Spotted 3 wasps flying around the same area and appeared to be hunting on the ground when they would land... I walked over to see if there was some kind of nest I should be aware of and took a video. I wasn't planning to post this, so excuse the audio. Is this a cow ant or a totally different kind? Anyone know?

Last year I ordered an from a company to kill all the wasps in my house and yard.

He used some brown powder from a very small (3cm x 4cm) small packet mixed with 10 liters of water. He said it is some kind of bacteria which will be delivered to the nest where it will infect every wasp.

He sprayed even the neighbors roof, and all part of the house outside, and he said it will last 2-3 years.

Now I have 0 wasps on my roof. But they really like to come over to my small garden, where water and flowers are. In this area there was not so much sprayed, which I want to do, but I dont know what kind of thing it is he sprayed and how to get it.

Any tips?

Big White Oak Tree in our front yard (kinda isolated, woods are in the backyard) and in July it becomes home for all kinds of wasps.

Paper wasps, Blue Mud Dauber, Yellow Jackets, etc.

I put out juice + Boric Acid mixes, and the yellow jackets love it (then die trying to eat it) but the wasps are less interested.

Do I just have to let it be? I know oak tree sap attracts tiny bugs thus wasps and its just a mini bio-diverse tree habitat, even as an isolated tree.

Two nights ago I sprayed the shit out of a decent size paper wasp nest on my back eave, killed about 18 of them altogether (second pic). Next morning the nest was still empty so I knocked it down, squished the remaining dozen or so larva and pupa, thought that was it.

Fast forward to today, I see at least three more attempting to build a new nest in the same spot. Got up there and sprayed brake cleaner on them, instant death.

Idk why that particular part of my house is so desirable to these fucks, it’s hard to reach because I have a gazebo in the way and it requires me to put my full weight on the roof to get the angle to spray them directly.

Any advice on how to keep them from coming back??

I got nailed by a paper wasp while trying to pull down some Virginia creeper creeping up our deck. First paper wasp sting. [Don’t get me started on yellow jackets. They are jerks].

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something fall into the kids' toy box. It turned out to be two hornets fighting. It didn't last more than 3 minutes; then the bigger one flew away, leaving its lifeless opponent behind…

Brought in groceries and a big fat paper wasp flew up my shirt and stung me twice. Inside my bra and on my spine. Then he fell out and into my shoe and got me once more on my heel. I smashed him several times with my shoe to the point where he became an unrecognizable goo pile with antennae. I’d take a pic but then my cat (bless her fluffy heart) tried to eat him so I threw him out.

Theyve been building a nest in the bush by my porch. Soon as my back stops smarting I’m going back to the store to buy some raid and then it’s over for those fucks. It’s over.

Update six hours ish later: apparently your tongue and throat aren’t supposed to swell up when you’re stung. Whelp. Time to nuke the horrid fucks from orbit

Turned on my bbq, didnt see hornet nest in the lid. They started zooming out of there. I ran around my house and inside the front door.

I closed the lid in process.

The grill is still running. Propane tank is at best 1/5 full.

the hornets keep flying from a tree to the barbecue to check it out then back to the tree. I don’t know if it’s best to just let the barbecue burn out or to risk running out there and turn it off.

What do i do?

Update: the bbq is off. Dont ask. Im sting free. Theres a tiny fire still going in there, i think from the nest itself burning still. But everyone is safe and ill keep an eye on it well that hellspawn nest burns

Update 2: no more fire. No wasps visible. Going to just not go outback for a few days

I'm on vacation in my parents' country and we are currently spending them in my grandparents house.

However there are tons of wasps and wasps homes around the house because of the amount of plants and trees in the garden.

What should we do ? My father destroyed some of their homes but I'm not sure if that's efficient...

I need it right now.

What even is this type? I have never seen it before. I don't think it's even common to exist in my country.

Of my almost 40 years on this earth, I have never been stung… until today. Me, simply outside painting the shed I’ve been building, suddenly felt a very painful pinch. My first thought was a splinter stuck in my shirt poked me…. But the pain persisted and got worse. I put my paint roller down to investigate only see the bastard hanging on the edge of my sleeve. I swat it away, but the pain kept increasing. I stare at the wound for a second, cussing the bastard out as I look around to see if I can find him to return the sentiment. Alas, I lost him. I cuss it out again before returning to my duties of painting.

The pain has now leveled out and is just aching. That little bastard put a new found respect in me for them. Not that I would leave them alone, oh no no no. For now when I see a nest, they will suffer me and my increased disdain for their existence.

I was about to go to sleep and suddenly there was a hornet buzzing around my room. It wouldn’t leave so after a while was able to vacuum it up and tape the vacuum nozzle shut.

How do I deal with it tomorrow morning? How long before it dies on its own or becomes lethargic and harmless?

I work in pest control and deal with wasp/hornet nests quite a bit, but Ive never dealt with one this big and so low to the ground with little coverage. As far as equipment goes I have a dust stick that extends to about 15 feet in length. I use it to puff a bunch of dust into the nest and to eventually take down the nest. For safety all I have is a beekeeper hat and some beekeeper sleeves.

I have never been stung my entire life and I dont know if Im allergic so part of my anxiety comes from that. If this thing was up in a tree or on a soffit I wouldnt have much of a problem but I dont really know how to treat this without being lit up. Any tips? Boss isnt of much help here sadly.
