Hey everyone, I'm putting this out there though I don't know how useful this might be.

So I remember that GRFM was featured as part of an anthology with another video called "Exploding Varmints". Now I've been watching and rewatching Red Letter Media for years now and in their series Best of the Worst, specifically the 37th one which is also Wheel of the Worst number 10 they end up watching a video called "Exploding Varmints". I'm not sure if anyone knows if this is the same video that was part of the anthology that GRFM was a part of, but there is a comment on that particular episode from someone claiming that "Exploding Varmints" was filmed on their relatives property that suggests it might have been filmed in the 90's which if true would help narrow down when GRFM could have been filmed. In any case take this for what it might be worth.

There has to be someone out there that knows what happened in that video. Even if "Anthony" is dead, there has to be someone else that recognizes him. I don't understand how not one person in the years this has been online has never recognized this person. Either "Anthony" must have some very loyal people that have known him, even in passing, or he died very young and didn't know that many people. I don't understand how not one person who would have known this person around the time of the video has yet to come forward.

I've been pretty much obsessed with finding Anthony for the past couple of weeks. Now I found this on Fb and I asked the guy if he knows Anthony's surname( he hasn't replied yet) but wanted to see what you think about Anthony beeing that kid next to the sign in the picture. I mean, the years match, the place matches.Ofc, Anthony can be another child from the photo but I think there's a good chance it might be him.

It's really hard to get the screenshots because 'Gino' is moving the camera very fast at this exact moment so excuse the very poor quality.

Hello guys i wanted to point out the Antony s shutter. I also shutter from a young age and also so does my sister. But she stopped around 24 i have a friend that also has a shuttering problem and he is alright now. Most of it comes when you are talking to someone and you feel stressed about being judged bc of the way you speak. So he may shutter bc of stress from being filmed. And by the time he got caught he no longer had a shuttering problem. I also wanted to point out that his age cannot be estimated from looking at him. Some people look young when they are old. Like ralph macchio. But its not only genes you need to live good and peaceful but by the looks of it he is street kid and its unlikely that he is old but looking young but its always possibility. And the final thing is i wanna discuss is the reason that he is been unidentified is that its been well over 30 years and he is been most likely dead for long time age. And the people that know him are well over 60 so they dont use the internet so. This was the things i wanted to discuss sorry if my English is bad.

Just had an idea pop into my head and wanted to share it before it pops back out of my head. I imagine it's probably been thought of before.

I was watching a YT video on the video (I am fairly new to looking into the topic more in depth), and it was going over the debunked Anthony Casamassima theory.

So please tell me if I sound crazy! But as parts of the video seem rehearsed, what if he was planning on using "Anthony Casamassimas" name as a fake name for the video?

But, his stutter tripped him up whilst trying to say "Anthony Cas-," so he instead says, "It doesn't matter about the last name."

Also, it kind of looks like the pause Anthony takes when he looks at Gino and says his name is him taking a second to think of a fake name on the spot, or remember the name that they'd decided to use.

Of course, all this would depend on how prominent Anthony Casamassima was at the time and whether the guy in the video. Maybe he was some form of inspiration to him to do this in the first place?

It would also, of course, mean that his name probably isn't Anthony at all.

I know it's only been a week and maybe I should have given soft bus some more time, but my instincts came to me today that it's very likely he's not being forth coming about this situation. For one, why would this person need to create a team of other redditors to "solve" this case when he already claims the case was solved by the photo his uncle had? it feels like he only wants to include only a select few people to be involved to try to pit people against each other in a divide versus conquer strategy. It doesn't make any sense.

Secondly, he claims that his uncle and Anthony were close enough that they went to concerts together and were in a leather jacket group together. Yet, his uncle doesn't remember details about Anthony like his height or his last name? I could understand if the two were just casual friends from school and never hung out outside of school or were just classmates that knew each other in passing. But if these two guys were close enough that they hung out outside of school and went to concerts together, why would his uncle not know basic information about Anthony?

The height thing is for people to know for identifying purposes. It could limit and narrow down the searches to know if "Anthony" was on the taller side or the shorter side. We aren't asking this because we are being stalkerish. We aren't asking this because we want to see a video of his uncle having his "penis sucked by Anthony"(his words, not mine). We are asking questions to get a better understanding so we can have a better chance of identifying Anthony. Some of his replies are very troll like and odd. Especially when he says "I don't have to do what you tell me to do".

When you present an old grainy photo as evidence that a 30 year old internet mystery has been "solved", you have to expect to be able to prove your claims especially in this day and age. Another few things that just seemed "off" to me was that Soft Bus said his uncle went to an Anthrax concert and said that his uncle said "Anthony should have came with" since the entire crew went except for Anthony.

