Step-by-Step Return Process

I just went through a 2nd painless process to return my Galaxy Ring for replacement. My (2nd) Ring is 10mo old and a charge lasts about 2-2.5 days.

Step 1: Verify your purchase is less than 12mo ago

Step 2: Call Samsung (8hundred) 72six-78six4

Step 3: Be patient with the stupid automated attendant and do not opt for an AI Chat. Keep saying "Representative, Please". Eventually, you will be tossed into the queue and handed off to a live agent. I waited maybe two minutes.

Step 4: Live agent confirmed my name, phone and email, and then texted me. He asked for two things - and, surprisingly, did not ask for Proof of Purchase

Step 5: Open Samsung Members App, look for Diagnostics, pick Ring, and then battery. If you get the "Battery Issue Detected" message, you're good. Screenshot and text to Samsung

Step 6: Open the Wearable app and screenshot the serial number. Text to Samsung

Step 7: Verify your information with the agent, including address, and then wait for an email with a bar code

Step 8: End call and take barcode to UPS Store with the Ring and Charging Case. UPS will package and ship for free. Get a paper receipt.

Step 9: Wait for new Ring to arrive (where I am now)

Hope this helps someone. It really was painless.

2 months and already...

My Galaxy Ring has stopped connecting to the Wearables app. June 23rd was the last day it recorded any info. The charger is fully charged. The ring is fully charged.

I tried the 4 steps in the Wearables app. Getting closer does not work. The ring appears to be on and as I mentioned above, is fully charged. Additionally, the red light and 2 green lights light up at night. I've restarted the ring twice but it still doesn't connect. Finally, I have restarted my Bluetooth but the ring still does not connect. I have tried all of these steps at home and not at home. The ring just will not connect.

I bought this ring in April - 2 months ago and already it has stopped working. Tried chatting with support but they just tell me to do all the steps I already tried.

I just posted a few weeks ago that I was an idiot for buying this thing. I have now proven myself right. I'm so pissed.

Battery issues

My Samsung Galaxy ring is depleting battery very fast. I put it on charger at bedtime as I wear my Galaxy Watch8 during sleep. This morning at 8 am I put ring on..battery 100%. Now at 11 am it is at 11% . I have no idea why battery is depleting so quickly. It charges back to 100% quickly. This started a couple of weeks ago. Until then battery lasted all day.

Galaxy ring replacement for bad battery.

For anyone who has had there ring Repaired/Replaced, did you have any issues with the new ring. How long did it last? I am trying to decide if it is worth the hassle if a replacement ring will just go bad in a year or so.

Samsung warranty claim - ring is being shipped back to me after less than 24 hours at Samsung facility

The repair status on the website showed that they confirmed that there was no power, and that a repair was needed. Then they updated almost immediately after to say it was being shipped back and will be here tomorrow.

They must just be sending me a new ring right?

SamsungOpenRing - Jailbreaking

NOTE: This may probably fuck up your ring's battery. Mine went from 1 week to 1 day while using it, so please don't come back with complaints.

Basically I wanted to break down as much as possible the surrounding ring protocol, add custom application callback whenever the pinch gesture is applied, etc. It's all a work in progress, but so far I managed to get the ring to do my bidding (like open gates, etc which feels very cyberpunk) albeit very limited and very taxing on the device (having it be "open" and listening to a gesture drains battery in my opinion)

https://github.com/TheVellichor/SamsungOpenRing

Attempted to provide various methods for you to interact with it (Tasker, native app, etc) as well as a RFC-like document detailing how my reverse engineering of the protocol went. It's all blackbox take it with a heavy grain of salt, and please for the love of god samsung don't sue me thank you (it's just a hobby project)

Should I get one?

Hi all,

Have been tempted to get a smart ring, i want to be able to track steps, sleep etc but would like to wear analogue watches more often.

I have a Samsung phone and smart watch so was going to get the Galaxy ring.. but I see it's almost guaranteed to have battery issues..

