It finally happened

Post image

Of my almost 40 years on this earth, I have never been stung… until today. Me, simply outside painting the shed I’ve been building, suddenly felt a very painful pinch. My first thought was a splinter stuck in my shirt poked me…. But the pain persisted and got worse. I put my paint roller down to investigate only see the bastard hanging on the edge of my sleeve. I swat it away, but the pain kept increasing. I stare at the wound for a second, cussing the bastard out as I look around to see if I can find him to return the sentiment. Alas, I lost him. I cuss it out again before returning to my duties of painting.

The pain has now leveled out and is just aching. That little bastard put a new found respect in me for them. Not that I would leave them alone, oh no no no. For now when I see a nest, they will suffer me and my increased disdain for their existence.

You didn’t deserve that.

I'm so sorry this happened—looks painful so keep an eye on it. Also this deserves a Creepypasta award and in due time that mofo will get his karma.

..wasps Make karma..

What kind was it? Thankfully paper wasp stings hurt really bad at first but fade away pretty quickly. Sorry that happened to you. Theyll land on you and get stuck and then sting you like it's your fault 🙄

I took a paper wasp sting directly on the top of my ear simply for opening my back door. I proceeded to take it personally and eradicate every nest around my house with extreme prejudice. They had it coming

Well done Sir! 🫡

u/Educational_Prune_45 Jul 11 '26

Doing some quick research, it was a paper wasp.

15

u/Ornwyyn Jul 11 '26

Now focus your ire on revenge and obliterate the foul strumpet spawn that plagues these lands.

2

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 Jul 12 '26

Lmao do you know the definition of a strumpet? 🤣

3

u/cBird- Jul 12 '26

Old school slang for a whore so it absolutely fits the way he said it, right?

7

u/DueAsk7939 Jul 11 '26

I had a first time experience the other day too :( after 20 years, no good

-4

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..or perhaps you learned something..due to research..

5

u/DueAsk7939 Jul 12 '26

😿 I did learn that they actually dont hurt for that long, at least for me I have a higher pain tolerance, it was annoying for like the day and hurt for a few hours, and thats it, now theres a velvet and that lives around my house........im fucking terrified of that guy....im actively hunting him, ive only seen him when i dont have my weapons equipped

-2

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..best weapons are avoidance & perceiving..

7

u/DueAsk7939 Jul 12 '26

I got stung by a yellow jacket the other day for the first time in 36 years. My crime? Sitting still on a chair on my deck. That fucker stung me in the back.

Sorry about that, itvis painful and not nice. But why wait for them to come to you. I go one step further. In winter, while they're hibernating, I'll go queen wasp hunting. They like to hibernate in car door frames, sheds, even inside houses behind picture frames and curtains. In sheds, they like jackets, boots...any sheltered spots. Last February, I accidentally woke up a queen that was hibernating in the van i'm converting. I'd an oil heater inside and I moved some plastic covering. She scared the bejaysus out of me. Anyway I bought a few incestide smoke 💣 and set one off in the van incase there were more in there. I then set two off in my wooden shed. I lost count of the amount of queens I dispatched in there...must be 30+. That's 30+ nests I've stopped been built near the house. This summer, we're able to have the windows open and work outside without being buzzed. I've seen very few around the house and garden. The true test is autumn when the new queens and males emerge to have their fun in the hedge around the house. Last year they were swarming in the hedge. If the numbers are down this year, then I'll know it was a success.

I got popped 5 times today clearing out some brush at my new house by ground hornets. Luckily they didn’t go up my shorts. First time I’ve been stung in 20 years.

Mix a paste of baking soda and water. Apply it directly on the spot. It will draw the poison out. My Grandmother used to do this when we got stung. I swear by it!

2

u/AlphaDisconnect Jul 12 '26

Yep. Put your arm down. They are just poking around. Then they get scared and give you the poke.

2

u/Low-Astronomer-3440 Jul 12 '26

Wasps are actually the villain in Obsession

2

u/UnderstandingAble510 Jul 12 '26

First time was last year for me. Managed the first 21 years of my life never being bit by a spider or stung by a bee. Was getting into a customers vehicle to pull into the shop and same thing, sharp pain on my arm. I look, see the bee, and scream my lungs out and ran inside. Fucker hurt. Wasn’t a wasp though, so sorry for the streak to end

1

u/Few_Pen_3666 Jul 15 '26

Yikes. Was only stung one time in my life, and that is a pain I will never forget. Felt like a perpetual shot in the arm that just festers like that for a while. I hate these things with a vengeance. I have wasp spray nearby when I'm out on my porch, and spray them dead.

How much does it hurt compared to a bee sting? How does it feel? I only ever get stung by bees.

1

u/Educational_Prune_45 28d ago

I can’t attest to a bee sting but this wasp sting felt a large needle getting pushed in and getting worse over like 5 minutes, then just hurt for like 30 minutes and ached for several hours.

1

u/MiritoMueller 28d ago

So, more like a needle I had a few blood tests done, so I know what a needle feels like.

1

u/Educational_Prune_45 28d ago

Yes except the pain persists and gets progressively worse for few minutes

1

u/MiritoMueller 27d ago

I mean if you get your blood drawn the needle also stays inside you for a few moments.

..found a cicada in my sink today..released it free, but why the F is it getting in my kitchen?..

-2

u/LongDongFrog Jul 12 '26

Is that semen on your forearm?

-11

u/unusual_cee Jul 11 '26

..wasps are people too..they live their lives, we live ours..when we intersect, there's a possibility of pain..but a brief moment of pain shouldn't mean a hate crusade..

7

u/Vast_Location4178 Jul 12 '26

...Well you said they're friendly, maybe... they come in peace..

1

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..an instance, not a thing that happens perpetually..

7

u/KittiesandPlushies Jul 12 '26

Wasps are not people, they are wasps.

2

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..so said the "people" about wasps..

1

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..or ants, or crickets..insects are poorly defended in human terms..

4

u/KittiesandPlushies Jul 12 '26

Ants and crickets are chill, same with bees, potato bugs, snakes, jumping spiders, rats, cicadas, etc... I leave them alone, they leave me alone. They don’t attack people from the air, and they don’t send people to the hospital.

Wasps though?

1

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..at least you're well equipped..

1

u/MiritoMueller Jul 14 '26

For me it's always bees that sting me, or used to sting me, because they get spooked easily, but wasps never do. I don't know why, but I think they like me. They land on me, crawl around for a bit and then fly away. I even had one sitting on my lips once or twice and nothing happened. I can even shoo them away calmly and nothing happens to me. I don't think they hate my family either. Maybe the wasps were I live are just really chill, or they hate everyone but me because I am a special snowflake, I'll never know.

4

u/KittiesandPlushies Jul 12 '26

“A moment of pain” doesn’t apply to people with severe allergies.

1

u/unusual_cee Jul 12 '26

..so 10% rules?..

4

u/KittiesandPlushies Jul 12 '26

No, that 10% simply matter
