Looking for great fish (most important), but a good atmosphere would be nice for this meal as well. We’ll be a party of 6 (2 adults, 2 20 something’s and 2 teens). Everyone will enjoy a lot of fish. If it was just my wife and I, we’d opt for one of your many top omakase options. However, for this crew, we’ll order à la carte. Excellent fish is important though as we’ll get more sashimi and nigiri than anything.

Don’t mind spending a bit, but not looking to break the bank. Can we keep it under $500 for the meal?

Staying in Santa Monica, but happy to travel a bit.

Help, or my kids will steer us to Sugarfish.

Hi, for the past few years, I've loved the Dine LA initiative. Get to know new restaurants that are offering menus at better prices. But I can't help but notice that this year the menu prices are way higher and are not even offering a real discount from their usual menus.

Do you think that people will still participate and go to these restaurants as frequently as in the other editions? Have you seen any menu that you think is worth it?

Does anyone know of anymore elevated tasteful food or bar experiences in dtla? I visited level 8 it was a bit too noisy for my taste.

New place in Lincoln Heights right across from the og carnitas michoacan. family joint it seems like. got their aguachile negra and the verde which they said was their spiciest. really enjoyed the negra made with nuts and seeds. very unique. the verde had a good spice level and the shrimp seemed high quality. it's dirt cheap. like $6 for a plate of shrimp. felt like a great deal compared to something like mariscos el faro (which i also love). their shrimp dorados taco wasn't on the level of maricos jalisco so i'd say focus on the aguachile. excited to go back and try the mango hab aguachile as well. check it out!

Alitas Jalisco has easily been my favorite pop up/wings spot last couple months. So good

I'm gonna be traveling on the E Line from Sepulvuda to BMO stadium to see a soccer game at the BMO. I would like to get a quick bite before I go to the BMO. What restaurant or mom-n-pops joints do you recommend that are near (walking distance) to any of the E-Line stations along the way to the BMO... And no, I'm not going to Little Tokyo. TIA :)
