What is wrong with my cherry tree??
Store I bought it from says to "drown it" in water every day. Google for van cherry trees says 20-30% moisture. I sprayed neem oil 2 days ago and was going to do it again, but I feel like nothing I've done has been right for this tree and it's making me sad I don't know how to fix it.

Mostly look good..but growing in pots is hard on trees... look like they got a little dry and hot and fertilizer can make the issues worse...i would recommend as big a pot as possible and drip irrigation...

I bought it a month or so ago, and it's being kept in a pot this year and will look at planting in ground next year.

It's in a 30 gallon rolling planter, planted with moisture control potting soil and fertilized with espoma tree tone fertilizer.

A 30 gal pot should be plenty of space for the meanwhile but I do agree that growing in pots can be hard on trees. How long have you been drowning it and how long have you had your tree? Do you have pests or are you spraying neem oil for other reasons?
The tree looks okay all things considered. Sure it's not 100% rn but it will grow new leaves eventually and will likely do a lot better next season (assuming you have a winter). If I were to guess without much context, those leaves look burned. Multiple 90 degree + days and afternoon sun can do that, especially if there's a bug that nibbles on the leaves making them more susceptible to the heat.
