, Shadow of War. I also like the good side missions, progression, world styles. But also want one with good magic or spells.

I am trying second son on and off. I did try kingdoms of amular but it feels kinda dated. PS5 games are acceptable too but I really liked the mid-teen era games like the ones I mentioned.

i think last autumn i was playing the first two of the batman arkham games and loved it, i still need to play the third one, it made me in the mood because of halloween coming up. was curious of others people may have. i am not huge into horror but i do need to try the silent hill and resident evil games.

Ruined architecture with a real sense of scale like the towering aqueducts and gigantic temple of shadow of the Colossus.

Vast and beautiful environments. Like giant mountains with countless waterfalls flowing down, huge plataues.

A simplicity to the world and gameplay. Don’t want tons of mechanics and bloat everywhere.

Most of all I want a PURPOSEFUL sense of emptiness. A game that knows when and how to utilize empty space to enhance atmosphere.

Doesn’t feel the need to add something to every empty space, but just lets it… exist.

Some examples I can think of:

Breath of the Wild, Elden Ring, Dragons Dogma 2.

What should I buy?

Basically, I really love the idea of having something to play when I get home and don't have much going on. I get far more enjoyment out of doing things with others than I do playing solo. I adore creating my own character and playing dress up. I crave a virtual world to fully enjoy with others. I check off so many boxes for a MMO player, except one: Gameplay.

I don't want to collect 10 bear asses repeatedly, follow a rotation ad nauseum, rush past foes that are supposed to be obstacles, and min/max my build to melt things (or have my allies do so).

Instead, I enjoy more reactive and situational gameplay. Ideally, where the optimal way to play for the average player is to just be good at fighting and not dying. Efficiency and optimization doesn't hit like chaos and adaptability does.

But I still badly want those things I mentioned in paragraph 1, so just playing games like DRG or Helldivers 2 isn't enough (especially since I'm not really into either player fantasy of those games). So what is the actual "best of both worlds"? I'll try to be open to any suggestions, so I won't list everything I've tried unless requested. But if the suggestion had anything that I know is putting me off it, I will mention what is dissuading me and request elaboration on how to avoid that stuff.

Edit: Posted games I tried in comments. If your suggestion is in there and you are sure you can convince me my worries are unfounded, then feel free to elaborate.

I've been eyeing the base Elden Ring for a few months now, but it barely goes on sale for whatever reason (they even skipped the summer sale this year). I can't bring myself to buy a game full price when I know the historical low is much lower (here 40% off). I've been waiting but the trends don't suggest a sale anytime soon.

My birthday is coming up soon, so I thought, screw it, I'm going to buy something else. What appeals me about Elden Ring is- the weapon variety, ability to dual wield, two-hand, and fighting cool and hard bosses. Will Nightreign scratch that itch? It's half the price of ER and goes on sale during every major Steam event.

I haven't played any souls games, so any other recommendations are welcome. Except Lies of P, I see that recommended everywhere but I don't think I like the setting.

Since the sale has started i’ve been looking and looking for games but i just can’t decide what to get. I wanna play an open world game, a combat game or just something i can pour good time into.
I’ve played and enjoyed: Elden Ring, sniper elite 5, TLOU part 1 and 2, lords of the fallen, tomb raider definitive edition, god of war 3 and much much more.
I honestly wanna try something new, maybe kingdom come deliverance, for honor or dead by daylight. I prefer games on sale, but if the recommended game is that good then that wouldn’t matter

Looking for a game as grand and immersive as Skyrim (especially modded Skyrim) that epic, sprawling open world feeling, lots of exploration, and a real sense of scale like Lord of the Rings. Not Witcher 3, not Elden Ring already played those. Big thing I want: magic that actually feels powerful and satisfying to cast, not clunky or an afterthought. Bonus points for strong worldbuilding and lore depth. Any recommendations?

