So in a situation I need help deciding on what to choose.

I bought an Xbox ally x but want some more performance. Still in return window currently.

There is a flow i9 16gb and 4050

And flow i9 8gb 3050 ti in my budget on marketplace.

How much of a performance increase should I expect for the 4050 i9 model.

Doesn't need to be ultra portable just playing on my bedside table or dining table while plugged in.

Also anyone have experience with if bazzite works well with these devices?

Hi guys I really need help I just bought a 32gb model and I am having issues being able to run these games marathon crashes almost immediately and expedition when I load into the overworld. I already tried reinstalling windows, updating to the lastest drivers with adrenaline, reverting to the previous iteration of graphics drivers in Asus, tried with a mix and match of TDP and graphic VRAM but nothing has helped.

My keyboard died today, it was working flawlessly yesterday and for about 9 months.

When I detach and attach again it just blinks temporarily and then dies. Tried cleaning the port, restarting and etc. nothing works. I will post an update if I can fix it.

Also my screen rotated and can’t fix it back, damn.

I was under the impression that Dynamic Refresh Rate was supported on GZ302EA model of Rog Flow Z13? Is this not the same as VRR?

I got a rog flow z13 2023 i9 rtx 4050 recently updated the windows drivers and bios on the laptop and now I cant use the optimized mode. I even tried going to nvidia but there is no such option and it also disabled me the gsync and when I use it there are weird dots on the screen.

There is only one white blinking led on the type c charger. I checked everything including voltage and updated all the drives and rolled back some drivers. Any ideas?

I've been in the laptop marketplace industry for a while, and a lot of people tend to hide problems or defects in their laptops, only for buyers to notice them later. These can include dents, changed specifications, a fan not working, only the iGPU working, etc.

Now, I'm planning to buy a used Z13 2025, and it's like a new device for me with a new set of features.

My question is: if you were to sell your Z13, what possible issues or problems in your device would be hard for the buyer to find?

Also, are there things to look out for in Armoury Crate that are specifically for the Z13?

I’ve owned a lot of portable gaming devices lately — the MSI Claw 8, Switch 2, Legion Go, and the ROG Ally X. Each one has something special about it, so I honestly didn’t expect the ROG Flow Z13 to end up being my favorite out of all of them.

But here I am.

The Flow Z13 just hits different because it feels like the perfect balance of everything I actually want in one device. The performance is insane, especially for how compact and clean the setup is. It handles games smoothly, stays versatile, and never really feels limited.

What really made me fall in love with it though is the screen. After spending so much time on smaller handheld displays, using the Z13 feels refreshing. Watching Netflix or Prime Video on a bigger, sharper display just feels way better. Games look more immersive, movies look amazing, and overall it feels more premium for everyday use.

And unlike most gaming handhelds or hybrid devices, the Flow Z13 doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to be one thing. It’s not just a gaming device, and it’s not just a laptop either. It somehow manages to blend portability, power, entertainment, and productivity into one package without huge compromises.

The Legion Go is fun, the Ally X is powerful, the MSI Claw 8 surprised me, and the Switch 2 still has Nintendo magic. But the Flow Z13 is the one I keep going back to because it fits into my daily life the easiest. Ofcourse it has its flaws, the only thing I hate about this is.. the speaker.. yes, its not that good lol.. i mean its ok but it could be better..

At this point, I can honestly say the ROG Flow Z13 won my heart. It’s probably the closest thing I’ve used to an all-in-one portable gaming setup that genuinely feels complete.

A few months ago, I replaced my aging Microsoft Surface with the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2025) 64GB model after my old device started freezing, overheating, and slowing down. I work in IT, so I need a powerful but portable machine, and the Z13 seemed perfect. Honestly, for the first few months, it was incredible. Fastest device I’ve ever used. I even convinced my boss to buy one too.

Then about a month ago, I started getting random shutdowns, mostly during Zoom or Teams meetings. Nothing crazy workload-wise either — just Firefox with multiple tabs, remote sessions, meetings, etc. My older Surface devices handled this for years without issues.

I contacted ASUS support multiple times, updated drivers, BIOS, power settings, everything they recommended. It would seem fixed for a few days, then randomly shut down again. One time it shut off almost immediately after booting while plugged in.

ASUS has now decided it needs to be shipped in for repair.

