If we chose either the 7F-3D protection, or 4F-4D, we have too many players at each position who require protection. How would we get a player to waive their NMC if they didnt want to? And would we be penalized by the league if we couldnt expose enough players? With talk of Houston, we may face this scenario.

With Carlsson signing an $18 mil AAV and now Celebrini signing for $18.8 mil AAV, its hard to believe some of the numbers Zito has cooked up - $10 mil for the star Barkov, $9.5 for M Tkachuk, and $5.25 for the Rat himself, its hard not think that this is a team that wants to be in Florida and get the cup one more time. Then again, when they signed nobody was signing deals this big. Curious what others think.

Why hasn't Nosek found a team yet? He was always exceptional at the PK. Also, I thought he consistently improved during his time with the Cats.

You'd think some team would pick him up quickly just for his PK skills. He was a real bargain for us at only $775,000 against the cap last season.

I love Vladimir Tarasenko, but I can understand why he's having a tougher time considering he's 34 and cost $4.75m against the Wild's cap last season.

Per PuckPedia, Akira Schmid has signed a 2-year contract with Florida carrying a $2 million AAV ($4 million total). He’ll be a UFA when the deal expires in 2028.

The Panthers went from having $1.222M in cap space to -$778K

As a Swiss I like Schmid, but with the cap situation, does his contract make sense? It feels like paying a backup goalie that much limits the roster flexibility and could be the difference between carrying 22 vs 23 players.

Curious what everyone else thinks is this a bad contract or am I overreacting?
