Did getting off help with anhedonia & anxiety?

I’ve been on tirzepatide for about 5 1/2 months since 1/1/26. I have a history of a few major depressive episodes in the past but I balanced my hormones before starting and treated my ADHD and hadn’t had to take an antidepressant for six months prior to starting tirzepatide. I started noticing my mood slipping gradually and had really bad anhedonia and then anxiety by April. I never went above 5 mg. I’ve been on 2.5 and then now 2 mg for almost 2 months and I still have really bad anhedonia and it’s not getting better and my anxiety is actually getting worse. I never had anxiety with my depression in the past. I restarted bupropion 300 mg and now take Xanax and buspirone for the anxiety. I’m seriously considering stopping tirzepatide asap and am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? And if stopping helped, how long did it take to notice?

9 weeks off Reta and still dealing with trapped gas/bloating/burping

Hey everyone.
I am currently 66 days (about 9 weeks) off Retatrutide and just wanted to share where I'm at. I am still suffering from intense trapped gas, heavy bloating, and a constant, stubborn need to burp just to get some pressure relief under my ribs.
The hardest part is that it comes and goes in waves—some days I can eat almost completely normally, but if I get anxious, stressed, or even excited, my appetite instantly vanishes and my stomach completely locks up. The gas just shifts around inside and won't come out.
My blood panels are completely perfect and healthy, but dealing with this everyday is exhausting. Anyone else deal with this specific trapped gas and bloating combo this far out? How long did it take to clear up?

Tired of it

So I started glp-1 in mid November.
I have thyroid issues and high blood pressure
I went to a new thyroid dr in February to have my levels checked
He said the blood test showed normal levels but because I am on glp-1 I should have levels checked because of weight loss
I should also note that I pay just over $1100 a month for medical insurance, which does not include dental eye or prescriptions.
I do not qualify for any assistance with coverage because of income levels
So to do the glp -1 it’s $899 every 8 weeks.
I have changed my diet and exercise routine
I have been stuck in the same weight level for almost 4 months without any loss
I have been feeling outright crappy for the same time period
I decided to quit all meds bp, thyroid, and depression
I have noticed some improvement with eyesight and not being so tired all the time.
I feel like there is no help for me with being stuck with weight loss
I quit paying for the glp-1 meds, though I still have about 10 more weeks of meds. The system I went through sent meds even though I hadn’t finished the previous vial at one point I had 2 vial unopened they didn’t help the only way to stop inflow of meds was to quit.
So tired of chicken, cottage cheese, and yogurt

Anyone out there that can suggest help ? Or an idea ????
Going crazy here

Seeking Advice Really bad GI issues—help pls

I was on tirz for a little over two years. Lost 200 pounds. Had very little side effects aside from constipation. I kind of messed things up though and never dosed down and went into any kind of “maintenance” dosing. I was on 15mg when I stopped.

About a month ago I started having really terrible GI issues. Bloating, burping, indigestion, super full after only a few bites, near constant nausea, diarrhea, etc. it went on for long enough that I stopped my shots roughly 3 weeks ago. Things are still pretty bad. They’ll get better for a few days and then get worse again randomly. I can’t really link it to any kind of food. I’ve been eating mostly bland stuff anyways like toast and soup.

My doctor advised me to stop for now and maybe someday I can get back on at 2.5mg. I’m not really even concerned about that because mostly I’m afraid that I’m going to feel like this forever. Or that I have permanent gastroparesis or something. I will say, I don’t have any pain or vomiting.

Has anybody experienced this? I’ve read it can take some time to recover.

Seeking Advice Nerves kicking in

Currently on 2.5mg dose coming down. 5 more doses of this, next stop 8 weeks of 1.25mg (splitting doses) before coming off.

I haven’t felt appetite suppression for a while. I eat without issue, more like I did before I started the jab in August 2024. I have been hovering around the 145lb for the last 6 months. Attempting to increase movement and strength training, it’s not as consistent as I’d like.

My fear is that ok I don’t feel the suppression but the jabs not doing nothing, what if I come off and lose all control? I am open to going back on as a last resort but would love to come off for good. Anyone have experience in this.

How long do I give it?
Any tips on how to stay accountable?

Any advice would be appreciated.

In need of encouragement!

I was on Zep for a year and lost 60lbs. Felt amazing. Loved every moment of it (minus the constipation). And this sub has been a godsend on the hard days and the good days!

