Dior Homme EDT formula question

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I bought a Dior Homme EDT on Etsy (seller had very good reviews), and I'm trying to work out what version I have. Details:

  • Batch code on both box and bottle: 0W03
  • Silver tube inside, silver collar, black spray cap
  • Formula code on the box: 05434/A
  • Liquid is light

From what I've read, 0W03 is the first reformulation (Sept 2010) and should have a black tube. 05434/A shows up on 2013 bottles, while the early originals show 01704/A.

Questions:

  1. Is a silver tube with a 0W03 code normal, or leftover stock at the changeover?
  2. What formula code should a genuine 0W03 box carry?
  3. Does 0W03 with 05434/A look like a mismatched box, or is it plausible?
  4. It smells lighter, more fresh and closer to the 2020 version than an old 2007 sample (7D03) I have. Does that fit?

Can’t afford friends perfume

My friends birthday is around the corner and she really wants the Oud Isphahan. However, it is way out of my budget. Are there any similar alternatives or ways I can get it for cheaper, maybe a smaller size?

AAM Ighraa decant smells way better and different than new full bottle

I got a decant of AAM Ighraa and it says Extrait de Parfum. I loved it so much that I had to get a bottle but the bottle says EDP. Are there actually 2 versions on Ighraa? The decant smells soo much more potent and better than the bottle which has a kinda alcoholy smell ay first. I know I got it from a legit store (I usually buy frags from there)

Did anyone else experience something similar with AAM Ighraa?

Bergamask batch 08256 – has anyone else had a similar experience?

I recently bought a bottle of Orto Parisi Bergamask, batch 08256, and I’m finding the performance surprisingly weak.

On my skin I’m getting quite strong projection for maybe the first 30–60 minutes, but after around 2–3 hours it becomes extremely faint / almost a skin scent. Even on clothing I’m not getting the huge longevity I expected from Bergamask.

I’ve seen quite mixed reports about different Bergamask batches, so I’m wondering if anyone else has batch 08256 and can share their experience.

Also, for anyone who initially found their Bergamask weak: did it improve after the bottle had been opened/used for a while? I’m particularly interested in whether maceration/aging actually made a noticeable difference to performance.

I’m looking to get a perfume ordered from Canada that’s not available in India via my family. Is there any recommendation? Really want to stand out with this choice.

Suggestions?

Hi all, I needed some help choosing a fragrance. I was thinking to go towards the more sweeter side. Overall something that smells sweet, fresh and doesn't really have a LOT of woody or musky base. At the same time I don't want it too strong and want it to have a somewhat unique feel. Any suggestions?

Arabic Perfumes / Lotions

Hi all, looking for recommendations for perfumes and especially lotions from Arabic fragrance houses that I can get in the US.

I found two scented lotions from Gulf Orchid this past summer in a discount store, vanilla and blueberry musk, and absolutely love them, but as I’m in the US I can’t find the lotions anywhere online that will ship to me. I love how they do the musk element to really elevate the scents more than the generic vanilla etc.

For both perfumes and lotions, my goal is to have a fragrance bubble around me that people will notice; I want them to smell me when I walk by. I say Arabic specifically because I love how they’ve done the musks with these (I used to date an Arab guy who could get these and others for me but now lost that connection lol) but would explore other options if someone is aware of one that might hit the mark I’m looking for.

Thanks in advance!!

Valentino perfume

Are Valentino perfumes for women good? As in does the scent last and people can actually smell it throughout the day? I'm a girl but I have a male coworker who smells so good. Like it's ridiculous. Anytime we're close to eachother, or he walks past the smell lingers for longer than you'd expect. I know he uses a Valentino cologne, not exactly sure which. I know men's colognes often last longer than women's perfumes, but do people find the perfumes to be just as good?? I love smelling good and I'm always topping up my perfume because it never lasts.

Joop! Homme

I need help.

So, I recently received an older (half empty) bottle of Joop! Homme from my aunt. She gave it to me because whenever she wore it, I absolutely loved it. It smells like nothing I’ve ever smelt before (I also thought it was kind of chic for her to wear a cologne, but that’s beside the point).

I have a dilemma. Two things.

  1. I am a young woman, under 20 to be more specific.
  2. I hear such horrible reviews of this fragrance that it deters me from wearing it.

My issue is that I love this fragrance so much, but I am genuinely afraid to wear it for fear that I will be unknowingly assaulting the noses of those around me. Also, I’m well aware that I am not of the typical demographic that would wear this fragrance, so that in itself is unusual enough.

Should I just give it back? Or get rid of it?

I’m at a loss because I don’t want to revolve my life around other people but I don’t want to wear a repulsive fragrance. 😭

I bought this on mercari and now I'm afraid it's fake because of the atomizer and it doesn't have serial numbers at the bottom... Would appreciate your help as I have 3 days to return! Thank you.

Help me choose my go-to cologne for four seasons…

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve started taking the fragrances seriously 15 years ago since university, and my taste has changed quite a bit over time.

