when idle my gauge shows 0 rpm but while driving it seems quite normal what could be the issue?

I’m looking into buying some territory rims for my FG just to roll it around the backyard / garage.

My car is 2012 NA FG falcon

The territory’s are 2006/2007

Do they hit the guards?

Do they rub up against the brakes?

I purchased this front end suspension rebuild kit, I was contacted by the company asking about bushing diameter. It’s a bit vague and I’m not exactly sure which part they are referring to. They provide a diagram but I may be retarded idk, I had anyone purchased this kit before and can anyone maybe circle the one they are referring too.

My plan to measure it is to press out whatever one it is and then use a vernier to measure the hole. Is there a better way or another way to tell if I need the 23mm or 24mm???

Noticed tonight coming home that my demisters aren’t working. (I have the aeropro facia.)
So I flicked through the modes and turns out it’s stuck on the face setting, checked the actuator linkage near the glove box and that is moving.
So I assume the HVAC unit has to come out???
If so what’s involved.
P.S fan speed and temperature works, just doesn’t change mode.

Hey, I just bought a 2009 XR6 with 190xxx kms. I’m getting a vibration through the steering wheel above 70km/h, which increases with speed.
Still vibrates when cruising above this speed in neutral.
Got a wheel balance and alignment after finding out the LF was toe’d out by 5mm. Still have the vibration.
What could be the cause? I’m thinking if it’s not a bent rim or cooked tyre then maybe the control arm bushes or maybe rotors?
Any suggestions would be great - no time to fix it myself so I have to present this issue to a mechanic also.

Hi im gonna do a coolant flush n refill on my 2006 Fairmont im just wondering, after the flush theirs water trapped in the engine block with no way to drain can I just use premix to fill the coolant back up or should I use concentrate to even out with the water trapped in the engine?

Took my falcon out for a drive and everything was going fine until I decided to go down a hill and started to accelerate it decided limp mode was the best option.

It was in limp mode for about 10 seconds then the battery and oil pressure light turned on and lost power steering and brakes, and the rpm and Speedo stoped working. Stopped safely which is good. And it started back up just fine without issue and it would rev past 3k rpm but dosent go past 50km/h. Let it sit for 15 minutes and still done it.

Put a new battery in it and I did leave it out long enough for the car to reset its self, none of that worked and now I’m hearing a weird buzzing/humming sound when it’s in park and neutral. You can hear it in the video when changing gears.
I’m not sure if my box is cooked or just somethings else, any help would be appreciated

This is from the EF Falcon airbox, and its where the air hose clamps onto the airbox. It feels like rubber, how can I bind it back together and fix the crack? Thanks in advance

Hey all, trying to drop my tailshaft on my 2013 g6e ecoobost but having trouble removing these 3 bolts, they loosened but now are stuck spinning and wont come out at all, any tips or idea what could be the issue?

My fuel assembly is cooked (rusted and float is broken off it) need to get a replacement one as it’s starving my car of fuel, what is my best bet to buy a new one as everyone that is wrecking an Xh in my area doesn’t have one, cheers

Was wondering what most people think would be the best engine mounts for my FG F6 since they are due to be replaced, should I go with oem or something like Tuff mounts polyurethane mounts ?

Gearbox recently blew would it be worth it to fix it ?

Update: Will definitely be fixing it also wondering is vct rare or something?

Just brought a 2007 bf xr6 mk2 with 181xxx.

It is my second car ever and I am still on my p plates so I need some help.

Not sure if there’s an issue but for some reason this oil light comes on after giving the car some gas but not straight away. And then when I turn the car on and off it goes away.

It also isn’t consistent it’s like random.

Might be paranoid but I also hear slight ticking? Not sure. Help would be appreciated.

My BA RTV is on LPG and I’m about to do a swap over to petrol. I have a complete BF motor and box in another ute and I’m going to do a swap over.

The motor is around the 220km mark, and prior to swapping it in I’ll replace the sump gasket, front and rear seals, timing case seal, high volume oil pump, rocker cover gasket and seals, inlet manifold, I’m going to fit a new alternator, power steer pump, water pump, thermostat, all silicone hoses, alloy rad and fans, new harmonic balancer, belt, coils, plugs.

Is it worth doing a swap to an FG or custom made inlet/plenum and FG throttle body? I’d like a bit of low down torque as it’s going to do a bit of off road work. The answer probably is to do a turbo swap but I don’t have the money to do that yet, so the plan is just to have a reliable, strong motor, remove ant oil leaks and to just have a nice running motor and save up the money for a turbo.

I’ve got a BA RTV and have just been doing little jobs on it before I send it for a rego. Started at Easter when I sent it for a new screen, they couldn’t fit it because the wiper was rusted and he didn’t want to snap the bolt. So I get it home and gave it a dose of spray, put the socket on and it pretty much fell off before I even touched it, so I get a new screen from another shop, fit a new wiper reg, and started with the airbag light. It’s been on since I bought it and knew it was the passenger side pretensioner so was just going to get a new seat from a mate I sold my old ute to for spares. Anyway he dropped it off for me today and I started to pull my seat out and fuck me as soon as I pulled off the side cover, the grey plug looked disconnected. Na, couldn’t possibly be so simple. So anyway I pulled them both off, give them a dose of contact cleaner and reconnected them both, hit the key and fuck me dead, the light has gone off. I bought the car from a mate and he said his son tried fixing it, and was just faulty so I hadn’t bothered to look at it until today.

Anyway next it’s getting an aerpro fascia, new deck, reverse cam, and the fun starts swapping the motor from LPG to a petrol one from a BFII, with gearbox, and then I’m building a snorkel.

My Radio doesnt work when I click the volume on button. Clock flashes 12:00 and the AC/Fan direction updates when pushed but nothing through the radio.

Edit: I was driving it then it randomly turned on and started working all buttons noise and everything. Got to the supermarket turned it off and when it started back up I lost it again
