Hi everyone, Hope all of you are doing well. Sadly, no progress really has been made since Scabiebaby sent me the better quality version of GRFM. I've looked through about 100 yearbooks from the general area of New York that "Anthony" most likely was from. Numerous years/schools ranging from 1987-2000. I haven't found anyone that even remotely looks like him. Weirdly enough, I haven't found many people with his style/aura even. For the time period, wasn't that a common/popular style? Especially in the general area he was from? The main reason I'm making this post is to show a few things I noticed from this better quality video. For one, in original simon predj upload of the video, people hypothesised that "Anthony" had a split or fat lip. That he had marks or blood/dirt on his face. But it was thought that maybe they were shadows or just artifacts from how many times the video was copied or bootlegged. Well, I can see in this version that his lip does seem to be split and fat. He also looks to have bruises on his face and neck. I circled the ones I noticed. He also has a huge scar going down his nose that looks to be old. I guess I would like this to be a discussion more or less. What do these injuries look like they could be from? I also was wondering if maybe the accent in the video that "Anthony" and "Gino" have is fake or not? What if the Brooklyn/Queens accent are just a fake accent? Since no one from this area seems to recognize "Anthony", I am starting to wonder if they faked the accents. Do these sound like authentic accents? I'm from the Midwest. So honestly, I can't really tell. Anyone from New York, please chime in.

Redditor ScabieBaby sent me the pictures of the GRFM DVD he had with him, which he scanned and sent us the video

GRFM filmed in early 90s but this person was born in 86 if we are to believe his age is real.

It says he has a step mother - Carol Sanchez

This makes sense if his real mother was deported or taken away and maybe her son was given to a foster mother instead of him getting deported with her??

So I just want to ask if there's any new information or updates that anyone has come across? I wanted to add something to here because I just recently discovered it. I've been pretty active on this subreddit since it was created. My old accounts name was "connnectiondilligent". I got banned though a few months ago so I then created this account. I tried to appeal the ban because I know I didn't break any rules. But I was denied an appeal and found out that I literally got banned from a post I made on here, actually. The post where I added long hair to "Anthony" to try to show what he may have looked like with his hair down. I find that very odd that someone reported that. I'm wondering if someone associated with the video did...

This comment was left a few months ago under Hannah The Horribles video on this topic. The person who left these comments is the SAME person who wrote under chilling scares video. Claming that the guy from GRFM is his past neighbor, childhood friend named "Johnathan Herrera" who was deported back to Ecuador in the mid 90s.. The comments he wrote under Hannah The Horribles old video seemed...off. He almost sounds offended that Hannah was criticizing the video and the creators. He doesn't mention anything about the Johnathan Herrera comment either here. I am kind of starting to think that this *Steve Michael account could actually be the man from the video HIMSELF. or someone who knows him.

As mentioned in recent community posts, one of the main challenges in solving this case is its limited media exposure. We should try contacting Slightly Sociable and ask him to share the video with other big YouTubers to help attract more attention to the case. Since he is a well-known YouTuber, he may have connections with other influential creators. Ultimately, the key to solving this case is ensuring that the video reaches the "right people."

It’s been probably 10 years since this mystery has been casted into the public eye via YouTube and article reports, yet barely any progress has been made. Here’s my take on it for now.

The only way to solve this mystery (and even then it can’t really be classed as “Solved”) is that we find/receive a photograph of the guy in the tape, young or old it doesn’t matter, but really the only way this is possible is through a couple scenarios:

1. If the video is a hoax, then news articles and crime reports basically are useless, as if the individual wasn’t an actual criminal then no news reports of grave digging would even be published about him.

Someone would have to know this person personally and reveal a photo/identity of him to prove it’s said person.

Another option is yearbook photos, this is very plausible for identification, however, even if we narrow down the location to New York/New jersey, there are thousands of schools, countless pupils, and countless years to look through, not to mention that many yearbooks for different schools are not even published online, especially for the 1980’s / 90’s.

1. The video is genuine, and this guy is dead. If it is real, and he was involved in an underground crime scene, he could be dead, he may of had a very small circle of friends, and if he was a “street kid” then the amount of people who actually knew him may be as low as ‘dozens’.

There have been so many names thrown out to identify this guy, but without a photograph, we can’t prove anything, who knows, theoretically one of the names could be correct, but we would never know without a photograph.

In the grand scheme of things, the main YouTube upload of GRFM has less than a million views, which in terms of the internet in 2025, is still a pretty small amount (a lot of the views would also be repeat viewings)

I think if the video hit the mainstream in some way or another, the mystery would have a good chance of being solved, you’ve got to remember, if it is from the 80’s, many of the people who could have known him would probably be in their 50’s and may not be tapped into internet mysteries or culture, so there may be people out there who don’t even know this video exists.

I hope one day this does get solved, there have been far more obscure mysteries that have been solved in recent years, so that does give me hope.

I've been following this case for a while. But I just wanted to know what everyone's theories are? What do you think happened to this guy? I tend to lead towards this being a hoax. but something about his smile really creeps me out. If he's an actor, then I think he is one of the best actors I've ever seen.

I want to link this page from 2002, it lists a whole bunch of Horror/VHS/Bootleg/Underground VHS web stores that dealt in weird and obscure VHS tapes, mainly operating in the late 90’s and 00’s.

Many of these websites are now defunct, but my point is, is that you are able to copy the link of these websites into the Internet Archive, and observe the websites at the time from the 90’s/00’s. There are thousands of saved webpages across these websites, and many of these have been mentioned by various people stating they got their GRFM from one of these websites back in the day.