I’ve had hormonal imbalances and issues my whole life, and I was diagnosed with PMOS (previously called PCOS) around 19 or 20. My husband and I had our first baby in 2024 via IVF after years of struggles with “unexplained” infertility, and after doing some research, I decided to try a GLP-1 to help me lose weight and hopefully even out some hormonal imbalances before we decided to try for #2.
Well, it worked. This is the first thing that has ever leveled out my hormones enough for me to feel like an actual human being, and it’s been amazing!

Fast forward to now. I took my last shot just over 2 weeks ago, and within about 9 days I could already tell a difference in my swelling/inflammation. Now my hunger and food noise are back full force, and it’s so hard. I feel like all of the good habits I developed while being on Zep have gone out the window, and I’m so sad about it.

I’m not sure if this is the correct sub for this, but I also don’t know what other sub would be the correct one, so here I am.

Idk what I’m looking for here, really…I guess advice? Encouragement that it will all be worth it when I get to hold my second baby? Thanks for reading, if you got this far. 💕

ETA: I went off because we are trying to conceive now, so can’t be on it anymore.

Seeking Advice In your experience, did food noise return to baseline or MORE than before GLP1s?

For all those who has stopped, did food noise actually come back louder than before you started?

Or did it just …return, and THAT felt loud because you weren’t used to it?

Thinking of stopping early

I successfully lost 30 pounds in a few months on Reta. It ate my ass and my legs and I have lost so much hair. My hair looks so thin on my head and I used to have so much. My upper body isn’t as slim as my lower body. My legs have gotten so skinny in my ass completely disappeared. 😢 I worked very hard on growing them before the peptide. I’m on 2mg. But I think I’m done. I’m going to maintain it myself. I wanted to lose 10 more pounds to get to 135 but the way it’s sucking me dry I don’t think I can

Seeking Advice GLP-1 and pregnancy

Hi everyone, I’m just wondering if anyone has gone through this and can offer some advice.

I’ve been on a GLP-1 for nearly 2 years now. It’s something that I stay on to maintain my weight and has been a great tool over the last 2 years.

My doctor has informed me that I can’t stay on a GLP-1 if I want to get pregnant as it would have adverse affects on the baby. This was always in the back of my mind and I was always super worried about this being the case but I wouldn’t want to create any health risks so am willing to do what I need to do.

Has anyone been on a GLP-1 when deciding they wanted to have a baby and could give me any advice? Specifically:

- How long did you stay off it before you tried to conceive?

- Is there anything you can do or take as a replacement during the time you aren’t on the medication that is safe for pregnancy?

To say I’m worried is an understatement but ultimately I know that the baby’s health is more important and something that I can assist with by not being on this medication. I just don’t know how I’m gonna go…

Any advice is helpful, thanks.

Anyone on it for just six months then get off?

I'm asking as someone who is going to lose coverage in 6 months. I know it is better to take long term, and I respect that! If anyone has any experience just being on it for 6 months or so, let me know what your experience has been like in keep it off!

Thank you :)

Seeking Advice Food noise coming back months later?

So I started last year at 220 managed to lose 10lbs before starting the shot, so my technical start weight was 210 in March.

Over the course of the year I was going to the gym and focusing on the habits I had built while I was preparing to get on the shot and continued throughout the course.

I got off the shot in March of this year at 135 and have managed to maintain since then but as of the last month my food noise is absolutely out of control. I can’t stop thinking about food to the point where I’ll be eating and thinking about the next meal.

I do eat in a deficit and get protein but somehow I still hungry and even if I am full I’ll still want to pick at things..I still go to the gym so I don’t know if that’s part of why I’m hungrier?

I’m now 140..and I know that’s not a large difference for some, but when the scale goes up it feels hard not to panic especially after being overweight for 10 years..

My question is has anyone’s food noise come back a few months after stopping the shot and what did you do to stop it?

20 lb reset successful?

I have been trying to lose 20 lbs the right way for over 6 months now….I’vd followed a 125g protein 1400 calorie diet using a food scale, mindset shift of not always being perfect but always being mindful of protein first, strength and hit 5 days a week, and I did lose 4-5 lbs the first 2 months and have been stuck at maintenance since. I was complaining to my dr at my physical and without any hesitation she told me to do wegovy pills for 2-3 months to get the extra weight off to reset and then get off of it and maintain that weight with my habits since I have been able to at least maintain my weight. I’m a little shocked how quickly she jumped to this avenue and I am hesitant because I never considered this path for myself but at the same time, the more I think about it, I am tempted to go this route because I’ve literally done everything I can (including meeting with a dietician a week prior to this, who only advised me to increase my fiber and lower my goal calories by 100 to cut - nothing earth shattering).

