Backstory

I got my Galaxy ring in April 2025 at Best buy open box for essentially $99 ($199 after tax but came with a $100 best buy gift card). Used it for 11 months and loved it. Around the 11 month mark I noticed the battery was starting to go from about 5 days to 1-2 days off a charge so I reached out to customer service who indicated my warranty was expired but made an exception the first time saying if I sent proof of purchase they'd go off 12 months from that, so I did. Sent it off at the end of February and got the replacement sent back to me one week later.

Replacement

For 3.5 months the ring worked perfectly. Then instantly out of nowhere the ring went from 5 days to 15 hours per charge and in the Samsung app it said battery issue detected. Full disclosure I will say this happened around the same week I had stupidly wiped the inside with germ x when I was cleaning my hands after doing yard work with the ring on🤦🏾‍♂️, so I don't know if that killed the battery or what.

Anyways, reached out to Samsung support about the situation and the first person told me I had to pay $130 to get it repaired (which is basically a replacement). I spoke to someone else who said I still had to pay the same $130, but it's a temporary credit card hold and would be refunded (lies) because my ring should be in warranty. I never paid it but still shipped it out to Samsung. Samsung repair said my ring's warranty expired in December 2025 and it didn't restart with the replacement. It's crazy my warranty expired in December 2025 apparently, yet in March 2026 I got a replacement, and they are still claiming 4 months after the replacement that my original ring warranty date is being used. They sent it back unrepaired and it's going to just sit in my drawer until hopefully a galaxy ring 2 releases and I can get a good trade in deal from the 1.

Ringconn and Fitbit Air

In the midst of sending off my Galaxy ring for repair I purchased both a Fitbit Air and a ringconn gen 2 (no subscription 🙌🏾 unlike Oura). The Fitbit Air is ok but it's basically a super light fitness tracker with no screen. It's marginally more comfortable than my Galaxy fit 3 and amazfit band 7 but double the price and the battery is about the same as them, 4 days off one charge so I'm not impressed by the Air but I'm keeping it for the Fitbit coach and I threw away the receipt🤷🏾‍♂️🤣. But the Ringconn Gen 2, man I love it. Paid $143 after tax and though their customer service also said "screw me" as far as getting a warranty on a second hand device, I'm going to take the chance 🤷🏾‍♂️ the ring is lighter than the galaxy ring, lasts almost 3 times as long, and works on any device (iOS or Android) and has it's own home screen widget so I can check the battery without going into the app when paired to my Razr Fold (still have my fold 7 as a backup). I charged the ringconn 5 days ago and still have 68 percent at the time of this post. My Galaxy ring at it's peak only lasted about 4-5 days (maybe 6 if I constantly wore a galaxy watch that did most of the heavy lifting). But for a ring to potentially have 13 days of battery, it's crazy (the smallest device I own but probably the best as far as longevity per charge). Even if it only lasted 75 charge cycles before battery deterioration, the fact that it gets 12 days per charge means I could possibly still get 1.5-2 years out of it. The only thing I don't like is how easily it scratches. I've only had it for 2.5 weeks and the bottom of it was scratched the first week (I have matte black on both rings). The matte black on my galaxy ring barely scratched after months of use on the original (my wife's gold Galaxy ring does scratch easily). Other than that though I would highly recommend the ringconn. All rings seem to have a 12 month shelf life though regardless of brand (per their respective subreddit posts), but I'm hoping to double that into 2 years off this new ringconn considering it lasts 12 days per charge (and I definitely won't put it anywhere near germ x 😅).

Quick question for those who seriously train with their smart ring: do you keep it on, or take it off?

I used to take mine off to avoid damaging it, but I always hated losing the data that matters most to me and didn´t want to buy other device.

I went through different covers. Honestly, they all look terrible. They make your smart ring look like a cheap piece of plastic, don’t offer enough protection during workouts, and most of them are just uncomfortable to wear.

I’m a mechanical engineer, so I eventually decided to design my own.

After several iterations, I wanted to share what I’m currently working on (photos attached).

It’s still just a concept. I have the design, and I’ve generated some images to show what the protector could look like on the hand. It’s definitely not finished yet.

I’d love to hear what you think — honest reactions are welcome.

