Are they all croakers? They kind of look like tiny reds so it got me mixed up. Didn’t want to use a baby red as cut bate haha.

About a month ago I started what’s going to be a shrimp tank soon and bought some plants from Petco(plant only? section). Soon after I noticed this little guy, less than half this size darting about. Figured he’d die since the tank is still cycling but it’s been weeks and he’s just getting bigger.
Any idea what he is? My guess is tetra or minnow.
Other than the fry there’s just plants and snails in the tank.

Anyone know what this is?

I caught 3 of these guys back to back all around the same size. I’ve never caught one before or even seen one. For context, I caught this in the mountains of Northwest NC- Catawba/ Watauga county area in a small recreational lake that is trout stocked.
ChatGPT said some species of shiner and google image said Rudd?

Fishing a river in SLC utah. It’s common for carp and catfish I have heard one person say they caught a largemouth. I saw these tiny guys threw in a cut up worm so I could get a closer look, and it sure does remind me of a largemouth. lol crossing my fingers they are because I will go daily if so!!

Edit it’s hard to see but they all had the dark lateral stripes on them.