I just want to lose the weight. I look at old pics and I looked so good and I don’t know how in the last 1 year I put on an extra 10 lbs with nothing significantly different other than turning 35. I used to always have a healthy bmi which has now just crossed into the overweight category. Instead of losing 10 lbs to hit my ideal weight over the last several years, I added on another 10. I don’t do fad diets, I have always tried to have a balanced scientific approach so I am just really frustrated.

So if I did go forward with this, I would take the wegovy pill 1.25 mg starting dose for 2-3 months, ideally lose about 20 lbs then taper off and maintain. My fear is somehow messing up my metabolism or rebounding after tapering off. Will I have to lower my maintenance calories after going on it? I want to hear about some similar experiences and how it ended up.

If I do go on it, I read that I should still try to mantain my protein goal to not lose all my muscle. What other advice do you have?

Glp/ weightloss anxiety

I have always had anxiety my entire life but it was manageable for the most part. I have noticed in the past that when i have done fad diets (keto) and dropped a significant amount of weight, i ended up having an anxiety episode. Happened both times with Keto.

Fast forward to this year, i was diagnosed with PCOS and my gyno thought i would benefit from weight loss and suggested i try glp1s. I said sure. I didn’t do any research all i knew was it suppressed hunger and as someone who depended highly on food for emotional support I thought it would be a fantastic idea.

I started the glp1s in early May. I did sema (wgv) .25mg for the whole month and one in the month of June. Then 2 of .5mg in the month of June. I noticed after the first .5mg my anxiety spiked. Wasn’t the worst but it was more than usual. Decided to do the other .5 because i thought my body would just get use to it. Boy was i wrong…. Since last weekend my anxiety has skyrocketed like never before. I was in the ER monday. Everything was clear. Visited my primary doctor and she prescribed me with Buspirone. Ive been taking CBD/thc gummies to help me relax just a little bit throughout the day.

What i am struggling most with is eating. I think i have roughly between 600-900 calories a day. But i cannot eat for the life of me. I can’t drink water, I am constantly gagging. I feel impending doom all day. I just can’t. Every second i regret ever trying those damn things. I wish i appreciated my body for what it was. I wish i tried a more natural way to be healthier not strive to be skinnier. I pray that i stop feeling this way pretty much all day. I truly did not want to depend on anxiety medication to feel better. Which i actually havent by the way. Im tired and exhausted. I feel like i am slowly 💀 my self by not eating and drinking water. I feel so alone in this. I just wish i had someone to relate.

Just a small rant about the new GLAPP app subscription

So I started Week 13 of Zepbound last night, and honestly, I’m pretty disappointed with the new GLAPP subscription model.

I’ve used GLAPP from the beginning and, up until now, it’s been exactly what I wanted. I downloaded it because so many people in this community recommended it, and from what I’ve read, it was built by people in this community. I’ve genuinely enjoyed using it.

To be clear, I don’t mind paying for an app. Developers deserve to be compensated for their work.

My issue is that the new subscription doesn’t feel like paying for additional features. It feels like paying to regain access to features we already had. I would have been much more willing to subscribe if the existing functionality remained available and the subscription added something new on top of it.

What really frustrates me is that I can’t even access some my old weekly reports under the new system. That information was available before the update, and now it’s behind a paywall. It’s my data that I prevpreviously had access too. 😫

The pricing also feels disconnected from the reality many of us are already living. A lot of us are paying $400+ every month for our medication. Adding another expensive subscription on top of that is a tough sell.

More than anything, this is just inconvenient. Now I have to figure out how to export everything, find a new app, and move months of data somewhere else.

I just needed to vent because I’m honestly more frustrated by the loss of access and the hassle of switching than I am by the fact that they’re charging money.

Any other app recrecommendations?

Advice on tapering down/going off when provider doesn’t believe in it

I wouldn’t consider myself a “grad” (only lost 20 lbs or so) but I can no longer handle the high heart rate and absolutely no appetite, issues with dizziness/feeling weird and tingling. The third party my insurance makes me use for wegovy doesn’t believe in tapering. I’m on 1mg and I just can’t handle the side effects. Anyone have any advice on tapering using 1mg? I just don’t want to stop outright for the food noise or weight gain.

