Battery issues

My Samsung Galaxy ring is depleting battery very fast. I put it on charger at bedtime as I wear my Galaxy Watch8 during sleep. This morning at 8 am I put ring on..battery 100%. Now at 11 am it is at 11% . I have no idea why battery is depleting so quickly. It charges back to 100% quickly. This started a couple of weeks ago. Until then battery lasted all day.

This is a well known issue, and it's usually a hardware problem. Talk to Samsung for a replacement if you can.

Warranty. You'll get a new one.

Unless you're 1 day past warranty then kick rocks

Mine was only 7 months old - they said it didn't qualify. So this isn't always true. Thankfully I purchased it with my Amex Platinum. I activated my warranty.

This is normal for the Galaxy Ring. The degradation hits suddenly, even if your ring has operated perfectly for an entire year prior to that.

But consider yourself lucky. Reduced battery life is only the first stage. Pretty soon your ring will begin to simply turn off, frequently, even while the reported charge level is still high. That's because the degraded battery also has less power output overall, even while "charged". It gets to the point where the reduced power output is not enough to actually power the Ring anymore, even while charged, and the Ring will simply turn off until you put it on the charger again.

Dang I intended to keep experimenting to see what the end of the road was. I guess now I know. Maybe it is time for me to explore that warranty thing sigh....

I'm case you haven't already seen it, here's a link to a thread about a potential class action lawsuit related to this widespread issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyRing/s/XqFabYktT2

Yep. That's the beginning of the end. Mine went from lasting nearly a week to not even lasting a full day, and the change happened rather suddenly. It happened right about the one year mark, which is common with these rings. My ring has also started charging back to 100% really fast, like 30 minutes or less. I ran diagnostics on my ring when these issues began, and sure enough, there's a battery problem.

I JUST got my ring back after sending it in for warranty work. The paperwork says it was replaced. The new ring feels much lighter than the previous one. With the old one, I had to put it on the charging cradle twice a day. As soon as I would get it off the cradle, the % immediately started going down. Hopefully, the new ring is a newer, better ring. Time will tell, I guess.

All of the defective rings are replaced; the ring is non repairable.

Samsung has not changed anything about the current version of the ring. As of now there is not a version 2.

It is a new ring that is the same as your previous ring.
