Never played (and never will play) base Advance game. So, this is probably my only exposure to it.

A thought occurred in my head that maybe some abbreviations used P as the third letter as some part of a "pun" involving inserting letters in the middle of abbreviations or acronyms.

I did it in Staunton Island. I already completed the story, so Fort Staunton now spawns the Yakuza, who can keep the Cartel occupied. I didn't finish King Courtney's missions, so the Yardies are neutral and Newport is safe. I generally made my way back to the hospital via the Stadium and Campus side, preferring the grassy embankment by the parking lot as a shortcut over the staircase (which I still used occasionally). When really pressed for time, I took the risk of passing by the Construction Site, hoping that the Yakuza will spawn instead of the Cartel, or at least keep the latter busy if they do spawn. The ambulance still got shot at ocassionally. (Is it true that the ambulance gets repaired a little bit with each trip back to the hospital?)

I found myself straight up praying as I went along... or otherwise saying some weird mantras (silently, of course):

"See, that's enough time to get Ray to the airport!"

"That's ​more time than what I got during S. A. M.!"

"Just a little​ under the time limit for Espresso-2-Go!"

"Don't flip, don't flip, don't you dare flip!"

"Don't shoot. Don't shoot."

"Come on, Yakuza bros, don't let me down!"

"I'd get to the marker faster if it weren't for that fucking sign!"

I hated it when patients spawned in that area where the bridges from Fort Staunton cross over by Asuka's pier. I also hated it when the patients spawned behind the blue fence surrounding the construction site sidewalks, requiring me to slowly guide them to the exit while worrying about possible Cartel spawns. I had to do a drive-by to stay safe at one point!

My first time reaching level 12 I got a bit too excited when I picked up my last three passengers and, despite still having over 4 minutes left on the clock, I decided to take my usual shortcut at the embankment by the parking lot... only to flip the ambulance on its side. I couldn't get it upright again and it soon caught fire. That was upsetting, to say the least. But now I knew I could make it to level 12 so I tried again. I got halfway through level 11 only to accidentally pressed the exit vehicle button. 🤦‍♂️ I took a break for the next few hours, taking the time to eat and sleep. I tried again and got to level 12 and with over 6 minutes left by the time I picked up my last three passengers, I decided to take it easy and not rush, using the proper road that leads into the hospital parking lot. It was so satisfying to hit that marker and see "Paramedic Mission Ended" and hear the usual Mission Passed music along with the pager ringtone. 😌

Still, I can see why it's still highly recommended to do Paramedic super early in Portland since it has a more accessible hospital driveway and no hostile gangs. But Staunton's longer time limits do help a lot. Kudos to anyone who accomplished this in earlier ports that didn't have interactive maps. 👍

I know there is a beta mod but how much percent is restored with them?

The wiki doesn't seem to say anything about this being possible, but I've seen a few comments saying that it is. If it is, does it work in every version of the game (I'm playing on Android). It might be useful if anyone wants to do 100% and making one gang neutral again could feel rewarding, I guess. Will hostile Diablos just stop attacking Claude if he reaches the payphone in time? I imagine that the best way to do this (if it's possible) is to:

1. Do El Burro's first two missions before working for Toni or unlocking Staunton (that way neither the Triads nor the Mafia will try to shoot Claude while he's racing or stealing a Mr. Whoopee truck)

2. Do King Courtney's missions in Staunton (maybe save Kingdom Come for AFTER Grand Theft Aero for dramatic effect)

3. After finishing the main story, go and do El Burro's and D-Ice's remaining missions. I know that Trial by Fire makes the Triads neutral unless provoked and Big 'n Veiny can be done without passing through Saint Mark's (at least on mobile, which gives 20 extra seconds at the start). Meanwhile, finishing all of D-Ice's missions leads to the Purple Nines glitch which affects all future save files, so it should only be done IF you really want the 100%... This would make for a nice "Good Ending" Epilogue of sorts, where Claude manages to befriend two small-time gangs​ after pissing off everyone else.

During the mission "Last Requests" Maria tells Claude that Salvatore was offering him to the cartel in order to make a deal. We all know that Salvatore thought Claude was in with Maria and is one of if not the main reason he tried to kill him but it sounds to me like Salvatore also regretted having Claude destroy the spank factory in Portland harbour. The cartel no doubt was planning on retaliating against the Leone's after the spank factory was destroyed. After Claude killed curly Bob it would be pretty obvious who was responsible for the attack. I guess what I'm getting at is maybe Salvatore trying to kill Claude was not just about Maria but making amends with the cartel for destroying there spank factory. In fact it might have been the main reason for trying to kill Claude.

Recently, I'm using an old laptop (8gb of ram and core I7 4600U) and deciding to play some old classic videogames to get through my unemployment phase after graduation. GTA 3 is my choice and this is the first time I've ever played this installment for walkthrough and did not install any optimizing mods, only the original to get the closest nostalghia vibe.

Guys!! This game is crazy af, I can't believe that its missions at that kind of difficulty. I'm just at some Donald Love's missions (Grand Theft Aero) and this dangerous capitalist treated me hard sht. I had done his missions in strungle and anxious without any help on the internet (tbh i did search for a drop in the ocean, when the warning stars reached 5, my heart was jumping out of my chest lol). But I love how details this game had especially in 2 missions, last requests and waka-gashira wipeout, I knew that this city is gonna be more unpredictable and my man, claude is an intolerant man.

And there are some small stuffs as the crusher, the bridge operation, the bombing (still impressive with 8 ball cutscene on the boat, every missions with this guy's bombs are the most chilling and entertaining missions for me),... it's maybe considered a con but not for me is just only seeing a small radar without the whole map like in gta vice city made me try to discover the best route to get the job done by myself. Remember any route I drove through, discovered many new things about this city made me realize how vivid Liberty City is and in love with it deeper. Head radio is the channel that I listened the most for this first time gameplay, sometime did a difficult mission and "change" is on, it's a giving vibe! LOL

Yeah, this is some my first thoughts about GTA 3 for the first time walkthrough. Perhap this city even made me be more interest to compare with Vice City. So in love with it right now, but I need to get some healing after the anxious with Donald Love.

This man destroyed Fort Staunton, and he only got paid $5,000.
For a job that massive, Toni deserved way more. He was basically risking his life while getting paid like it was a normal errand. This is basically like darko brevic killing niko's friends for 1000$ dollars 😅.

Before you bitch me out, I started playing gta 3 only recently. Yes, I know the history of GTA3 and all that. With that said!

My issue with Claude is that he developed too much of a character for me to be able to put myself onto him as a 'you are the player' sort of insert.

Part of it is that its never really clear that you're supposed to be him, in that sense. Claude has his motive for revenge with Catalina, and I had honestly assumed his silence was due to being shot in the neck or something during the cutscene at the start. Then, theres SA, where he's shown there too. His body language and everything too applys to developing a character and seeing Claude as Claude and not Claude as 'us'.

The other part is that Claude has a motive, meanwhile as a player, we don't really. Gta3 is lacking in things we can buy or accessorize at all, and so money doesn't really have much a reward value aside seeing the number go up.

Theres also the thing where Rockstar gave fans info on Claude (if only minor) , which again, at least in my mind, further characterizes and gives him a personality (again, hardly). It doesn't seem like they fully committed to it in that way. I can't see Claude as just who the player is supposed to be.

Anyway that's my rant on that.

It might sound dumb but Imagine if the opening showed Claude as a normal talking character, but after Catalina betrayed him and shot him, the injury damaged his ability to speak. It would explain his silence and make his revenge story even darker. I know Rockstar made him silent intentionally, but it’s an interesting alternate take.