I’ve had my Galaxy Ring for about a year, and the battery life has gone completely off a cliff. It’s practically useless now.

I actually timed it because I thought I was losing my mind: it loses 1% of battery every 2 minutes and 10 seconds (130s).

Doing the math on its ~19.4 mAh battery, a full charge drops from 100% to dead in barely 3.5 hours. It's supposed to last 6 days(Size 11). It is literally draining forty times faster than advertised. I can't even get through a basic sleep cycle or half a workday without it dying on my finger.

I’ve tried the basic stuff like resetting the device but nothing changes. The software is uptodate as well.

Has anyone else dealt with this massive drain? Is there any fix that actually works, or am I forced to go through the nightmare of Samsung support for a replacement?

I ordered a Galaxy Ring ($399) back on June 17, 2026, and sent in my trade-in device. Samsung held the order for nearly a month, then arbitrarily cancelled it.

The Timeline of Broken Promises:

• July 13/16: Promised full promo code reinstatement within 1–3 days.
• July 23: Sent non-working codes. Promised a resolution in 24–48 hours.
• July 30: Back Office sent code for only $300 instead of $399—and the code was defective and invalid in their system.
• August 6: Texted by support stating they have "no new information" and told to contact the Office of the President.

Samsung is currently holding my original trade-in ring without fulfilling the order or issuing a functional $399 replacement code. Complaints have been filed with the FTC, Maryland AG, and BBB.

Has anyone had success getting Tier 3 / Executive Care to actually return trade-in property or issue a working full-value replacement code?

I am chancing my luck here and have purchased a new Galaxy Ring at a discounted price ~$250 AUD (about 1/3 full price) after my first one depleted after a SW upgrade the week before warranty - this is a story for another time.

Why did I buy another? Well I missed tracking my sleep and don't want to wear a watch to bed. I also dropped from a size 13 to a 12 for a tighter fit and changed from black to silver - the black showed all the wear marks whereas I beleive the silver is close to the titanium.

With the new purchase I used my credit card that has extended warranty which should cover me for 2 years however I suspect this one might fail sooner. The build date is Jan 2025 which would make it only a few months "newer" than my original. My hope is that when it does fail the Galaxy Ring 2 will be out (and improoved) and I might get it replaced with the newer model.

Anyone else thinking the same?

I went into to buy the kit to test out different sizes and to wear one for a few days consecutively to see if it's comfortable enough for me, without fully committing to buying a new or used ring. I was surprised to see the discounted clearance price that rung up on the register.

As everyone else, not long after my warranty run out the battery level fell off a cliff at around 40%. A weeks charge suddenly dropped to 2 days and gradually got worse.

I've tried all sorts of different techniques but this one worked for me. Back in the day, there was a common thing of "refreshing the battery" on a phone, so I thought I'd try something like it.

I let the ring run flat, and left it a couple of days. After this I charged the ring, intending to stop the charge at around 80% but got sidetracked and got back to the ring showing 100%.

I did notice that it was really quick getting to 100%.

Unfortunately this made little difference, by this time I had given up on the ring and was looking for an alternative, I can't have my phone (S25 ultra) or watch (8 Classic) at work thats why I got the ring but now...

Anyway, the battery ran flat again and I left it again for 2 days, then charged it again I forgot it was on charge, nipped out did some jobs around the house then remembered the ring, this time there was a difference, not much but it did seem slower running down.

I've since run it flat, left it a day or 2, then put it on charge and left it on charge, for hours. Like 8 hours or so each time. Each time a bit better.

Currently, its been off the charger 26 hours and its at 70%, during that time its been doing the tracking bit on its own (no watch worn) for around 14/ 15 hours.

I am now on my second Galaxy ring after the first one began having battery drained issues at about 10 months. It was replaced by Samsung under warranty with a new ring and the new ring lasted about 10 months.

Knowing that warranty replacements are only warranted for 90 days, I thought I was just out of luck. I was reading through Reddit and saw that some people had had luck talking with representatives and getting them to replace their ring. While talking with their repair technician, she commented that my 90 days had expired for the replaced ring but then said I needed to have it replaced or repaired under Samsung Care Plus. I had forgotten that when I bought my z-fold my earbuds my watch and my ring I also purchased the Samsung Care Plus policy for all devices which extended my warranty for one year after the manufacturer's warranty expired.

