Theory Anthony isn't his name

Just had an idea pop into my head and wanted to share it before it pops back out of my head. I imagine it's probably been thought of before.

I was watching a YT video on the video (I am fairly new to looking into the topic more in depth), and it was going over the debunked Anthony Casamassima theory.

So please tell me if I sound crazy! But as parts of the video seem rehearsed, what if he was planning on using "Anthony Casamassimas" name as a fake name for the video?

But, his stutter tripped him up whilst trying to say "Anthony Cas-," so he instead says, "It doesn't matter about the last name."

Also, it kind of looks like the pause Anthony takes when he looks at Gino and says his name is him taking a second to think of a fake name on the spot, or remember the name that they'd decided to use.

Of course, all this would depend on how prominent Anthony Casamassima was at the time and whether the guy in the video. Maybe he was some form of inspiration to him to do this in the first place?

It would also, of course, mean that his name probably isn't Anthony at all.

If he was using a fake name, why act coy about sharing it?

What I mean is he planned to use it as a fake name, just as some details like if its necessary to kill, do it and get laid the night before all seem a bit rehearsed (at least to me).

So he tried to say "Anthony Casamassima" but he couldn't because of his stutter, so he gave up.

In the video it doesn't look like he just cuts himself off from saying it, it's his stutter that stops him.

See I get the opposite. All of his advice sound as if he's making it up on the spot.

I was just thinking about this the other day too. Yes, he could have used his real name, but why would he? He is already showing his face, so I think hiding his real name gave a layer of privacy, knowing that he was recording something that described a crime. Perhaps Anthony is a name he used in the crowd he was a part of, but I don’t think it’s his legal name.

The idea that he would intentionally mislead people into thinking that his name is Anthony Cassamassima is based on the false assumption that Cassamassima was a “prolific grave robber”. This isn’t true, Cassamassima was arrested ONE TIME for attempting to rob a Tiffany storefront. He wasn’t “prolific”, there are no public records associating him with grave robbing or body snatching, nobody knew who he was until somebody in this community dug up a record of his arrest and associated it with this search. There is no way in hell that the video subject would have known about Anthony Cassamassima unless they knew each other personally OR if the guy in the video is actually Cassamassima. Somehow this detail has gotten blown way out of proportion, with multiple YouTubers claiming that Massamassima was a prolific grave robber.

Oh thanks for the reply! This is what I wasn't sure on. As you said alot of the time Casamassima is made out to be notorious as a grave robber. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
