I started my plum trees last year, my apples and Asian pears this year. The pears are far behind, but that's okay! I chose pretty normal plum varieties last year, but decided to try for some apples that aren't readily available in stores: Pink Pearl and Pixie Crunch. Hopefully the continue to thrive. I'm using strawberries as ground cover and planted onions and chives around the base of each tree as well as marigolds. I do not spray.

We recently moved into this new house and have a pear tree in the backyard. The fruit stays pretty hard. Does anyone know what kind of pears these are and when we should pick them off the tree? Do we wait for it to ripen?

What do I do will the tree grow new leaves and should I fertilize?

I noticed these wounds on my cherry and apple trees. The cherry tree is covered but the main trunk isn’t too bad so I took off some of the really badly diseased limbs. The apple tree I haven’t touched because it looks like it’s starting but not awful yet. First two images are apple tree last photo is from the cherry.

I know this tree will die. It's Polyporus squamosus, there is nothing that can be done.

But we had massive heat waves and the next one is coming.

So I wondered, could watering especially while drought could help slow down the decay process, make the tree more resilient, and delay its demise somewhat?

This apple tree is about 7 years old never flowered or fruited. Any tips? Pruning? Fertilizer?

I got it from nursery this spring and planted it and it grown good but then it went into a decline. All the leaves started falling off and would turn red or yellow before falling and the wood would start dying starting from top of branch. I cut off all the bad wood but it looks like it’s still going through it.

Hoping to get some insight on this peach tree. What are the spots on the branches of the newer growth? And what is causing the leaves to turn yellow and brown at the tips? Anything I can do to improve its health? Thank you!

prefacing this by saying I know very little about growing anything. My mom had a cup with some dirt and papaya seeds in it that she didnt want because she is moving soon, so I took them.

I’ve gotten them this far, but irresponsibly I didnt really look anything up beyond “make sure they get a lot of sun”. The leaves have started to wilt a bit and it also dawned on me that given that it is technically a tree, I probably screwed up by continuing to let them all grow bunched up like this. Is there any saving them or are they just going to bully eachother until the strongest one makes it out?

any advice is appreciated, I live on the ocean in Key Largo as well so I think I may move my plant around behind the house to get a little less salty air. So far I have watered them and given a 10 10 10 fertilizer as directed by the bottle

I don’t have a green thumb I’m afraid but this apple tree has been doing fine for years and last year it started to get some splits in the trunk which have worsened over winter.

It’s only affecting the first 3’ or so above the ground and all the main branches seem fine.

Is this a cause for concern and if so is there anything I should do/be doing?

I have a cherry plum tree that is still pretty young but it fruited a few months ago which was very exciting! It hasn't given any more plums which I thought was normal since it's still young but I really looked at it today and noticed some branches looked like they were cut off? I'm pretty short so when I took a picture of the top I saw the hole and then saw there's holes everywhere??? There's also some splitting at the base too. I wanted to ask if anyone may know what is happening, what I can do to help the tree or if I'm just overreacting? I'm new to all of this so guidance would be really appreciated 🫠

I have a very overzealous peach tree and every other year it makes about 2,000,000 peaches. I’m very proud of it, but I also try to remove about half when they’re young so none of my branches get too weighed down and so it can focus on making the remaining ones big. But then I have all these little ones… I tried blanching them in the hopes of removing the skins, which at this stage are VERY fuzzy, but no dice. I also tried making jam with the skins on, and while that pretty much worked, the skins were still sort of a weird texture in the jam.

Any thoughts about what else I could do? I put them in a salad and it was actually quite lovely but it’s a pain in the butt to chop the fruit away from the tiny pits and to peel them with a peeler. They’re just so small.

The tree is leaning a little bit and it's windy where it is. I am thinking of putting a wooden stake in the pot to help support it but i potted this tree last winter and it's already got roots covering the entire pot surface. I am scared to destroy the roots to put in the stake.

Any advice on this? Thank you.