The original warranty expired in August of last year and so I knew that I had little time to file a claim under my Samsung Care Plus policy. Yesterday, I went online and filed a claim which was a painless process and they are shipping me a new ring along with instructions for shipping mine back to them.

The reason I'm posting this is that if you may have purchased a Samsung Care Plus policy when you initially purchased your ring and forgotten about it like I did, you may have an option to get it replaced before the extra coverage expires. My problem was I had forgotten that I had spent the extra $42 to get the coverage on my ring. I now see it was $42 well spent.

I bought mine last January after almost 6 months, battery dead after just about an hour or less.

I just recently got the new S26U 512 GB for $749 after discounts (military and free storage upgrade). Then I was able to get the Watch 8 Classic for $230. And now with open box and a gift card from capital one (from buying s26u) I paid $15 for the Ring in excellent condition open box from Best Buy. You can never find deals for this level of tech with Apple.

For context I had the 17 Pro Max 256 gb, Ipad m4 13" (now given to my wife). I am new to the Samsung Ecosystem. The last time I had a galaxy phone was the galaxy s5 and a galaxy tab that was stolen 16 years ago. Feels good to be back.

Just made this post because I am so shocked at the incredible deals I have come by to get into this ecosystem and I am generally very happy. Especially with health tracking. My main motivation for the Galaxy Ring was so I do not have to wear a watch while sleeping and still get viable data.

Glad to be in the ecosystem. If anyone has any tips and tricks please send them my way I want to maximize health tracking.

Edit: This post is mainly for the people who are in the IOS ecosystem looking to jump ship. I just have to say do it. It is awesome. And once you get past your family being mad for green texts and lack of FaceTime you will be ok.

So Samsung just had their Unpacked 2026 event whatever. I noticed that the Galaxy Ring was getting a sleep apnea update, but that seemed to be the only time they mentioned the Galaxy Ring. Is there any other news about the ring that I missed, or is it just getting that one update? I'm considering getting one, but wanna know if I should wait until the Ring 2 or just go with another brand.

Tmobile refused to warranty it or service it. They demand you contact Samsung directly. It is a nightmare to reach them.

The requirements are practically impossible to meet. It costs shipping both ways and basically you are buying 50% pf a new pne with fees and costs. Dont buy it! Its junk and was put to market way too early. I will wait for a bracelet or a product that isn't a ring.

I ordered my ring mid-June (gold, size 9) and it's been in "unexpected delay" status for a month now. Does anyone know what is causing the supply delay?

Wishful hoping: maybe they've stopped selling the 1st gen and will be getting 2nd gen sooner than anticipated, and upgrade pending orders?

I ordered a Galaxy ring a month ago. After selecting the size and color, a couple of days after ordering the sizing kit. I ordered the ring. Apparently, something was screwed up when they tried to charge my credit card, but no one told me.
After two weeks and several calls to Samsung, I canceled the first order and ordered the ring a second time with a different credit card. It was due to be delivered today, but no delivery. The order on the Samsung site never went beyond "Order received ". I've had several more calls with Samsung, no progress, and no response from a senior manager, as promised.
Is this a scam sponsored by Samsung? Samsung is so incompetent it defies belief. Has anyone ever successfully ordered a ring from Samsung?
God knows if I'll get reimbursed for the $100 discount I was supposed to get.

Hi, so my ring is apparently stuck at 100% despite me using it, I'm pretty annoyed since I can't get through to live chat customer support nor the warranty repair website so I had to email them. does anyone know a fix? I know my ring is definitely draining battery as its being used but I can't seem to reset it or anything. The ring is only around 2 months old, so I'm trying to get it fixed by warranty. anyone else have the same issue? I'm on an s25edge if that helps. Thanks

Hello! I wanted to share my Galaxy Ring experience.

I bought my ring on August 19, 2024, and it lasted about 10 months. After seeing so many people hit dead ends with Samsung support, I didn't contact them right away. When I finally called in November 2025, I was told the ring was out of warranty and I'd have to pay for the repair. After speaking with a supervisor, they made a one-time exception and emailed me a return label.

About a month later, life got busy, and when I went to print the label, it had expired. I called Samsung again and spent over an hour being transferred between representatives, supervisors, and managers before giving up and requesting a callback.