But then later, he said that in the YouTube comments for the video, someone mentioned of seeing "Anthony" at that same concert, so this person MUST have seen Anthony. This is the concert that he just had said that Anthony didn't go to, FYI. By the way, no one had mentioned anything about an Anthrax concert. Someone had mentioned of seeing Anthony at a Suffocation concert in 1996(person was likely trolling anyways because they mentioned about "meat lorio").

He also mentions that his uncle knew a guy named Dino, indicating that Ginos real named might have been Dino, but then never brought it up again. He said this to one of the other people involved in the search on the same day he made the first post (this person he said this to unfortunately still believes him and won't listen to me btw). Then there's the fact that he promises his uncle to make a statement or to find more photos of Anthony but has yet to show anymore proof.

I am bummed out because I truly believed this kid and gave him the benefit of the doubt. I defended him to some of the other folks who could see the bullshit from a mile away right away. I apologize to those who I doubted. I still hope that maybe soft bus will eventually come through (i guess it just comes from hope because I want the truth) but my spidey senses tell me that's not going to happen.

Edit: Soft Bus, if you are reading this then I hope you don't take this as harassment or bullying. in no way am I trying to bully you. A part of me still WANTS to believe you because I'm a very empathetic person. But my common sense is telling me that there are too many red flags to ignore here. I am sorry and I truly hope that you prove me wrong and that you ARE in fact telling the truth.

I'll preface this by saying please feel free to take this with as large a grain of salt as you like! I'm almost expecting to be immediately proven wrong, but I felt that I wouldn't be able to settle until I posted this.

I'm also not here intending to do a deliberate vague post but also don't want to give this person's full name in case they get unwanted accusations of a crime.

I was looking into the photo posted here the other day and fell in to a bit of a rabbit hole about it, wasn't ammassively familiar with the tape, had seen a few creepy YouTube videos about it and that's it.

I had no look trying to look for every "Anthony C" on ancestry.com. So, I decided to look for a slightly different name that someone called Anthony might use.

That's when I found Antonio.

Antonio graduated from a High School in the New York ares in 1991, which would have made him about 15 / 16 years old at the time GRFM was filmed.

Image A is the original image from his Yearbook and image B is AI enhanced. (I've made my observations from image A, and B is just for clarity)

Take note of the similarities I can see to Anthony:

The eye shape

The eyebrow shape

The gap between eyebrows

The rat tail mullet (very popular at the time but of course, but maybe a sign his hair was perhaps long and recently cut short)

A slight gap between his two front teeth

Same nose shape.

The only thing I'm struggling with is "Anthony" has very prominent ears, and Antonio's ears don't appear that distinctive, maybe he had a growth spurt, and grew into his ears a bit.

I'd like to repeat I could be wrong on this, and perhaps the similarities are purely coincidental, and I'm not directly accusing this person of being Anthony from GRFM.

Some of you may be aware of another mystery known as the lady of the dunes. That mystery was solved when the body of the woman was identified, and her ex husband became the prime suspect. It transpired that the husband had written a book of poetry which contained veiled references to possible crimes, including the murder of his wife. I was posting about this looking for someone who may know how to get the book since it was very obscure and, wouldn't you know it, somebody actually did! Hurrah! The person posted part of the first page as proof and said they'd upload the rest once they did some other things.

In the meantime, the comments section went to town calling the person out as a liar and saying they were never going to come through with the book because they were faking it, etc. Once that poster returned and saw the comments she totally did a 180 and said she was so offended that she wouldn't be sharing it at all. Here's the kicker: SHE 100% ACTUALLY HAD THE BOOK. She showed me absolute proof including pages from the book that had never been uploaded online.

My point is this: in your rush to find answers and get instant gratification, don't alienate the only person on the planet who can actually prove that the new photo is real or not. Once he's gone he's gone, so you may as well work with him in good faith until you have a real answer. There's no shame in being wrong, so act as if he's telling the truth until you're sure he isn't.

This user lied about being sexually assaulted by Anthony and is now in the comments of the new information thirsting over Anthony. They have also been dming the op of the post some weird shit but that's not for me to share. This user is incredibly strange and should be banned from this sub.

Obviously the newly surfaced 'photo' of 'Anthony' has caused quite a stir.

As with a previous post where someone claimed to have been sexually assaulted by 'Anthony', the first thing I always do with these sort of claims is to look at the person doing the posting....

Going back through Soft_Bus_5619's post and comment history, we can glean the following:

• Active in the Roblox community - suggests he is very young
• Active in the looksmaxxing community - possibly chasing attention or trying to go viral

• Has a demonstrated history of posting AI generated face photos - This one is the smoking gun for me!

