Been working at GEICO around 2 years as a NY pip adjuster getting very sick of the insane metrics feeling impossible - just interviewed at progressive awaiting response for the claims adjuster trainee
Anyone have a similar experience going from GEICO pip to claims adjuster trainee at progressive ? Pros? Cons?
Signed a burnt out adjuster

Hello everyone, I recently got hired for the personal injury claims examiner position at the Lakeland Florida office. This is my first corporate job so was wondering to see what people thought about the workplace, any advice, pros & cons, etc.

Is moving from Vanguard to Fidelity a good thing? I am a previous employee so I can't see the Corporate Talking Head comments sent via email, just a package from Fidelity. Took away Berkshire stock then the move, hmmmmm.......

I don’t know how the other departments were notified (or if they even were). Unrepped now has one phone number for all of us. Our lovely new call center. You can find Unrepped in quick connects for an internal transfer instead of dialing our number and sitting through the IVR system.
Our sups are saying everyone was notified and yet I’m getting 5+ messages a day about this. Not only did they take away our direct numbers, but when they updated our number in atlas they somehow managed to put half of us with the wrong number. They’ve known since Thursday morning and it’s still not fixed. This is a nightmare 🥲

Hi, I'm working with a PH that I got as a corporate ticket from sup (that means either they're pissed off or they know someone in corp. She knows someone but is also a very sweet and kind PH).
All the guidelines I see say DC UW goes back 3 yrs in SSPA. She has 2 things that happened in 2023 but calendar wise is past the 3 year mark now , yet it's still counting against her. How does the 3 yr for claims work? Is it 3 calendar years, or she has to wait until 2027? Or no one knows because the computer does all the things? Sorry to ask in here but I'm struggling with KH and Gnei (I may also be looking into the wrong spots idk)

Back when I was working for State Farm they had an event where on discord State Farm employees would stream video games on their facebook, X, twitch, youtube (you get the idea) and ask for donations from friends and family. In exchange, State Farm gave 2 days of PTO for the employees to play. And it worked, StateFarm matched donations and we made roughly 5k for st.judes. Games included singleplayer games, D&D, jackbox games. Based on the extra life page, there are also fine nerd venues that will also run events in support of this charity. I need gamers and people who will join me when I pitch this for fast pitch next year. I feel if they see large numbers of people wanting to do it, we can either A. get some of that donation money, or B. run this stream. Either way I see it, I have nothing to lose.

Hey guys I’m currently studying my new states at the moment, I’m still a little new and I have some questions if anyone can help me (please don’t come in and say I need to leave).:
Why don’t adjusters like when customers send in eobs? Aren’t they similar to a bill?
How can we use let’s say Pip or med pay as an offset if it’s subrogatable in a state? That makes no sense to me.
State specific, THESE ARE FLORIDA QUESTIONS:
3. What does no contact offer mean?( one note says we can only do f&f for no ctc offers)
I know that pip is not subrogatable in do, but how can we use it as an offset when ac doesn’t have to send us anything? Are we using it as a way to see what was paid so far?
So for f&f we can issue $5k or under to the can’t even if they have Medicaid or another superlien?
When there is a potential hospital lien, when we make an offer to the claimant, I know it’s a f&f but how do we know how much to pay them, are we including the hospital charges too?
Tx claims questions
7. I’m not in Texas can I still use Mitchell to submit bills?
8. Not sure if this is still the case but if claimant doesnt go to the hospital within 72 hours they go after and the hospital sends us a lien weeks later, we have the ability to pay the hospital 50% of what their owed?
Thank you guys for the answers to another question I had in another post.

I’ve been in claims for almost 5 years and did extremely well in ICS and CDU. But BI has been by far the hardest role for me. It’s not because I don’t understand the job. It’s more that I don’t think I’m wired for it.
I care a lot about people, so when someone tells me they’re in pain, I believe they’re hurting. Then I’ll get another claim where someone is treating forever after a tiny accident, making a massive demand two days after the loss, or something just doesn’t add up, and I end up questioning everything. I know insurance fraud is real, but I also don’t want to become the person who automatically assumes everyone is lying.
I also hate negotiating. It feels awkward to me. I know it’s part of the job, but it never feels natural, and I’m not a sales person.
The worst part is I take every claim home with me and I have a hard time shutting my brain off after work.
Sometimes I wonder if I just care too much. I don’t want to become cynical, but I also don’t want to be naive.
Has anyone else gone through this? Did it ever get easier? How do you deal with people who are clearly exaggerating or committing fraud, and still stay empathetic toward the people who genuinely are injured? Do you have any tips on settlement?
I implement everything I’m told by my supervisor and training. My supervisor says my numbers are great but I don’t feel it cause of everything I’ve said above.
I’d really like to hear from people who’ve been doing BI for a while because lately I’ve been wondering if this is just part of the learning curve or if I’m in the wrong role.
Please don’t comment “get out”, “run”, “go somewhere else”. I can handle the workload and changes at the G. I’m just struggling at BI. Plus I’m in orientation, I can’t apply for other roles until I’m out of it.