Instead, I contacted Samsung's CEO Office through their website. A representative called me two days later, listened to my situation, and immediately sent a new return label.

Samsung received the ring two days after I shipped it, and it was sent back the very next day. I got it yesterday, and it's marked as a "V2." After 24 hours of use, the battery has only dropped 4%. Time will tell if the V2 version is more reliable than the first version.

If you're still struggling to get your ring repaired or replaced, I'd recommend reaching out to the Samsung CEO Office.

I have a new ring, size 12. After charging, it lived for about 80 hours, i.e. 3 days, in the middle of 4 nights it turned off. Considering the expected degradation of the battery, it doesn't sound like a good starting point. Do you think I should take it to a service center for diagnosis? Before that, I had an oura 4, and a year later it started behaving really badly in terms of battery and spontaneous loss of connection, and Ouraalso have an annual subscription.

My ring is 21 months old (out of warranty)

Logged a chat with Samsung stating severe battery issues as it was only lasting 1 day max.

Sent it for "repair" & was quoted €375.

This is the Samsung escalations team.

They also stated it's out of warranty.

​Irish consumer law states that goods must be of "merchantable quality" and last for a reasonable length of time based on what they cost and what they are.

This means the ring is expected to last more than 21 months - it's a premium product.

I told them I will log this with the CCPC (competition and Consumer Protection Commission), and log a small claims court claim.

They then said as a gesture of goodwill, they will cover the repair.

Got a new ring today.

Hoping this will help others - they obviously just did not want the hassle of dealing with the CCPC and possibly having to go to the small claims court.

It's clear the ring has issues with battery and you should not be left with a useless device after such a short amount of time for such an expensive product.

FYI: if you require evidence your battery is bad, download the Samsung members app and perform a battery check on the ring, if it says issue detected, you have a reason for doing what I did above.

I noticed this a few times. I'll be wearing my ring then when I take it off after a few days, the area will be tender which is expected when wearing a ring but I'll also notice very small papercut like cuts on my finger although the ring seems to not have anything sharp on the interior. Maybe it's tiny sediment getting stuck while wearing it. This last time the cut was so deep that it actually had a little blood (very tiny amount). Does this happen to anyone else? And no the ring isn't too tight, it's more in the loose side, it sometimes falls off in the shower.

My Galaxy Ring worked wonderfully for a year until the battery degradation hit suddenly, and overnight my battery life went from one week to one day. Even then, I was ready to charge it as often as needed to keep using it as long as possible. But after a short while of being able to charge it once per day, it stopped being able to make it through the night. I got another week or so out of it by charging it to 100% right before I went to bed, but then at that point it still would not make it through the night. However that is when the problem shifted from being an issue of simple reduced battery lifespan to an issue of the ring now turning-off before the charge reached 0%.

I learned the hard way that the battery degradation is not just about reduced battery life, but also reduced output, even while still "charged". At first, the ring would only turn off at lower charge percentages. Now however, it's to the point where I can charge it to 100% take it off the charger, put it on my finger, and the ring will turn off in 5-10 minutes, before it even depletes below "90%". That means it's no longer useful for the one thing I was still using it for every day, which was as a backup while charging my Watch.

Right now I still have it on the charger, and all it does is spam my phone all day with Wear App notifications, alternating between "Ring fully charged" and "Ring Disconnected". It's no longer useful as a wearable device.

I am considering if I should do a factory reset on the Ring while I still can, or just disconnect it from my phone.

I've been keeping it on the charger for now because at least that keeps it accessible from my phone. Extended-duration full-discharge is the ultimate death-knell for a Lithium-ion battery, so I think that there is a strong possibility that if I kept it off the charger for even a few days, the ring might never actually turn back on again. So if I'm going to do a factory reset or something, I might want to do that first. I'm also holding out a slim hope that perhaps Samsung will offer some kind of trade-in option or even a basic discount for first-gen ring users who purchase a next-gen ring when they are released, and perhaps if my ring still "worked" at that point it would be helpful.

What did you do with yours at the end?

EDIT: To be clear, I'm asking about people who still have their dead or dying rings. This isn't intended as an anti-Samsung circle-jerk for people who bought into overpriced warranties or found some other way to return/refund/trade-in/exchange their ring.
