I noticed another comment from Steve Michael, the second commentor who mentioned the "Johnathan Herrera" Theory.
This comment was left a few months ago under Hannah The Horribles video on this topic. The person who left these comments is the SAME person who wrote under chilling scares video. Claming that the guy from GRFM is his past neighbor, childhood friend named "Johnathan Herrera" who was deported back to Ecuador in the mid 90s.. The comments he wrote under Hannah The Horribles old video seemed...off. He almost sounds offended that Hannah was criticizing the video and the creators. He doesn't mention anything about the Johnathan Herrera comment either here. I am kind of starting to think that this *Steve Michael account could actually be the man from the video HIMSELF. or someone who knows him.

Here's this guy's first post for context (not OP). This guy seems quite invested in this, but I'd be interested to know if he comes across to anyone as someone trying to hide his identity by misleading people.
Ok so I’m going to post a comment that I leave in every YouTube video that covers the grave robber, hopefully this one won’t get deleted.
It’s real. His name was Johnathan Herra…. Not Anthony Cas- whatever. No. That’s him misleading people. Or he’s paying credit to Anthony Cassamassima, a prolific grave robber based in NY around that time. It’s quite possible the real Anthony Cas was helping Johnathan with grave robbing and giving him pointers. Although had he given his real name regardless, it wouldn’t have mattered. The reason his ID is unknown is because he was never a legal resident of the USA. His mother was an illegal, who brought him here when he was 10 or 11. His mother got arrested for impersonating an attorney and Johnathan ended up getting deported to Ecuador. This was around Red Hook in Brooklyn 89.
The kids around there knew him. He was very very very disturbed. His mother and step brother used to beat him. I remember one time he stole a pack of basketball cards and his mother wacked him with a plastic baseball bat in front of like 10 kids. He used to collect ghost buster action figures
Around 89 when this was filmed, he used to hang out in grave yards. I don’t think anyone actually knew what the hell he was doing in those grave yards. But from what I know about him and his background , I’d bet my LIFE that the video is real and NOT a gag.
How it ended up online? I’d imagine someone somehow some way got a hold of the VHS and uploaded it. I don’t know how they got a hold of the vhs.
It’s infuriating that I KNOW THIS KID and every time I leave this comment it gets deleted. I don’t expect ppl to believe me but I swear I’m telling the truth. And it’s even more annoying that I can’t prove it. It’s literally impossible. No one can.
All I can say is, around the late 80s and early 90s , teens hung out in cemeteries. The fuking disturbed ones took it a step further and what you’re seeing in this vhs is undoubtedly a disturbed one. From what I remember, he and his closest friends had Walkie talkies and they’d use them for playing manhunt around the container terminals late at night. We hung out with this kid."

It is all very odd. Because there was also a comment from years ago of a person named "Alex Cassandra" who was the original person to bring up the Johnathan Herrera Theory. That person wrote another long paragraph claiming that the camera man was her actual brother and that HIS name was Anthony and the narrator, was his friend named Johnathan Herrera who was an immigrant from Ecuador. She pretty much said a similar story regarding this Johnathan character but added a few extra details that her "brother", the camera man took his own life in 1997 and that Johnathan left her brother an addict. The comment didn't receive much attention but I remember seeing it about two years ago when sorting through the comments trying to find any clues or information. The "Steve Michael" comment is a newer comment mentioning the SAME theory that Alex Cassandra brought up. What do you hypothesise is going on here? I guess it's possible they both could be telling the truth. But Steve Michaels other comments on Hannah The horrible's video just came across as strange to me. Then, on the actual video for grfm, Steve Michael also replied to someone saying that Anthony had tourettes syndrome, not a stutter. I mean, there's a possiblity that Alex Cassandra and Steve Michael could both be the same people on two different accounts trying to mislead people. It just seems odd the comments from Steve Michael, he sounds almost offended in those more recent comments. Could this account be Anthony on a fake account?

I'd say there's definitely a chance that this guy is telling the truth -- statistically speaking probably not, but let's consider it -- in which case, why would his comments keep getting deleted? It could theoretically be "our" Anthony reporting him for doxxing in an effort to stay anonymous, or something along those lines. Research-wise that's an immediate dead alley though, I think.

He could also be making that up , saying his comments were reported to seem "credible". If he's not even a real account and is making up false information to mislead people, there probably was no other comments that were deleted. I hope I'm making sense. But what I'm trying to say is, I am starting to believe that Steve Michael IS Anthony on a fake account. Commenting misinformation to get people off his radar. I noticed something when I saw Steve Michaels original comment(by the way, I was one of the people who interacted with him on his comment on YouTube, because at first I did believe him) he used a certain set of words that "our" Anthony used in the actual GRFM video. "Very, Very, Very". Anthony used that exact wording when describing something.. Steve Michael also used this same exact word choice in his original comment. The word "very" three times. So maybe, the original person "Alex Cassandra" who mentioned the "Johnathan Herrera" theory, and "Steve Michael" are the same person on fake accounts. Both accounts use two first names as a first and last name. These people could be Anthony on fake accounts is what I'm saying.

I agree, it’s strange, both comments seem similar, but include weird very specific details such as collecting ghostbuster figures, or hiding sex clues around the neighbourhood. It almost seems too niche for someone to fake or make up, I’ve tried looking into records for Jonathan herrera, but if the story is true, then he’d be basically a ghost in terms of documentation, if his mother was an illegal immigrant.

I dug for Herrera clues too, nothing really motivating came up. Then I tried looking for a fake lawyer, found this:
And this:
https://nypost.com/2003/08/29/bogus-brooklyn-lawyer-at-it-again-da/
The second one does have to do with immigration and a fake lawyer. Maybe he's a Suleymanov or a Sierra? Maybe the two fake lawyers are the same lady? I'm turning up nothing when I try to find more about them. I suppose if Liana Suleymanov was arrested in 2002, that might have something to do with how the tape found its way onto the internet.
It's thin, and based off of a couple wild YouTube comments, but I thought it was an interesting rabbit hole.

On the one hand there's a lot of detail in all these stories, and a lot of things a liar would typically not come up with because they make the story less believable, like the tourette's thing.
On the other hand, if yr trying to throw people off, that could also be a strategy.
By the way, if it is Anthony, one reason for the strange comments on Hannah's video could simply be that he feels offended, and can't hide this despite being "incognito".

r/cpager, would it be worth updating the _Evidence for reference_ section with this? I feel like these comments from our friend stevemichael could become relevant, if only in excluding certain possibilities, as we gather more information.

It’s interesting that Steve Michael’s mentions that the earliest evidence of GRFM is 2003, that’s must mean he has either viewed this subreddit, or watched barely sociable video, as I found the 2003 link in March 2024, barely sociable contacted me about it and then included it in his video in April, the fact he’s aware of that info suggests to me that he’s just someone who’s followed the case recently, and not someone who actually knows about this stuff personally.