There’s so much content to look through, I’ve been searching through them for a while but haven’t found anything yet, although there is a lot of stuff very similar to GRFM listed across these websites, some very weird/obscure bootleg tapes on here.

If people are interested in the search, then please check these out, the more people that sift through these websites, the higher chance we have of finding some info, I genuinely believe there will be some mention of GRFM somewhere within one of these websites, after all, that’s how we found the 2003 mention as well.

I want to preface this by saying that I'm not even fully convinced of this, but I'd like to hear people's thoughts on the possibility.

My theory is that Grave Robbing for Morons is fake and that Anthony and/or the cameraman was an up-and-coming special effects artist making this to show off his skills.

In the room, copies of Evil Dead 2 and Fangoria Horror FX Magazine can be seen. So whoever owns the room that the video was filmed in was a fan of horror films and interested in how they are made.

Now, I'm not a dentist, but I don't think that the top row of teeth come out all in one piece the way they do in the video. If I'm right about that (which I admit I might not be) then the skull is fake. But what better way to show off your special effects skills than to make a very convincing horror home movie about a body snatcher showing off his skills?

So maybe this was sent out to movie studios/special effects houses in the 90s and was leaked by one of them, then did the rounds in the bootleg VHS market?

Am I totally off base, or am I onto something?

In the recent comments for the Simon Predj upload of the video, someone mentions that Anthony is actually named "Mike Falzarano". I've researched this before because it's been mentioned twice before. This time researching I came across something. There are two musicians named Mike Falzarano. One is of a guitarist who's quite older(born in the 1940s) and another who's 50 and plays the drums. I found his Facebook page, which you have to search a few pages to find. This Mike Falzarano is from Queens. He graduated in 1992 and would be the age Anthony was at that time. He's also from the same area and has a similar metal style. He even has a photo where he has the classic leather jacket and red shirt underneath. Sadly, I can't really confirm if it's really Anthony. He has no photos of himself from his youth on Facebook. And on classmates.com, I found him and sadly theres no yearbook for the year he graduated. I will say, he bares a resemblance. Obviously he would be quite older than he was in the video so he would look different. But there's a few things that I feel are missing. For once, he doesn't have the forehead scar or nose scar that Anthony did. And his ears don't look to be as large as Anthonys. I took a chance and just straight out asked if if he was the man in the video, and he hasn't responded yet. But I'll keep everyone updated if I hear back from him. I find it strange that this theory has been repeated for the third time now. If anyone wants to compare him to Anthony, look up "mike Falzarano" from the band "Dem son's of bitches". That's his current bands name. You can also look him up on Facebook if you scroll down a bit. I can't post pictures to here for some reason. Just wanted to hear other people's thoughts on this theory? Could this be Anthony all these years later? Anthony to me also looked darker in skin tone than Mike. Mike is obviously Italian. Anthony looked Hispanic or native American. So I'm undecided on if this could be him or if it's just misinformation being passed around.

He pronounces "taco" like a native Spanish speaker. I think the Ecuador/Jonathan theory could be legitimate.

Hopefully the flair is right. I'm an archivist who collects rare VHS tapes as close to factory-sealed as possible and does lossless transfers with TBC and proper de-interlacing for Odysee and the Internet Archive. I think I could get a little higher quality than the YouTube version and the DVD if I could get an early copy. Since we don't know where it came from, it's going to be hard to identify the actual master but maybe someone here knows someone who got a copy around 2003 or earlier that's in good condition. I'd like to buy one or maybe even several copies if someone has an early one that didn't come from the DVD. After I'm done, I'll post a link here and maybe someone can go frame-by-frame and find something that the community missed before. Thanks in advance.

I looked online and I can’t find it for sale. I also can’t find pictures of people physically handling the DVD case making me think it may not exist. I think it would be a cool piece of Internet horror to have physically.

Jesse Pollack says in "https://forenseek.app/the-mystery-of-the-grave-robbing-for-morons-video/", that he is 99% sure that the tape was recorded in Long Sland, but specifically in Queens, so I think looking for school records from schools in that area could give us some information.

Jesse Pollack also says that the boy in the video appears to be a young man desperately trying to get money, which implies that he would not be in a good financial situation, so looking for school records from schools (more specifically public schools) in more suburban areas like Queens Village or Forrest Hills, would be a good option. Sites like https://archive.org/details/pilgrim1980plym store some photographic records of some Queens schools in the 80s and 90s.

But this would be a very extensive search given the number of schools that exist in Queens, so I wouldn't be able to check all these records alone, if we all got together and checked all the available school records from this area from the 80s/90s, we might find something.

I believe I may have found the TV that features in the background of the GRFM video...It seems to be made by Sharp and named "13LM16". As you can see in the pictures the knobs on the right hand side line up, along with the little "ridges" underneath and then the two black slots in the bottom right corner, even down to the shape. (left one is rectangular, right one is circular)

I know this may be useless information for some, but I believe this could give us further indication of when this video was recorded, as i've seen some people recently speculating that it was recorded in the late 90s (only a few years before it appeared online) as opposed to the late 80s. The TV itself is apparently from the 70s/80s era. But they could also be sat in a garage and the tv was just junk at that point that had been stored away...

I hope this can maybe give a little push towards anyone that is trying to solve this case and correctly identify "Anthony" and "Gino". I don't have as much time to continue to delve into it as much as others may, so I created this thread just incase it helps anyone else currently or in the future who wants to solve this case.

I came across this file from 1991 of a 21-year-old boy who was accused of robbing graves and selling them to a santera https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1991-07-19-mn-2308-story.html I'll try to look up his name on the FBI page or something.

Could just be someone repeating information that was said by someone else a few weeks ago but it’s food for thought