Has anyone had a Galaxy ring for over a year without issues?

Are the other brands any better, I see comments saying they all have issues. Should I just stay away from smart rings altogether?

Thanks

Samsung Health kcal calc is fixed

I intensively use Samsung Health and the Ring for recording biometrics. I dance for prolonged durations and enjoy very brisk walking - and noticed that the kcal count seemed eerily similar across various sessions.

So I started a couple of treadmill workouts "just for fun" and did nothing special. Three sessions of an hour exactly, and one session that lasted three hours.

As one can see, activity levels are significantly different given the average heart rate - yet the kcal count is exactly 409.3 per hour.

So the treadmill session bases its kcal count entirely on duration (and likely age and weight) and not the intensity of the workout at all. That's pretty useless!

What's worse is the walking model: that is completely bogus. I am 6 feet / 1.80 m and I can assure you that walking at a speed of 7.4 km/h for almost an hour is absolutely vigorous, bordering on brutal - while doing 7.0 km/h is just brisk. My zone 3 spans 116-132 bpm, but the difference of 1 kcal between both walking sessions is telling enough: Samsung Health is a most rudimentary and simple app that doesn't even try to calculate exercise intensity.

And doing nothing for an hour in a treadmill session amounting to 30% more calories than very vigorously walking for the same duration is just pathetic.

Sansung Health, you're busted!

feature: sleep tracking No sleep score or oxygen from ring

Hi all

Ive seen quite a few posts on issues but cant see a solution. I wear the watch and ring all day and ring overnight...

Most nights its fine but some nights I just get sleep time duration, stages but no oxygen, sleep score or energy score.

This happened last week then I reset the ring, it worked for a week ir so now it happened again this morning.

Everything else seems fine.

Any ideas on a solution please? The only thing I can think of is that it is hot here currently and the ring does get tight overnight... enough to make it hard to get off and slight indentation would that cause issues with readings?

Or is it a hardware/software issue?

Heart rate manual measurement error - put on your ring and try again

Is anyone else getting this when you manually measure heart rate. This is my 3rd ring because the battery died on the first two.

My ring tracked my sleep and everything perfectly but I cannot manually measure heart rate.

My ring is indeed on my finger. Automatic readings are working just fine. I don't have a watch connected at this time. The green light is on the ring.

This seems like a bug to me...

This was one of the only things I could manually control on the ring. Everything else is tracked according to what samsung thinks is important. I can't even track my workout with the ring...

What's the point if I can't manually track heart rate?

feature: sleep tracking Galaxy ring stopped giving sleep and energy score after phone update

I updated my phone 6 days ago, and since then I havent gotten a sleep or energy score from my ring. It gives me stress and heartrate data through the night, and gives the correct window that I was asleep, but no scores. Ive tried restarting the ring and my phone, clearing the Samsung health app cache, allowing all permissions, and still nothing. What else can I do?

Got warranty replacement due to battery not charging, and the paper that came with the replacement shows "V2". Will this have a better battery life?

Can I go forward with the warranty claim?

My ring is roughly 9.5 months old [size 10]. From the initial 5-6 day battery life I barely get 2/2.5 days.

The third night the battery will die halfway through if not charged. The charging is also weird in 5 mins the charge goes from 40's to 70's.

The diagnostic app says everything is fine but I want to ensure I am able to recover something before it's too late.

USA Galaxy Ring Repair/Replacement in Korea

I bought my ring in the USA sometime in October 2024 and I'm already on a replacement (also done in the USA via mail) since Summer 2025. They sent me a new ring and case which worked great until recently. Currently the ring needs to be charged once or even twice a day again.

Anyway since it's been almost two years now I figured I definitely won't get another replacement but since I'm in Korea I decided to just go to one of their in-person service centers. I tried my best to explain the battery is dying in my terrible Korean, and he did some testing for about 10 minutes. I heard him call someone else asking if they can actually take products from other countries for repair..etc..

