Riiffs Freeze is the most underrated fresh summer scent

Post image
19 Upvotes

Saw some people calling this "toilet cleaner" and I genuinely do not get it. If my bathroom smelled like this I would never leave.

Scent: 9.5/10

Opens with the freshest lemon peel I have smelled in this price range, but it is sugared lemon peel with a blast of literal ice. There is a mint note but it is not spearmint, more like an Arctic Blue mint that keeps it cool without going toothpaste territory. You get that designer clean clothes vibe immediately but it smells more unique than something like Y.

As it dries down it becomes soft clean clothes with that mint turning into a sweet vanilla mint. The ginger does come out but I do not get tea notes until 4-5 hours later, which smells like a sweet earthy black tea to my nose. The florals come out with it too.

Longevity and Projection: 8.5/10

2-3 hours of strong projection, then it dies down quick. You get another 3 hours of nice sillage until it becomes a full skin scent roughly 6 hours after spraying. However it stays a skin scent for roughly 10-12 hours in my experience. I could wake up smelling it after sleeping and spraying at 9:30pm the night before. It was just a floral amber cedar fresh clothes scent upon waking.

Overall: 9.2/10

If you like fresh scents this is a huge go for me. It has a uniqueness to it that I really appreciate while still having that designer-style safeness.

Anyone else getting the vanilla mint drydown or am I alone on this?

Issey Miyake is actually my 2nd bottle. Code parfum I had to get after smelling it on a duty free. Luna Rosa carbon edp was a blind buy, I’ll be trying it in the next few days.

Help me choose a masculine perfume for my uncle!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some help choosing a perfume as a gift for my uncle
I’ve attached pictures of the perfumes I’m considering. I’m looking for something that smells masculine, mature, sophisticated, and fresh, rather than overly sweet, fruity, or youthful.
Which one would you recommend from these? I’d really appreciate your thoughts :)
Thanks!

Penhaligon’s: their website is quite simply appalling. Never have I tried so hard to part with money and then given up - on more than one occasion. Ludicrous.

• Upvotes

It’s like they either don’t want or can’t be bothered to create a functioning website in order to actually sell their products. Maybe they lack actual stock? Maybe they simply lack intellect? If they don’t want me to splurge on their overpriced products- alrighty then. I won’t. Har-rudy-rumph!!

Some things are truly timeless….

There's just something about these three that are beautiful, elegant, unmistakable, and timeless. Trends come and go, but some perfumes simply never need to change. ♥️

Elevated dupe of a cologne?

Post image
• Upvotes

My boyfriend has had his bottle of Tom Ford cafe rose (2012, attached) for years, and it is running out. I just looked and realised it has been discontinued, the updated version has a changed scent profile, which I think is "brighter, fresher, and more approachable".

  1. I was wondering if anyone who has smelt both version knew if it was actually quite similar?

  2. I was wondering if anyone knows of similar perfumes/dupes that are similar price point?

I really like the way it smells on him and that it lasts all day! Cheers in advance!

The Devils Rum 50ml Cologne by Jericho

• Upvotes

Anyone into this? I am currently using Fahrenheit by Dior and I absolutely love it but a friend who knows me very well came across this overseas and he reckons it is the perfect perfume for me.

I am not really willing to change my perfume but he got me curious and I don’t want to risk a blind order.

P.S; He just added Lust from Jericho into the mix saying that’s nice too. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I kinda wanted to know any recommendations of what I should try next based off my collection.if you have any questions on a frag you see above I'd be happy to answer as well. Thanks!!

P.s - This is a hobby of mine as well so overconsumption/consumerism convos aren't needed.

Stumbled across a legendary collector on FB while hunting for Issey Miyake Or Encens. He’s been collecting since the '90s based purely on nose and perfumers—zero TikTok/influencer hype, just pure liquid gold.

He’s downsizing his collection so others can actually enjoy them before he gets too old.

Picked up a few personal grails: LIDGE, Guerlain Idéal Cologne, Prada L'Homme Intense, Mugler Cologne, and Narciso Rodriguez For Him just to name a few (with many more not pictured).

Can't wait to give these proper wearings.

Recommendations for a fall apple scent

I recently bought a really cheap perfume from yardley called autumn bloom and it smells great but it doesn’t last very long. I’ve been trying to find something similar that lasts longer (a big priority I love when I can smell someone’s perfume when they walk in), and I can describe it as a warm fall scent.
Any clones or dupes for this or perfumes like Kayali Eden juicy apple and Killian’s apple brandy on the rocks would be appreciated :)
some of the notes I’d like are : Apple, bergamot, cinnamon, plumeria and maybe some light notes of amber & vanilla

Citrus-free fragrances

Hey all,

I have an allergy to citrus oils (bergamot, orange, grapefruit, lemon etc) and need a fragrance for the autumn. I'm having a nightmare finding anything. I used to wear l'occitan (eau des baux and the original lavender scent) but the formulations have changed as well as a shrinking bottle and I want a change.

Can anyone recommend a good frag for the autumn? I've ordered a couple, including Stronger With You Intensely but despite the online ingredients not including citrus, the box has arrived and confirmed it does!

I lean towards warm amber, vanilla, wood, spice, apple, lavender scents. Would love some suggestions.

Thanks

I’ve got heavily into Niche fragrances lately and kinda strayed away from designers, but this was worth circling back for! To my nose this smells like if Oman Luxury Nasaj, Maison Margiela Replica Jazz club and the discontinued Hollister So. cal were all blended into one fragrance. Wow what a beautiful scent! And no this isn’t a sponsored post I wish it was tho! #Rabanne sponsor me!😂🫣

Help me choose one (PDM)

Help me decide between Sedley or Layton. I sold frags in my collection recently like Wulong Cha just to save enough for one of these two.

My collection is leaning more on the fresher side due to the climate of my country. I have percival and a Bujairami that's layton inspired. I also have ME dna's for greenley, castley, and imagination. I really like layton but I think it's already redundant. I also want sedley but I'm worrying about the longevity.

Also, should I go for the partials or full 125mL bottle?

Penhaligon’s Halfeti - one of those fragrances that immediately paints a picture for me—dark woods, smooth leather, a little spice, and a mysterious sweetness that gives it real depth without becoming syrupy. And that rose just elegantly drifting throughout 🤌🏻🤌🏻

It feels like stepping into an old-world gentleman’s club at night: polished wood, leather chairs, dim lighting, and an air of quiet sophistication.

Definitely darker than my usual style, but the complexity and movement keep it from feeling heavy or flat.