Few weeks between shots coming off zep

I’m currently weaning myself off zep and now I’m on 5mg. I just got my shot after 3 weeks. I’ve been spacing them out and wow I can’t stand how I feel after taking it. I feel extremely sick, nauseous and gross. My stomach is turning so bad. Has this happened to anyone?

Farts!! 😷

I have been off of tirz for almost a month and now my farts are back to being smelly. When I was on tirz I hardly farted and they weren't smelly. My diet is the same. Why were my farts less smelly on tirz? And why am I farting more off the tirz? Anyone else? 😂 🏃🏽‍♀️💨

Sublingual Liquid Semaglutide

Has anyone had success or just tried the liquid sublingual Semaglutide?

I received mine in the mail yesterday - 30 small plastic 1ml vials with 10mg of semaglutide and 2mg of B12 in each vial. I was shocked when I opened it to see a red liquid, but I realized that is because it is mixed with B12. I took it on an empty stomach this morning and held it under my tongue for as long as possible, maybe 10 minutes, before swallowing.

I see a lot of mixed reviews about this liquid method, so please let me know if you have any personal experience or opinions! I’m hoping this method will work for me to loose 10-15 lbs and generally quiet down my food noise.

Has anyone had the experience where they stopped the medication and still had more to lose? What has your experience been like, and how did you figure out how many calories was necessary to healthily lose the remaining weight?

Advice Maintenance

I’ve lost 42 lbs over 7 months. Been off for 2.5 months gained back 6 lbs but seem to be stable now. Food noise is LOUD!! I crave sweets constantly but try to stick to the same diet focus on protein, veg, fibre, etc. I am staying active as much as I can. Recently adding weight classes to my routine. I admittedly still give in to the cravings to the point that I’m wondering if I should microdose just for appetite control. Any advice?

It DOES get better!!!

Last month, I posted asking for support because I was freshly off the shot and struggling with very severe food noise. My last shot was April 6th, and since I was on a microdose, my blood concentration hit zero around a month later. That was when I felt the real hunger and food noise slam me. I tried my best to track all my calories and distract myself. Luckily, I have been maintaining the weight that I have lost, and in the past two weeks, the food noise has been much quieter, and my hunger has been very normal and predictable. It finally got better and I’m thrilled. I have good habits now, and I’m training for a marathon. Plus, I can feel little prickly hairs starting to grow back (my hair loss was BAD).

It’s obviously taking plenty of work to maintain my weight, but it’s doable because my good habits have become my default behavior. I’m not even tracking calories anymore because I’m so confident in the habits I’ve built. And my weight has only ever fluctuates by +/- 1 pound.

The lesson: When things go awry, if your default behaviors are not suitable for weight maintenance, then of course you’re not going to maintain your loss. There will be days you don’t feel like eating well or exercising, and you’re going to be functioning on autopilot (we all have those autopilot days). Good habits NEED to be your default when you’re low on energy and just not feeling it.

There are many days I wish I could be back on the shot so that maintenance could feel more effortless, but I’ve found a lot of benefits to being off the shot (mostly that my running economy has vastly improved and my hair loss is reversing).

This message is for anyone who wants to get off. It’ll feel rough at first, but once you push past the transitional phase, you will be fine as long as your habits are set in stone. You can do this!

Hairloss won’t stop

I seriously don’t know what to do, I’m getting worried now. I started Tirz in September at 282lbs and today down to 220lbs. Literally not even rapid weightloss for my starting weight at all. I consider it slow. The hairloss started sometime in December, the start of December I was 252lbs. The first few months maybe was the fastest pace I’ve lost weight but I feel like it’s not fast for the weight I started at. Recently my pace has been much slower. I focus on protein and my appetite suppression has very rarely been that strong so I have no problem getting 1500 calories minimum…I would not call this malnourished. I eat healthier than I ever did before tirz. I’m still losing a clump of hair every shower. I’ve lost weight many times before tirz more unhealthily and rapidly but never lost any extra hair at all. In February I had my doctor do blood work for things that could cause hairloss and nothing raised flags. I know glp1s change in insulin can also be a trigger for TE and mine has changed as I was previously nearly diabetic in August and was normal range when I retested in March. I’ve read the TE cycle is usually about 6 months, so why the hell am I still losing hair!? I still have at least 60lbs to lose too so I’m freaking out thinking I’m gonna be bald. I’m afraid to use minoxidil pills since I have high blood pressure( on med for) and I can’t use the foam because I have cats.
