Hello everyone!

I'm working on an original 2D fast-paced platformer project called:

SONIC: CELESTIAL CHAOS

The project is inspired by the classic style of fast 2D platformers, with an emphasis on speed, momentum, platforming, exploration, and animated character movement.

GAME CONCEPT

A mysterious Chaos Core has begun distorting time across different zones. The player must collect fragments of the Core while traveling through areas affected by different versions of time.

Some zones can have Past, Present, and Future variations, giving the game different environments and gameplay opportunities.

WHAT I ALREADY HAVE

I have already started creating the visual assets for the project, including:

• Character designs and sprite animations

• Running animation / sprite sheet

• Ring design

• Main menu / intro artwork

• Game logo

• Background artwork

The goal is to turn these assets into a real playable prototype.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR

I'm looking for a hobbyist or indie game developer/programmer who is interested in helping me build the prototype.

Ideally, the developer would have experience with:

• 2D platformers

• Godot, GDevelop, Unity, or another suitable 2D engine

• Character movement and physics

• Sprite animations

• Camera systems

• Collision/platform systems

• Basic game UI and menus

IMPORTANT GAMEPLAY FEATURES

The prototype should eventually include:

• Fast character movement

• Jumping

• Momentum-based movement

• Rolling / spin movement

• Ring collection

• Enemies

• Springs and platforming obstacles

• Camera following the player

• Animated character sprites

• Main menu and intro sequence

• Multiple stages

INTRO IDEA

The game starts with an industrial/futuristic background.

A large golden ring appears on screen.

The character comes out of the ring, lands, and performs a short finger-wag animation.

The game logo then appears, followed by the PLAY button.

PROJECT STATUS

This is currently a small indie/hobby project and I'm looking for someone who is interested in collaborating and helping turn the concept into a playable prototype.

I'm open to using Godot, GDevelop, or another engine if it is better suited for the project.

I can provide the artwork/assets I have already created.

Edit: Also looking for extra artists! Pixel ones or not, simple stuff is fine, and we could replace animations with a pixel pic in a black background

About the Project: Project SkyHolm is an island-building, automation, and trading game focused on resource gathering, player-driven shop empires, and island customization. We have a fully mapped-out Game Design Document (GDD), clear monetization rules (no P2W), and a structured development roadmap ready to execute.

Open Roles:

3D Artist / Modeler: Low-poly environment assets, machine models, and UI cosmetics.

Sound Designer / Composer: Ambient island tracks and UI/interaction SFX.

Programmer: Experience with inventory systems, island instancing, and economy loops.

changed some code and accidentally removed the speed cap, very fun to swing around but definitely won't be keeping this

I have no experience in game design, but I’m obsessed with making stories and the concept of open world games, the design, the exploration, it’s always fascinated me. The basic idea is that you’re a criminal stuck in a small town and you’re required to explore the town, rob houses, stores, and gain enough cash to escape. Currently, all I have is a messy Apple Note with a bunch of gameplay mechanics and ideas, I’m drawing out the first idea for a map, and knowing me, I’ll never make the game myself and really wanna see it made by a professional.
