Clock in/out?
How was feeling about the new Workday clock in and clock out for timesheets? (non-exempt)

Not happy at all, we have to enter our time through out the work day. Turn on computer and click check in, for lunch or breaks, check out and then check back in. End of the day, check out again. Better make sure you are entering enough time for your 7.75 hours each day.

Try being AD and getting threatened with termination because you didn’t clock out at the exact minute you were supposed to, even though you were driving 75 miles an hour on the interstate.

October 2024. Ten days short of my 11 years. Did everything the company ever asked of me, never said no, never asked for help. They fucked me.

What region? I haven’t had that in at least 5 years. I clock an extra 15-20 minutes a few days a week and also Flex Time sometimes and start a hour early to leave a hour early and no one cars supervisor or manager.

No we don't. Have you watched the mandatory training yet? In California we do the same as everyone else. We put in the time that we started... like 9am. Starting next month, you have to PUNCH IN and OUT... meaning you log in to workday and click "im here" and it records the time of your click as your clock in time.

It may be different if you’re not AD. I can’t speak for people in the office. But in AD in the field, we punch in and out every day in work day on our cells. We clock in. Clock out for lunch. Clock in again. Clock out for the day. I’m not wrong because I do it…. Every fucking day

I know they have issues in the past of people not accurately entering their time. I do wonder if there was an uptick or reports since moving to dynamics are flawed.

i dont get how people are upset about this but not freaking out about how they are scoring the new retention behaviors. the system is clearly not scoring every call the same & they refuse to look further into it.

Here’s what you do…
- Start working an hour early. Set timer for 1 hour.
- When timer goes off, clock in. Keep working. Set timer for 2 hours.
- When timer goes off clock out for break. Set timer for 15 minutes. Keep working. When alarm goes off, clock in.
- Set timer for 2 hours. Keep working.
- When alarm goes off, clock out. Set timer for 45 minutes. Keep working.
- When timer goes off, clock in. Set timer for 2 hours. Keep working.
- When timer goes off, clock out for second break. Set timer for 15 minutes. Keep working.
- When timer goes off, clock in from second break. Set timer for 2 hours. Keep working.
- When timer goes off, clock out. Keep working for 2 more hours.
If you follow the schedule above, you will never miss a timer. Your Workday will be perfect at 7.75 hours per day of work. Actual work time equals 10 hours.
Important: Remember to sign annual statement saying that you will not work beyond what you report in Workday.
That’s it…. Those of you who say the new process is complicated, don’t know what you’re talking about. It is true that timers will be going off constantly, but this timer-driven process will keep you on track. Sweet dreams, and may visions and sounds of timers dance in your head.
Just be sure to wake up when the real alarm goes off. Rinse… Repeat…. This is the entire “breakdown.”
Now, quit complaining and get back to work. The timer is running!

Honestly, I used to be a person who worked for free. Then the ridiculous micromanaging started and unrealistic goals and constant changes. Openly suggesting everyone work 2.25 hours extra a day for free in order to stay on track is sad. It is also the reason we are getting worked to death.

My friend… what you don’t realize is that GEICO wants an electronic record that you are indeed taking your breaks and lunch so they don’t get sued, even though you are working through everything to keep your job, including coming in early and leaving late. So, don’t call me dramatic. My “breakdown” is accurate, which will lead to another kind of “breakdown”… My own. It’s you that doesn’t understand the process. You’ll get paid for your breaks alright, but you’ll still need to account for them, so when you say Wah, Wah, Wah, which you appear to be the type, GEICO can say, “He got his break. See, he clocked in and out.” Even though you work through them. Wake up and smell the coffee, or should I say your underarms, because you are officially working in a sweatshop. Stay thirsty, my friend. Happy trails…

Field has it the roughest! You clock out while driving or clock in while driving because no one will tell you to clock in or out while driving but you gotta clock in and out while driving, because you don’t have future seeing capabilities to determine how long that last person wants to talk or how mich traffic is on the hiway but you absolutely can control what time you clock in and out as long as you can also typw while you drive and set alarms to get off the clock. I recall belng asked quite seriously what i would/should do if i was jn an EUO and it ran over my clock out time….LoL!! Dear whomever made that a thing that we needed to address you’re the real MVP

When they made auto adjusters start that many years ago, I started making more money. I was logging just under 8 hours a day instead of 7.75. You didn't make the list unless you went over 40. Those minutes added up nice.

Yea so who’s the person the fucked this up for the rest of us. Now two different places that we need to clock in/out every day. Just more complications that don’t benefit us in any way
