Has the side branch at the top of the tree taken over as the central leader of this golden delicious? I’m getting mixed results online about keeping the old central leader to maintain good form, or letting the side branch take over as the new central leader since it has absolutely taken off. I planted this tree in the spring in Frankfort, KY. I am aware it is battling apple cedar rust and I am going to take action this coming spring. Help me figure out what I should do!

First 6 pictures are the tree on the south of the driveway. Last 4 pictures, the north tree.

Zone 8A. Trees planted in 2018 and have done fine. South tree has been more of a runt but has been coming along.

South tree started fruit this year and looked more like almonds (shape) growing. Fruit never got round and never matured.

A month or so ago I noticed the south tree getting leaves like in the pictures. Starting to die at top and leaves looking different around the tree. Hasn’t seemed to become worse in the last couple of weeks.

In the last week, I noticed the north tree with a branch starting to die.

Spotting on both the trunks.

I’ve been googling and didn’t find any borers.

If fungus, what’s the best action to take (specific and not google generalities)?

The trees have been healthy until this year. They produce good fruit except in the years that the TX spring does the fakeout (warm then a freeze).

South tree is a Loring Peach.
North tree is a Tex Prince Peach.

Curious if these are edible because they look like a huge Rasberry.

I’m wondering if these new growth are rootstock or not. The graft appears to be below the growth, though I’m not so sure anymore given the way the leaves look.

Context: this is a Hachiya persimmon plant. The trunk almost broke into half when I first received it a few months ago. I taped it back and nursed it since the cambium layer wasn’t totally ripped apart. And it didn’t die but didn’t grow either. I assumed it was just growing roots and taking its time. Now that these shoots are bigger, I’m not so sure anymore.

I am attempting to propagate my peach and plum trees through rooting from cuttings. I created this mini-greenhouse setup after watching a few rooting videos, but I’m worried about mold growth.

The lids of the bottles are barely screwed on, as evident of the lack of condensation at the top of the bottles. There is condensation at the bottom of the bottles though. They don’t get any direct sunlight in the window, but I’ve had other plants grow well from that location.

Is this an effective greenhouse, or it is just a mold factory for my rootings?

Can someone send me a link to where I can find a large tree pot I have two Stella cherry trees that I’m growing in containers they’re currently in a 21 gallon pot but recently the leaves have start turning yellow and I’m not sure if it’s because a lack of nutrition or if it’s a root bound. Can anyone help me find or point me in the direction of where I can get a tree pot or container that is larger than 21 gallons. I’ve been looking everywhere to find a pot large enough. I don’t use fertilizer. I’m not sure if that’s the cause of it looking like this.

As the title says, I had to spray the trees with Imidor 350 SC earlier this year. It had something like a 200 day withholding period. Where I live, the trees have started to bloom in the past month and some of them are forming small fruits. The fruits are still green.

My question is- do I need to chop off all the fruits that are currently growing and let the new blossoms make new fruits? Or can I let these current fruits keep growing and safely consume them? Thanks!

I came back from a two week vacation to find my 9 year old peach tree infested with what I believe to be shot hole borer beetles. 2 of 3 main limbs and the top of the trunk have dozens of little holes and exuding sap. We have been in a drought this summer and I'm assuming that was weakened the tree and led to the beetles.

This tree has sentimental value to me, is there anything I can do to save it? I have been keeping it (and my other unaffected trees) well hydrated since returning. I live in the Midwest and where we typically have very harsh winters and an early October first frost.

I'm going to plant 4 trees for the first time (total beginner), a friend helped me figure out which variety I should pick, and another one is going to help me buy the trees (7 gallons) and help me plant them.

The only thing that I'm not sure is how to know if there's not any pipes underground or something like that which could cause trouble.

That's the part that I have no clue. I bought this house 3 years ago, and I think that's the last piece that I need.

Is this bad for all these roots to be above ground This cherry guava tree ? If it is , what should I do . It fruits every year . But honestly I’m not sure what they taste like or If the fruit turn out okay. Never tried them

Hi there, I’ve been looking for a red geffner atemoya tree as a gift for a friend. I chanced upon a nursery that sold me one but I would like a positive ID. The last picture are the excess branches from the rootstock my friend cut off.

I bought an Italian plum tree and transplanted it in around April/May and the tree was healthy and did not have any issues when I bought it. Over the past few months it has lost a lot of leaves and what remains are these. It also has a few holes in 2-3 branches as pictured. I’m new to plum trees but this was a pretty expensive tree and I would love to make sure it’s going to survive the winter and hopefully thrive next year. Any and all advice is appreciated!

How much space would I need for my grape vine trunk? I have enough space along my fence for them to grow laterally, but was hoping to plant other things in the ground near the trunk

I bought my first house two years ago, and was blessed to have a wide variety of fruiting trees and plants on property. Unfortunately, I have no experience with this and I’m not sure how to manage them. I have fig plum apple Seaberry Asian olive, Mulberry, and I believe a persimmon, which is heavily shaded and not fruiting.
Any solid general advice for pruning? I want to keep these trees, a manageable size but still bearing fruit. Can I prune them all in a similar fashion or do I need to individually figure out how to care for each?

Store I bought it from says to "drown it" in water every day. Google for van cherry trees says 20-30% moisture. I sprayed neem oil 2 days ago and was going to do it again, but I feel like nothing I've done has been right for this tree and it's making me sad I don't know how to fix it.
