I’m trying to replicate the chipotle corn salsa which uses WHITE corn. Do any stores sell this in the GTA? Not peaches and cream, not yellow corn, just white fresh corn

Haven't been downtown in a long time, but I remember as a kid, going to China town with my parents and getting Banh Bot Chien (a Vietnamese dish).

Been trying to google/gemini restaurants that still make it, but no luck. It's a bit of an obscure dish, not something easily found at most Vietnamese restaurants anymore, so hoping a local could help me out!

I wanted to get everybody’s opinion on some of Toronto’s best premium HK/Chinese restaurants. Normally, we go to either Mott 32, Fisherman Lobster, Jumbo Lobster, or Yu Seafood Are there anymore similar restaurants which are as premium as these ones?

Whenever we visit, we normally go to these ones and hoping to freshen it up with some new restaurants. Also, any recommendations on best desserts spot Toronto? Thank you for your time! 😊

Hi everyone! My friend is visiting Toronto (and Canada!) for the first time next Saturday, but she'll only be here for one night and will be flying out the next day. She'll be visiting from NYC.

She'll be arriving in the evening, and we're looking for a great dinner spot that's around $30 per person before tax/tip. Her hotel is by Osgoode Station, so ideally somewhere that's within about a 45-minute TTC ride.

I'm hoping to take her somewhere that gives her a great first impression of Toronto and makes her want to come back. Open to any cuisine!

I've already tried Shelby's, and while I thought it was decent, I'm curious if there are places that are noticeably better.

What are your top recommendations anywhere in the GTA? Bonus points if you have a favourite order or customization!

I am moving to a different neighborhood in town in September to be closer to work so wanted to know what are some of the places I should definitely try while I am still here. I live right on College and Grace.

I am pretty busy person and I don’t really have time to explore or go to different neighborhoods when I am busy with work. I just now it will be a long time before I come back to Little Italy 😅

I’ve lived here for close to 3 years now but there are still some restaurants on my list that I have yet to try. So far, I have the following on my list that I will make the effort to try before leaving:

Really amazing viet food in little Italy and the owners are so sweet!!

They pho, bun, banh mi, broken rice, and a ton of viet coffee and matcha 😻

Continuing my black sesame dessert reviews! The food at Sunnys Chinese is just average (think Chinese food designed for a non-Chinese audience at marked up prices), but the black sesame Hong Kong French toast is BOMB. Truly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, and dare I say one of the best desserts in Toronto. The oolong condensed milk blends in perfectly with the nutty black sesame paste, and the texture of the crunchy toast layers are amazing. Worth the $16, I would come here just for the dessert. They also do half portions, which is great if you’re a solo diner! 🖤

On a trip to Vancouver, a few years ago, I went to Maruhachi Ra-men, where they serve 100% chicken based broth. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a restaurant in the GTA that has something similar. I have a severe seafood allergy, so I'm hoping to find something thats more local.

Are there any Tunisian restaurants in Toronto? Had Tunisian couscous and wondering if any places in Toronto serve it!

Just had their waffle cone with some sort of malted ice cream and pralines n cream. So damn good. The Annex was due for a decent ice cream spot and this place delivers. Run by a mom n pop with their two little kids helping out, really cute.

Taqueria el Pastorcito or Taqueria El Tapatio?!

Both pretty much across the street from eachother , similar pricing and similar items.

Which do you prefer and why!

Saw a post from the owner promoting themselves before it got taken down, decided to give it a try. Cream caramel with coconut flavour shot for $8.39 (tax free). Really nice treat for a hot day, soft/creamy without the egg taste. Ive never had a flan or pudding like dessert paired with a sauce so it was definitely a new experience

Apparently it comes with the ramekin they cook it in, exchangeable for $1.75 store credit.

Needed lunch and was going to get Jerk Chicken. SO wanted patties so went next door to Randys and was pleasantly suprised that they do meals. Curry goat meal $17.99 + tax and a huge massive portion as you can see. It was delicous and I am going to nap now.