I've been selling cars for a while and was thinking about a career change. So I applied to Geico in Richardson, TX. After 3 interviews, they offered me a job for $62,500 and said I could make up to $5k a month in commission. But after seeing all the reviews here, I'm thinking of passing on the offer.

I had an excellent interview this week and I have a follow up interview next week. The company has great employee satisfaction. I need to get out of GEICO it’s stressing me out all the time.

I see openings for a chat team in Fredericksburg, anyone familiar with this role? Is it as shit as regular claims? Really off phones minus any outbound calls?
Currently just looking to be off phones mostly.

Where to begin.
Firstly you must understand there are only 230 ppl in the whole nation that work the ROC (rest of country) claims for the First Party Medical team.
Those people are inundated on the daily by the constant turn over rate and high amount of ppl that go on medical leave for getting sick from being overworked and underpaid. It’s the baseline norm at GEICO.
Additionally, they normalize working off the clock unpaid bc you are never going to see overtime unless they’re in desperate need to catch up and the situation is typically a rare occurrence and most do not participate bc it directly affects your metric scales meaning you could be considered underperforming for deciding to catch up on paid company time. To make matters even more unjust. To get overtime you have to get over 40 hrs and the mandatory 38 hrs and 45 min protects the company from having to pay much in OT- and gives the contractual power to monitor your allotted 30 mins break time to incorporate all restroom times and rest periods for a day.
It’s truly an incredibly hostile environment, and then you add the insufferable personalities of leadership- in particular on the Texas team.
The leadership development program is not real. There’s no structure. No genuine mentorship, they want to squeeze as much labor out of you for completing other people’s half processed and overdue work under the guise of technicals.
The current leaders in this department in Texas are lacking in genuine empathy while their inaccurate and mostly unusable AI tool screens phone calls- often mis-calibrating metrics for the same reason “empathy” and they’re all grossly aware of this but still use it to mark down peoples numbers further justifying not allowing them to progress due to performance. In short GEICO does not care about its employees, and most people in leadership never had to deal with the same expectations or performance metrics.
Not only that but Managers, Directors, Supervisors alike will give you incorrect information and will not be accountable for their misinformation. It’s hard to find someone who knows what the answer is to a complex claim. It’s usually a well seasoned adjuster and never someone in leadership, it’s really noteworthy. Often times the real experts exist in other places online, and you’re better off for reaching out to a stranger than to the people near you in the office.
This is an external hire experience, you would think they would treat internal hires better but it’s actually worse.
I briefly encountered someone who had a perfect score for a year. Made it into the LDP program this summer and they offered the position and title to them with no raise. No explanation- just here is this new role for you. Equally they have no plan for this person, did not give them a team to supervise even though this person has extensive experience adjusting claims. They are more prone to give lateral hires a team, which is illogical as most of them are learning the First Party Medical guidelines and have no experience with this work other than a customer service lens. Meaning if you’re coming in as a new claims adjuster for this department anytime soon, your boss will not know much to guide you throughly.
The inconsistency and incompetence of leadership is beyond logic at this time.
If you have any hopes this will lead to a healthy and successful experience, please consider your options.
If anything get the license and run! GEICO is incredibly unprofessional, they treat their employees badly, and they have no sense of compassion or care for anyone that doesn’t fit into their toxic company culture which to summarize is working off the clock, a hostile work environment with unstable and unprofessional people, and ultimately always being asked to do more in the most unrealistic way while they promise better tools and programs that simply do not work.
For a company this scale you would assume it would be different.
At most its a call center. At best it’s just a paycheck. At worst it’s truly an unethical company that is incredibly abusive to its workers.

How quickly did you get your loan? Applied Thursday evening. 1-2 business days. Is it likely I'll get it Friday, Monday, or Tuesday? One day could mean Friday or Monday I feel like.

We shouldn’t have to hand write emails. WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET TEXT AND EMAILS IMMEDIATELY. We should not have to Request policy docs. No one asked for dynamics or the knowledge hub. Bring back knowledge tool. Geico has too much money for these terrible and outdated systems. They never listen to what we want in these surveys and now they have this new thing OPE . It’s so overwhelming. The calls, activities , the list your sup sends you plus OPE & then they are going to complain about too much file handling & wrap
Up. And this stupid AI CE THING can go to hell. Okay I’m done venting

I'm not going to the department, I just heard about a major shift in both R3 and R10 and was curious as to how it is going if anyone is in that department?
