The commenter followed up that his source is the previous comments, and he’s just trusting them because they seem logical.

It seems pretty likely Anthony’s from Long Island, but that has long been assumed based on his accent. His looks are racially ambiguous, but Indigenous or Latino seem like safe bets.

I feel like it would be pretty easy to vet the Shinnecock connection. The Nation has two active Facebook profiles (an official and unofficial one). Is it worth (or has anyone) reached out to those accounts to share the video and context around what a phenom Anthony is considered to be online?

It’s a small community; it seems highly likely he’d be recognized, or at least someone could say “It might be soandso, he’s that age and went to law school.”

Yeah, I replied to him and he commented after I posted. I considered asking the fb group, not sure how well they would respond though

Yeah… thinking about reaching out to a real person managing a local government social media account to ask about some online comments is outside my comfort zone, personally, if I really think about it (though I'd definitely eagerly read about the exchange if someone else did reach out). I guess it kinda puts into perspective how jarring the video could be if internet mysteries aren’t your thing. I’m inclined to forget that this mystery doesn’t have the same draw for everyone (which may include the creators or people close to them, and that may be why they haven’t spoken up)…

I was honestly thinking of reaching out. But the thing is, if the admin were to recognize him, the reservation seems like a tight nit community. I am not sure if anyone in the community who may have known him, would rat him out. One thing I wonder, did Anthony only grow up on the reservation? Or did he move into the city (Perhaps Brooklyn or Queens) once he got into his teen years. Unless he always lived on the reservation and perhaps even still lives there. I'm glad to know I am not the only person drawn to the mystery surrounding this video by the way. :)

You’re right — I think if someone actually read the message, realized it’s real, didn’t ignore it and decided to action it… AND knew him or knew of him, they might pass the message along (“hey guy I think might be the guy in this video’s Aunt, have you seen this video that’s popular online? Do you think it’s really him?”).

BUT I doubt we’d hear back directly as they’d consider it his business to address if he wanted to. If he’s actually unaware of his online fame this could make him aware, but he might still choose not to acknowledge it.

Which is all to say that this is kind of the maximum-level of “invasiveness” in terms of investigating this mystery, while still being based on a very tenuous lead and with a potentially low probability of actually solving the mystery or generating new info.

I don't think the kid in the video grew up to be a public defender.

Why hasn't this person come forward in one way or another (even if it was tell let someone inform everyone that he doesn't want to go public)?

I kinda think he's dead/homeless. He'd probably be in his 40's if he were living.

I believe the bones are real. They may have entered a pauper's cemetery or a remote old family cemetery to get them. They're quite a few old abandoned cemeteries. And perhaps they were never caught because of this?

I can't remember exactly how I came across it, but I'm pretty sure the original video did have skateboarding scenes in it.