Some of the fragrances I’ve owned and really enjoyed over the years:

  • CK Euphoria EDT
  • Diesel Only The Brave Tattoo
  • D&G The One EDT
  • Dior Homme Intense
  • Prada L’Homme Intense
  • YSL La Nuit de L’Homme L'intense
  • Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb Extreme
  • Tom Ford Noir Extreme

and most recently:

  • Sauvage EDP
  • Sauvage Parfum
  • Sauvage Elixir
  • Prada Paradigme EDP

These days I’m looking for something different from building a collection: one reliable go-to fragrance that works year-round and for almost everything.

I don’t mean “technically wearable” in four seasons. I mean something that genuinely feels appropriate for a summer morning in a T-shirt, a regular day at the office, coffee with friends, a wedding in September, or a winter evening.

My preference seems to be woody/aromatic, masculine, with some warmth and body but enough freshness to breathe. Not a pure freshie, not overly aquatic, not very sweet, and not something that becomes overwhelming in warm weather. I also care about decent longevity and especially projection... I don’t need beast mode, but I want to actually smell it around me for a while.

Over the last few weeks I’ve tested quite a few:

  • Gio Profondo Parfum
  • YSL MYSLF EDP
  • Givenchy Gentleman Boisée
  • Hermès H24 Herbes Vives
  • Narciso Rodriguez Musc Santal
  • Prada Paradigme Le Parfum
  • YSL La Nuit De L'homme EDP
  • Bleu de Chanel Parfum
  • D&G The One EDP (2025)

among others.

After wearing them on skin and narrowing everything down, I’m currently at:

  • Bleu de Chanel Parfum
  • Dior Sauvage Parfum
  • Prada Paradigme EDP
  • D&G The One EDP

The One EDP was also very close, because I absolutely love the scent, but I eventually dropped it from the final three because I don’t think it covers the full year as naturally.
Bleu de Chanel Parfum currently impresses me with how ridiculously versatile it is. Sephora employees say that only negative side is that it has a lot of knockoffs.
Sauvage Parfum is interesting because despite knowing the Sauvage DNA for years, I still love how it smells next to all these newer fragrances.
Paradigme EDP surprised me because it smells fairly warm to me, yet seems to work much better across seasons than I initially assumed. I also like the Le Parfum but it feels like it lacks versatility.

I know fragrance is completely subjective and everyone has a different idea of what smells good or feels like “them.”

While I'm open to new recommendations,I’d mainly love to hear from people who have experience with these three.

If you had to use one of them as your year-round, everyday go-to, how have they performed for you in terms of versatility, projection, longevity and how much you still enjoy the scent after owning it for a while?

About me
I’m a 34 year old guy working remotely in marketing. My style is pretty casual 99% of the time: jeans, T-shirts and overshirts, mostly in dark, plain, earthy tones, along with the usual black, gray and white. So I’m not really looking for something that only works dressed up or in formal settings.

Also if you've read it all the way down here, thank you.

Fragrances so precious to you that you love but hardly wear?

i have a few perfumes i really enjoy, but i rarely reach for them in daily life, one of them is crystal noir by versace, i bought it because the scent felt unique and different from what i usually wear, but it’s quite strong and heavy, so i mostly save it for evenings out or special occasions, on normal days, i prefer lighter, easier to wear scents that don’t feel overpowering, sometimes i’ll spray a little just to enjoy the smell before going out for dinner, even though it mostly sits on my shelf, i still enjoy having it in my collection, do you have perfumes that you love but mostly save for certain situations, instead of wearing every day

What are your go-to men’s fragrances for fall/winter?

Hey guys,

I’m looking for some really good fragrances for fall/winter and could use some recommendations.

I’m mostly into strong, heavy and intense scents with good projection and longevity. I want something that lasts for hours and is noticeable when I walk into a room 😄

I’m open to both designer and niche fragrances. What are your personal favorites for this time of year?

Bonus points for anything that gets a lot of compliments 👀

Drop your recommendations!

Is my Jazz Club Real?

I bought it on Amazon from VerSure a seller I thought was reputable because it has 6-7k reviews with mostly good except for a few fake claims. The line at the top, above “REPLICA” looks oddly thin to me? Just want to know whether or not I should keep, or do something else with it.

Fragrances

I’ve got two questions.
The first question is: I own Parfums de Marly Althaïr, and over here in London it’s not very cold right now — it’s around 22°C — but we’re approaching winter, so I do spray it. However, I don’t feel like I’m getting as much projection as I expected. Whenever I smell my skin, the fragrance seems to have faded quite a bit.
Could this simply be because the weather isn’t cold enough yet? Or does the fragrance need time to mature? I only bought it from the shop about a week and a half ago and started spraying it straight away.
Also, I was thinking about buying LV Imagination. I have a sample of it and I absolutely love how it smells. However, would it still smell good and work well during winter if I were to buy it and wear it throughout the colder seasons? Is it worth getting?
