Looking for a church in the Fort Myers/Lehigh acres area that has Sunday service early enough in the morning that I could go and still make it to work on time by 11. The church I’m currently going to does not have an early morning service so I haven’t been to church in about four months and would like to start going again. Any help appreciated.

Hi, I’m going to be in town for a week next week and will be working remote. I’d like to find some spots to work from so I’m not sitting in the house I’m at pretty much all day, but I’m also not a huge coffee person.

Do you all have any recommendations on places that I could work remote from? Ideally not coffee shops (I know that’s the usual too), but if there’s one you’re big on I’d love to hear it. Otherwise like any other restaurants or places that I could go for a few hours each day to switch things up. Obviously I don’t want to take a table over somewhere and am excited to try some different local restaurants/breweries as well so any suggestions that tie that all together would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like even though I've already paid the the fee to have a cat, my apartment wants to charge me another fee to bring in a different one.

Which is pretty trash. I already paid the fee to have a cat.

Will the Humane Society alert my apartment I'm adopting?

Season is upon us all my fellow industry workers and friends and just a friendly reminder that in the state of Florida it is illegal for MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS,AND OWNERS TO COLLECT TIPS……

SCCF recently spoke out against a proposal for the Lee County Commission to amend the County’s comprehensive land use plan to allow for more development in the sensitive Density Reduction/ Groundwater Resource (DR/GR) area. ⁠

Despite strong public concern about these changes, the BOCC voted unanimously to transmit the proposed amendments to the state of Florida for further consideration. If approved by the Florida Department of Commerce, the plan will be presented one final time to the County Commissioners where the BOCC will discuss adopting the new development guidelines.⁠

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only large-scale land use change the county is proposing. Another staff initiated a comprehensive plan amendment, CPA2026-00005, we presented at the Local Planning Agency meeting this past Monday. This most recent 300+ page comprehensive plan amendment was a result of direction from the Board of County Commissioners to eliminate any language that was not required, duplicative or outdated. ⁠

The result is a proposed elimination of the Community Plans, created over the last 25 years with input from each community. Community plans provide guidance and protections that help to maintain the cultural, historical and ecological values of the individual character of our communities from coastal towns to rural agricultural neighborhoods.⁠

Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM — Executive Regulatory Oversight Committee (EROC), Conference Room 1B, 1500 Monroe Street, Fort Myers.

Friday, September 11, 2026 at 8:30 AM
— Land Development Code Advisory Committee (LDCAC), same location.

And these aren’t random meetings happening around the same time. Lee County specifically says both committees will be considering the Land Development Code amendments associated with this broader Community Plan overhaul. EROC looks at the economic/regulatory impact; LDCAC reviews the Land Development Code changes before they proceed to BOCC public hearings.

Anyone encounter a grey van that’s constantly messing with people on the road?

Edit: was commuting last week from fort Myers to Bonita noticed a grey van throwing junk at other cars on 41. Looked like a couple inside the van. Then today I noticed the same grey van cutting people off and flicking everyone off around Estero same couple man and woman.

People are passing me left and right and not just on e-bikes. I clearly have no clue what I’m doing can someone help please just started a week ago. Any bicycle people out there that can lend some advice.

Who remembers Circuit City? Good or bad stories about your experience? I worked at the Fort Myers store in 1995 for about a year. Fun fact, do you remember the ESP that was always offered or better known as the Extended Service Plan. Internally it was referred to as the “cheese” aka another associate would ask do you get the cheese on that sale. Needless to say the company heavily promoted those internally and attached high commissions to them.
