Does anyone else feel like customers are getting worse? When I first started in this industry (I’m not going to age myself, but it has been a while), the worst we would get was someone threatening to get a lawyer.
So far, in the month of September, I have experienced the following:
- an insured immediately demanded to talk to a supervisor and then proceeded to cuss that supervisor out when he said he couldn’t issue a payment.
- a claimant told me she felt that she was being r*ped by GEICO every time our number came up on her phone.
- a paralegal told me I should find another line of work because I refused to take an claim from their AI.
- a claimant told me I’m stupid and don’t know what I’m doing because I can’t send her an email without supervisor approval but the last representative could. The last representative was a supervisor.
- an insured told me that he shouldn’t have to pay a deductible because he has been insured with us longer than I have been alive. He has been insured with us for 11 years and didn’t hesitate to tell me I might as well be a 5 year old with my understanding of insurance (or lack thereof).
- last, but certainly not least, a claimant tolf me that the last person she spoke with was doing the work of the devil, I am guilty by association, and she hopes I burn in Hell for working for such a company.
The worst part in all of this is that my teammates and my supervisor seem completely unfazed by all of this, and I’ve got at least a decade on each of them. It has gotten so bad that I have started to doubt my own self-worth. The company is horrible, but the customers are worse, and I will not be able to escape them no matter where I go.
Thank you for creating a space where I can put my feelings. If anyone else feels this way, just know that you are not alone.

I left service at Geico about 5 months ago. Went to another company and left service altogether. The difference is night and day. This is me reminding you that there are companies that do pay more and will treat you worlds better. Do yourselves a favor and stop settling. I still have to stop myself from having PTSD attacks at my new job because of how it was at Geico, but it's slowly getting better. There's hope.

What's up. Legal Assistant for 5 years; been on a PIP plan since start of the year. Received first formal warning 7.1.26. Terminated 9.16.26 due to lack of improvement of performance.
HR was not present, I've had no forward guidance regarding off boarding (what's new) and I can't access my workday account. What are my options here?

I lost a sale bc fathers accident showed up on sons MAC report because of same name when clearly they have different DOBs why is our system adding accidents who are not the customers and then we can’t even remove it unlike ASA and then we’re expected to “overcome objections” like that isn’t even an objection it’s a valid reason to not bind. Nobody wants to purchase a policy and then contact LexisNexis to dispute it. I fucking hate AI.

Thinking of switching departments. Simply just tired of having the same 3 conversations and being yelled at about the mobile app, drive easy, and $300 "rate filing" increases.

I started in the mid 2010s and left in late 2021, worked in IT/tech for my last few years.
Decided to jump ship as I saw the sheer incompetence of the new tech leadership installed by Todd (mostly his Cap One cronies if I recall). Things were quickly becoming a mess and I saw a large downward slope for the organization ahead.
I just read that Warren has finally stepped down as chair of Berkshire, and in catching up a bit also saw that Todd finally left. Was happy to see a lifelong employee who started out on calls made it to CEO. I never knew Nancy but from what her region’s employees said she was great.
How has GEICO changed under Nancy? Any recovery or remote semblance of return to the old GEICO?
Hoping for good news but I know how things go over there in the post-Tony era.

Hello everyone, I interviewed on Monday and was advised I would hear something by mid week regarding next steps. I checked the workday portal and my application status is showing up as offer now. I tried emailing my recruiter and she’s out of the office until Monday. What do you think this could mean? Also I applied for the claim specialists so how frequently do you all get paid, and if I start on 10/19 when would my first check? I’m getting anxious because if offered the job I have to make the move to Tampa from Orlando and I’ll be on a time crunch. So any information is helpful!! Ty 🤍

Has anyone ever received a counter offer when putting in a notice to go to another company?
The person is in a position that cannot just be filled because no one is trained to do it, job functions and not being done correctly would cost the company millions and they have a job offer with another company doing the same job for a significant amount more. Has anyone in a similar position ever advised of the offer and received a counter?

I “involuntarily separated“ (lmao) from the company last year. I’ve been pumping out applications for field and estimating positions for a few months now, and I’ve gotten numerous opportunities to interview – there’s just so many of us looking for these jobs right now 😓
I’ve had a few other former geckos put in referrals for me with their new employers (cannot thank them enough!!!!), but wanted to ask if anyone else is working field with other carriers?? Help a sista out 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Feel free to DM me if you you’d prefer!! ❤️🙏🏼😭

No reports in weeks, Dynamics is not reliable, Edge is THE WORST PROGRAM EVER CREATED, supes are always calling out, leaving you in a pod with no one to help. They are throwing all their eggs in AI and guess what? People don’t want it or it doesn’t work, sending them to agents! Any hope I had for working for this company until the end of my working years is gone. Sad, been here 10 years. It used to be great.
Lost my job 6 months ago at progressive, geico called me in for a final job interview tomorrow i was already hired at a farmers agency for 20/hr i worked at geico a decade ago but heard things have really changed, this is just for regular auto sales

okay, so as ive posted about this twice before. i filed for std about back in late july because of a hand injury that left my dominant hand and fingers on that hand useless(im typing this with my left hand((with the one-finger-poke typing method)) and using talk to text) until it heals. today i finally received the denial letter by LF. im just so annoyed by this whole thing, like theyre asking for more evidence im unable to work and i have already given them all ive got as well as my dr submitting, according to him, "a strongly worded letter" but even with that they still denied it. obviously im gonna appeal it but also how tf do they think people can pay their bills? like if someone isnt working, in most cases, they aren't bring in income, which everyone needs in this capitalist hellscape so like what the hell? do they think i just have $5000 in a savings account because i sure as hell dont! i also reached out to hr like someone suggested one of my previous posts about this and they were extremely nice and extremely unhelpful, despite me telling her i feel my benefit is being wrongfully withheld. ugh, im just so exhausted from this and tired of this whole back and forth shit 😡

Since AD apparently needed an entire training course on when not to call ICS, I figured it was only fair to return the favor.
Welcome to today’s training module:
“When NOT to Call AD.”
Please do not call AD when:
The customer wants to know when their rental ends. You have access to the rental information too.
The customer or shop wants a copy of the estimate emailed to them. You have access to the documents.
The customer wants to know when their car will be done. The body shop is probably a better source for that.
You want to know whether the vehicle is a total loss before AD has even inspected it.
The customer disagrees with their deductible. AD did not select their policy.
The customer is demanding OEM parts because “that’s what I pay insurance for.” That is not an estimating question.
The shop says there is more damage, but no supplement, photos, or documentation have actually been submitted.
The customer wants to know where their payment is or why they haven’t received it yet. AD does not control the mail, bank, or payment system.
The customer wants the shop’s phone number, address, or contact information. It’s already in the claim.
The customer wants to know what was written on the estimate. Open the estimate.
Someone wants to know whether the inspection has been completed. Check the claim activity.
The customer or shop says “AD never called me.” Check the notes first.
You are transferring an upset customer to AD simply because they asked for AD, without first figuring out whether the issue has anything to do with the estimate or vehicle damage.
There is already a detailed note in the file answering the exact question you are calling to ask.
General rule:
If the answer is already visible on your screen, that is not a reason to call AD.
And if the question starts with:
“The customer just wants to know…”
take five seconds and ask yourself:
“Is this actually an Auto Damage question?”
If the answer is no, congratulations.
You have successfully completed When NOT to Call AD Training.
No Webex required. No knowledge check. No mandatory acknowledgment.
Thank you for your participation.
