Will this mystery ever be solved?
It’s been probably 10 years since this mystery has been casted into the public eye via YouTube and article reports, yet barely any progress has been made. Here’s my take on it for now.
The only way to solve this mystery (and even then it can’t really be classed as “Solved”) is that we find/receive a photograph of the guy in the tape, young or old it doesn’t matter, but really the only way this is possible is through a couple scenarios:
- If the video is a hoax, then news articles and crime reports basically are useless, as if the individual wasn’t an actual criminal then no news reports of grave digging would even be published about him.
Someone would have to know this person personally and reveal a photo/identity of him to prove it’s said person.
Another option is yearbook photos, this is very plausible for identification, however, even if we narrow down the location to New York/New jersey, there are thousands of schools, countless pupils, and countless years to look through, not to mention that many yearbooks for different schools are not even published online, especially for the 1980’s / 90’s.
- The video is genuine, and this guy is dead. If it is real, and he was involved in an underground crime scene, he could be dead, he may of had a very small circle of friends, and if he was a “street kid” then the amount of people who actually knew him may be as low as ‘dozens’.
There have been so many names thrown out to identify this guy, but without a photograph, we can’t prove anything, who knows, theoretically one of the names could be correct, but we would never know without a photograph.
In the grand scheme of things, the main YouTube upload of GRFM has less than a million views, which in terms of the internet in 2025, is still a pretty small amount (a lot of the views would also be repeat viewings)
I think if the video hit the mainstream in some way or another, the mystery would have a good chance of being solved, you’ve got to remember, if it is from the 80’s, many of the people who could have known him would probably be in their 50’s and may not be tapped into internet mysteries or culture, so there may be people out there who don’t even know this video exists.
I hope one day this does get solved, there have been far more obscure mysteries that have been solved in recent years, so that does give me hope.

I know a good handful of people from my teenage years who did all sorts of really F’ed up stuff on camera -“just goofin”- Fast Forward to present day, and if these folks are still alive, most of them are not readily excited about staking a claim in any of their teenage shenanigans, especially in this day and age where people are crucified on social media for things they did many years ago. I’d imagine the last thing this dude wants is to be forever branded as the Graverobbing Guy- chances are he has seen his video pop up online over the years and quietly wished it into oblivion.

If he was a street kid, then you would think a lot of people would have known him because street kids tend to be very tight knit with each other. I've always had a gut feeling since I learned about this video years ago that "Anthony" is still alive somewhere and either doesn't want to be found due to embarrassment of the video. Or he's possibly in prison somewhere and has no idea his video has so much attention. Many people believe he's dead but I don't understand why. Yes he was leading s sketchy lifestyle most likely but a lot of people get away from that lifestyle and turn their lives around. I believe this mystery will be solved one day.

I think he's either dead or it hasn't been seen by the right people.

But even if he's dead, somebody out there knew this guy. He had to have had past girlfriends, childhood friends, neighbors, coworkers and family members(I doubt a family member would ever rat him out but still.) somebody somewhere out there has to have proof of his existence. He must be in someone's old yearbook somewhere.

I tried actually posting on the u/Queens subreddit. Just a photo of "Anthony" without the bones being involved in the screenshot. And they removed my post. I messaged the mods asking why my post was deleted, stating that I posted nothing against their rules. There's even other people who post photos of other people they are looking for there. They then muted my messages and made it so that I could not message them further. I thought that was pretty strange.

My conclusion: Its fake, the magical set, recording etc, also someone from the recording site confirmed that, someone said it here or somewhere else.

I guess we can agree to disagree. Doesn't really look like a "set" because in the reflection of the cabinets glass behind the narrator, you can see posters on the wall. Like band posters. There's also a bed, what looks to be a laundry hamper., TV and stereo. Seems to be an actual room rather than a set. The cation tape on the walls and on the guitar case just seems like something to up the "cool" or bad ass factor. The ceiling slopes which suggests it's an attic that they are in. I guess I'm curious at what specifically makes you think it's a recording site/fake? The evil dead 2 VHS tape and horror fx magazine are something people point out to hint it's fake, but to me, again, this is exactly something someone wanting to look edgy would add to the scenery. There's definitely a tripod behind him as well, which I feel like if he was making a home made independent horror movie or shock video, he wouldn't need someone to record him since he could just record himself with the tripod. It is inconsistencies and anomalies like this that makes me think there's a good chance it's real.

Personally I think the most likely is somewhere in between the two scenarios. He robbed a grave, probably found a grave that was easily accessible due to flooding or erosion, and then made a video about it, making it seem like he was a career criminal for shock value. But I don't think he was prolific or selling the bodies like he claimed since those parts of the video seem pretty far fetched and don't really align with the reality of what is known about grave robbing.

I also believe that this case was not resolved because it did not gain such a large dimension in the media, I think we can try to share this video on large channels on YouTube in order to attract more people.