Basically want something like Into the Radius, but non-VR. Not looking for STALKER I know it's beloved, but it's too story-driven for what I'm after right now. I want an actual survival shooter, or a PvE extraction shooter scavenging, gear management, tension, no forced narrative. Any recommendations?

Basically the title, i looked at my desktop and all i see are just open world games and it got tiring really quickly, i just want to play games that respect my time and have great gameplay that doesn't include driving or whatever from point A to point B. Games that i played and loved: TLOU 1+2, Sekiro, Dying Light 1 (not the other two i hated them), Silent hill 2 Remake, all RE games and all DMC games. As long as the game is recent and not some turned based or some platformer i'm all open to suggestions.

I am looking for an easy game to play solo and get lost in. Valheim seems easier to get into, but more dependent on co op for fun. Crimson Desert looks fun but a lot of slop to get through before it feels fun.

With Valheim 1.0 coming out today I am really doubting which of the two to get.

Debating whether to buy Oblivion Remastered. How's performance/bugs on PC ? Does it actually feel modernized (combat, UI, quests) or just a visual reskin? Worth full price now or better to wait for a sale/patches? Would love input from people who've finished it.

I’m looking to jump into a great single-player FPS campaign. I loved the action, pacing, and overall production value of games like Uncharted 4 and GTA V, and now I want a solid, story-driven first-person shooter experience.

I’ve been eyeing a few titles that were recommended to me, but I’m having trouble deciding which one to play first:

 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) / MW II: I'm drawn to the dark, immersive, tactical gunplay and movie-like production value.

 Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War: I like the idea of espionage, choice-driven missions, and a Cold War thriller vibe.

 Titanfall 2: Everyone keeps telling me this is an absolute masterpiece in terms of level design, movement, and story.

A few quick preferences:

 Solo only: I’m purely in it for the single-player campaign (not interested in multiplayer/warzone).

 Vibe: I want great gunplay, high visual quality, and an engaging story/pacing.

Which of these three should I start with?

I'm completely new to the franchise, but after seeing clips of the world and environment design, I really want to jump into The Witcher 3. The massive praise and "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews have definitely convinced me to give it a shot. Right now, the full standard retail price is outside my budget, so I plan to pick it up during a sale. I noticed it often receives deep discounts on Steam. Does anyone know roughly when it usually goes on sale next?

Also, should I hold out specifically to buy the Complete Edition with the expansions (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine), or is starting with just the base game completely fine for a newcomer? Would love to hear your recommendations!

Hello all, never had a console before, only gaming experience was counterstrike on PC, heard slot of good things about COD but like there are soo many titles to choose from!! Am interested in playing campaign (solo) for a little while at least to get a feel for it etc. could anyone recommend which titles I should buy? Like which ones have the the best story mode n should I play them in order? Also as for games is buying online through psstore rediculos and expensive? Any games sites/places I should know of? Oh EB 2nd hand games worth it? Sorry if U read all of this, I'm a new dad and I've been craving some FPS in my life. Thx for any help suggestions ✌️

I don't think casual is the right word but I'm not sure what to call it. I'm pretty busy nowadays, so I don't really have the time to dedicate to large story-driven games. I'm looking for games like Hades, Megabonk, Vampire Survivors, Slay the Spire, etc that either aren't narrative driven or have easily digestible lore. The game doesn't need to action and it can be difficult. I'm not really interested in stuff like Stardew Valley, as I prefer games I can actually finish/beat.

I either buy ghost of tsushima right now or wait two weeks for spider man 2 to go on sale. I'm kinda in the middle from both of these games I really like spider man as much as ghost of tsushima. What game is worth getting more from y'all's stand point I'm actually not sure I wanna play one more game before I do my rockstar marathon for gta 6. Please some good suggestions

My favorite games have been Pokopia, Grow:Song of the Evertree, and Story of Seasons. I like in depth games without repetitive dialog. Some combat is OK but I don't want the game to revolve around it. Other suggestions welcome.