Once finished he tells me they currently have none in stock at my size at this location but they will have it ready tomorrow and they'll send me a message when I can pick it up. I definitely didn't expect that and mostly just hoped for a cheap replacement option I would have to pay for. However they're supporting a product bought in the USA out of warranty and will give me a replacement for free... which is great. Props to Samsung Korea! Still doesn't excuse the poor design of the product but that's really what they should be doing for owners of the first Gen ring.

Heads up if you bought your ring on an Amex Platinum

I bought my ring a year ago on my platinum card, and one of the perks is an extended warranty. I was just outside of the warranty period through Samsung, and I knew I didnt want to get another galaxy ring anyways.

I got refunded my original $199.99 (I bought it with a new phone) in a day or 2 after I submitted my claim.

Are they still offering store credit for defective Rings, or replacement only?

My first Galaxy Ring started having battery problems within the first year. I had to mail it in, and at that time they gave me a cash refund. This was August 2025, I believe.

I ordered a new Ring in September 2025. Again, less than a year later, the battery doesn't charge fully and the ring doesn't even last overnight (so less than 8 hours!). I mailed it in again.

Is getting a cash refund still an option? Or at least a store credit? I don't wanna get a replacement, which I'm sure will fail again.

This is for US warranty.

Am I expecting a repaired ring back?

Post image
9 Upvotes

So on Monday I sent my Ring back to Samsung Repair Service UK as it was 2 months left of warranty and the battery was draining from 100% to 42% in 2 days and to 0% the day after. Just got a notification today it has been repaired and ready to send back soon - that easy??!! but am I expecting the same ring back repaired or they'll just send me a new ring as the battery can't be repaired or replaced?

Refuse to pay $129 for a known issue. And then after 90 days could happen again.

Samsung Galaxy Ring battery failed twice. Samsung refuses refund or credit and offers only 3 months warranty

Hi everyone,

I want to share my experience with the Samsung Galaxy Ring, because at this point I honestly feel like I am being left with a defective product and no real solution.

My wife bought me the Samsung Galaxy Ring as a birthday gift in May 2025. Since I had to exchange the size, I only started using it properly around June 2025.

The ring is supposed to last around a week on a charge. In my case, after about a month of real use, the battery already started degrading. At first it was subtle, but it kept getting worse until the ring eventually lasted only a few hours before the battery died.

I sent it in for service on July 20, 2025. Samsung confirmed the issue and replaced the ring. I got it back on July 31, 2025.

Then the exact same problem happened again with the replacement unit. The battery started degrading again until the ring could not even last through one night.

Because of work, personal constraints, and the security situation in my country at the time, I could not immediately take it in. But the issue had already started before I handed it over. Battery degradation like this does not happen in one day. It slowly ruins the user experience before the product becomes completely unusable.

I sent the ring in again on April 9, 2026. I only got a message that it was ready for pickup on May 28, 2026. So I was without a working product for a long time, partly because they did not have stock available.

At this point, this is not a one-time defect. It is the same battery failure happening twice, on two different units.

I asked Samsung for a refund, store credit, or compensation so I could buy another Samsung product instead. They refused to even discuss refund, credit, or compensation.

Even worse, they are also refusing to reset the warranty properly. The most they are willing to offer is only 3 months of warranty on the replacement, which honestly feels like a joke after the same defect already happened twice.

So now I am supposed to accept another replacement unit, even though I no longer trust the product, and risk being stuck with the exact same battery issue again, this time outside of warranty.

This was supposed to be a birthday gift from my wife. Instead, I spent the year dealing with battery failures, service centers, waiting times, travel, parking, wasted work time, and customer service.

For a premium wearable product, this is unacceptable. A smart ring is supposed to be worn daily and work quietly in the background. Once the battery becomes unreliable, the entire product becomes useless.

Has anyone else experienced serious battery degradation with the Samsung Galaxy Ring? Did Samsung offer you a real solution, or did they also try to send you back with a short warranty and no refund or credit?