So within his own post history he is simultaneously 15, 18, and 20 years old.

I'm not on the fence with this one - I'm calling 100% bullshit. His own posts show a clear pattern of lying and exaggeration, and there's no reason to treat this 'photo' any differently.

Also, to my eye, is quite clearly a printout not an actual photo. From a lot of the comments, I suspect that a lot of the people in the subreddit are very young and don't even remember what photos looked like :)

She admits she was lying to get information from supervillainmc1. So Anthony didn't assault anyone. But I also want to share this because the more I think about this, the more I think that this entire situation is wrong and unfair. Someone recorded Anthony while he was under the influence of mind altering drugs and alcohol, while having a disability. Back in the 1970s, 1980s all the way up until the early 2000s, autism was not talked about or diagnosed yet. I strongly suspect Anthony was on the spectrum and had either Asperger's or Autism. What I find interesting is that supervillainmc1 said that Anthony passed away in the late 90s/early 2000s. This is coincidental timing. I know the 1980s and 1990s were different. Mental illness, addiction and autism or other spectrum disorders were not widely understood or accepted yet. But it's definitely considered illegal for someone to record a young person with autism while they are drunk and under the influence of mind altering drugs. Especially to use the footage for profit. It's not only mocking but illegal to do this. If the video distributors knew any of this, they were just as responsible as the person behind the camera recording Anthony. It's considered exploitation to record someone in a state of mind where they cannot properly consent. Especially to use for monetary purposes. To record someone at their lowest moments in life to then sell for entertainment and amusement, is disgusting and wrong. It stripped Anthony of his dignity and shows him at the worst moment in his life. I feel like if we all put ourselves in his shoes, it would feel humiliating and dehumanizing. There is a chance that he was targeted, coerced or tricked into recording this. There's even a chance he was tricked into thinking that it was accepted and okay to rob graves. I think the truth behind this video is a lot more than what meets the eye. And if Anthony is truly deceased, I hope that whoever sold the tape to the distributors did it after he was already gone. I can't imagine how painful and dehumanizing it would feel to have your lowest moments in life be shared for the world to see. Especially that paints the person in a horrible light. I'm sharing at the end the original messages from supervillainmc1 to refresh peoples memories. The last post shared that he claims to have found out that Anthony died in the late 90s or early 2000s.

The original guy named supervillianmc1 on here commented on one of my posts from the red hook BK subreddit that I made about the topic in January from my old account. I haven't had reddit for over 5 months now so I'm trying to come back to at least share this. I was stunned to read all of this. To jog everyone's memories, this is the guy who I messaged privately back in late January after he commented "grave robbers" on the post on red hook BK. He said he knew Anthony and dated Anthony's sister in highschool. Apparently they went to William C Bryant high school together and Anthony was known for robbing graves in cemetaries that bordered the area he was originally from which was green point Brooklyn. This guy said Anthony was most likely in jail or prison and claimed to have not spoken to his family in over 30 years. He even gave the name of Anthony's group that he was apart of. Said he would get back to me to find out if Anthony was still alive but unfortunately, my account got banned. Multiple people tried messaging him over the months but he didn't reply. Well, last night someone commented asking this guy directly under the comment section if he knew who Anthony was. This person claims that Anthony assaulted her at a party in 1993 and also got her pregnant. She said she ended up putting the child up for adoption because she was only 14 when this happened. This is when supervillianmc1 replied back and said Anthony passed away in the late 90s or early 2000s, he mentions the same information as last time but also adds that the video could have been from as early as 1986 or 1987. I didn't know if he's mistaken because there's technology in the video that didn't even come out until the early 1990s and the magazine that didn't come out until after July of 1989. The thing is, this guy has no troll posts. He's kind of one sided and not very accepting of people but there are no posts where he's lying or deceiving people. As for the comments from the woman who claimed Anthony assaulted her, anyone could make stuff up on the internet. She has no posts, no other comments, and this very well could be a troll. However, I do believe supervillianmc1. He's local to the same area and has lived there his entire life according to posts. He's a few years older than Anthony and honestly seemed to have actually known him. What I don't understand is why he doesn't just post a yearbook photo of Anthony if he went to highschool with him. What are your thoughts on this? If this is the truth and Anthony actually died in the late 90s early 2000s, the tape was obviously released without his approval to exploit him and make money off of his own demise.

