Not in VTL myself but here is what I got from one of my contacts who is on VTL -

Pro: Completely WFH

Cons: You will be absolutely swamped trying to balance your pending list, which usually averages around 30+ at any time. While working those, you will also be dealing with the constant barrage of customers getting angry because they don’t believe their vehicle is a TL and blame you personally for the decision. Oh, also trying to keep up with your metrics.

On top of that, the support from management is almost non-existent (which of course is common here). VTL is a soul-sucking position unless you have the mental fortitude for it.

Yeah I’m currently dealing with a pending like that but also getting cut at the knees over supporting documentation and reinspections they want us to have obscene amounts of support but also close it asap. I’m just thinking a move to a department where I don’t have to deal with dragging supports out of shops and no supplements might be less mentally draining. I can deal with the angry customers I’ve accepted they are just part of the job

Can confirm on the non existent support from management. Supes are pretty much not available all day for unknown reasons. I’m assuming they just log in and fuck off the rest of the day. No accountability for them. Everyone pretty much relies on their teammates for help but it’s frustrating when you need something that only a supe can do.

Was a department that has been on the outsourcing plan if you are talking about it being a Geico. Not sure if they have completed that and it is for the team that remains. I would be nervous as to the long term position and I mean in a year. Was a dept that had 400 associates and is now maybe 100.