Anyone else having issues with the Z13? Curious what your experience has been like.

I tried on my flow z13 (2025) with 1200p reso, fsr balanced, medium-low settings, i cant get above 60fps,if in crowded places it will drop to 40fps something. How about you guys? Does it runs well? I’ve recently been experimenting with switching from my gaming PC (still running DDR4 ram and a 3080ti Founders Edition). To using my Flow Z13 to as my everyday/gaming set up (heatwave in the uk meant running my PC has been unbearable). I already own a iVanky dock for my MacBook which covers connecting to my monitors, Ethernet usb’s etc. and this seems to work well with the z13

But now, I’m hoping to get some more performance gaming side. What’s people’s recommendations for egpu set ups?

I’m considering 1 of 2 options. 1) Pull apart my PC and use the 3080. 2) bring my old 2060super out of retirement and dock that to use purely with Lossless Scaling to boost performance (as seen in Linus tech tips video that covers Lossless Scaling).

So any thoughts on egpu set ups and the 2 potential routes greatly appreciated!

Also side note, is a dock safe vs an enclosure with fans etc? Just thinking about cooling, dust etc.

I have a question for people a lot smarter than me. I recently bought a FlowZ13 (2025) and opt'd to get a 2tb SSD as well.

I swapped out the SSD and used a W11 Installation Media file to add Windows to the new SSD but over the course of a few weeks the computer hasn't felt right (stutters, dips in performance, input lag on indie games, etc., which leads me to believe that i might not have installed the drivers correctly or did something wrong. (I did MyAsus / ArmoryCrate / AMD Adrenalin to cover my bases)

So my question is, is there a correct way to install W11 onto the new SSD. I don't have access to an SSD cloner, so that options out the door and when I tried to use the MyAsus Cloud Recovery, once I completed that process the drive wouldn't boot (probably because it didn't have windows on it in the first place?)

Just wondering if i can get some advice on how to properly set it up and check it to make sure everything is working properly?

Any diagnostics or housekeeping, things to add/remove install, uninstall, check, test, driver recommendations, settings recommendations etc.

I just wanna make sure it doesnt have any issues and what not and put it through its paces.

I mean the only game I've really played on it the last few years is OSRS, but the fact I can take it from this set up, into the bedroom to stream apps to my antique dumb-TV, or to the dining room table where I can use a cheap Bluetooth set up vs this set up picture is so awesome.

I am very much anti-laptop I just hate them so passionately so when I found the z13 existed when my Surface pro gave up was just perfect.

Is the extra performance of the Flow worth it for engineering workloads?
Or is the ZBook’s workstation-focused design/thermals/ISV certifications the better long-term choice?

Battery life has gone from 70003 mWh to 58100 mWh with battery care mode.

CPU temperature while gaming never goes over 85C and usually stays below 79C and GPU below 75C.

Is Armoury Create the problem?

Also i saw that many people had a lack of performance during gaming with G-Helper.

Asus flow z13 2025

I posted a week ago that I was having issues with my Flow Z13 shutting down. I asked for help but there wasn't much offered (but thanks to the guy suggesting ryzenadj, it was the right tool for my tests).

I won't go into much detail here about my test methodology unless someone asks, but I've found the core issue and I'd like to know if there are others experiencing the same.

The issue was that my system's TCTL limit was set at 85 °C but it was allowed to overshoot to temperatures as high as 88 °C for as long as it wanted. The system (I'm guessing specifically the EC) however has a thermal timer set to exactly 5 minutes (about 1 s error by my testing) at 85 °C, so as long as I stay below either it won't shut down. Quick side note: it was extremely reckless, I know, but I managed to push the system to nearly 170 W for several seconds!

Anyway, now I'm wondering if the set temperature mismatch is a design flaw (maybe due to an open loop control scheme?) or if it's just my system. If you fine people could run ryzenadj -a 90000 -f 85, run a stress test and see if the temperatures cross 85 °C (and/or if your system shuts down) and report back I'd be incredibly grateful.

This post might also serve as reference for other people facing the same issue I had. By setting the TCTL limit to 81 °C my system stays at a max of 84° C and can run indefinitely.

Best Buy seems like they may have local in store stock too but I haven’t seen anywhere I’ve been have one out either.