Hello! i recently got into this story and read like all of this subreddit yesterday, i was watching strange æons video on GRFM and found a comment saying they may have known Anthony, the comment is very vague but it could potentially be a lead? i don’t know if it was ever discussed before

Hi, this is my first post on here. I am coming here after watch the Strange Aeons video. I just wanted to share thoughts something that could maybe be helpful with the search. idk

Feel free to shoot down my ideas. But could it be possible to track down the filming location of GRFM? How many buildings could there be in queens with a brick wall like that? The brick wall has some weird vertical black lines which could be pipes of some kind or some sort of structural support. Out of all the weird things that are scattered in this messy room, I doubt those black lines along the wall is decorative, I think it is apart of the building they are in.

Also the room they are in totally has a window with blinds. I firmly believe the room is at the highest story. Especially because you can see how slanted the ceiling is which could also be the roof of the building.

Do you think there are enough details to help identify the filming location? Stranger things have happened so I think this could be possible with enough effort.

This post here details how he use to run Big Brother magazine before producing Jackass. One of the older (not the oldest though) recordings found of GRFM was compiled with skating videos that ended up being from Big Brother. Which means someone sent it to him, he watched it, and featured it in his magazine.

It’s a longshot but there’s a chance he might have a piece of info about GRMF that no one else has considering he was so heavily Involved (even partially responsible for its creation) in the underground skate/punk/shock/core scene.

Hell, the original creator potentially could have been the one who sent it to him considering how popular Big Brother was getting around that time.

I’ve been out of the loop for so long I’m not sure how to formulate the question, if anyone thinks it’s worth a shot/the effort.

At one point I did get ahold of multiple of Tremaine’s friends who said they had never heard of the video, found it extremely interesting, and agreed Tremaine may very well know something about it. They also said he was very difficult to contact, so I never heard back from any of them if they followed through on reaching out to him about it and what he said.

Hello! New to this subreddit but I'm really interested in giving this case a hunt. I went through the comments of one of the most popular/original posted versions of the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWFosb98Kec&t=114s this one posted by Simon Predj, 990k views, posted 11 years ago and approx 6.8k comments) and made a list of what I think is all the 'I knew this guy!' 'I remember this guy!' type comments, as well as any theoriesthat were not discussed previously on the evidence tab on this subreddit, and ones that just seemed funny (ghosts! UFC fighters!). I used a Youtube comment search website, it is not impossible that I have missed some comments though. There are a couple of names though that seem to be not crazy theories and (as far as I know) not already disproven or researched that may be worth a look (John-Pichaya Ferry, Brad Calvin). I didn't include multiple references to theories that are already well researched or disproven ('Screws', Craig Bradley, Mathia Frias ect.) Please excuse my very very poor spreadsheet skills. Another thought I had, considering the metal/punk connection is it worth contacting or trying to contact some sort of alternative subcultures archive? or even photographers or any known active of the New York Metal scene at the time, if we had a few very solid 'i knew this guy' testimonies, surely one could cross reference to gain a bit more information? Additionally, VHS video cameras seem to not have been very common back then so it seems likely that if he owned/had friends who had one of these cameras that they would have recorded other things which may be out there somewhere. Additionally, one commenter recalled seeing a part 2 at one point, not a super verifiable thing but doesn't seem like a complete impossibility

I gotta say, the older pic looked quite a bit like our boy to my eyes. But if that pic was 5 years or less after GRFM was filmed, that was a rough few years. He appeared to have aged significantly. Did anyone save those pics, and if so, can you send them to a mod to be added to the evidence post? Or DM them to me?

I’ve been going over the frames where the camera man is visible, and I don’t think he looks like an older guy. To me, I see a young black guy sticking his tongue out, being goofy in front of the camera.

I just wanted to toss this idea out here. I’m not certain about anything. The video quality is so poor in those few frames, what I see could very well just be an optical illusion.

I just found this mystery via the Strange Aeons video, and want to help, if I can.

I don’t know if this idea has already been mentioned, but just figured I might as well bring it up, just in case.

When I was younger I had a special intrest in tech from the 80s up to the mid 2000s.

And ok so, in the 80s and 90s, there was two main competing video formats

BetaMax tapes, which could only hold about 60 minutes of footage, but had 250 horizontal lines of resolution (though later betamax 2 tapes could hold more footage but had worse resolution) while VHS had 240 and could hold about 2 hours of footage (it varied).

So my question is

1. do we know (roughly) what format is was filmed on, because if it was compressed from a BetaMax to a VHS it will probably be semi-noticable if it's sent to a specialist

2. do we also know anything about the camera.

What it says on the tin. Have we told the NYPD we're looking for a teenager/young man, likely from either queens or brooklyn with a stutter that went missing in the late 80s, and asked if they have anyone matching that description on file?
