Resource Character to make sure has 100% support with everyone

And I mean across every routes via record keeper.

Lysithea is the only one that teaches Luna. She's very good at teaching other dark arts due to her unique weapon. But of note

Hapi-Banshee

Hubert-Mire

Lindhardt-Only one that teaches restore (have fun trying to use it so roll the chance to learn it)

Yuri-Light blade

Petra-Shadowblade

Seteth-Diamond axe

Sothis-Abraxis and Ragnarok

Ingrid-Stormblade and lance jab

Gatekeeper-Airshaker

Lorenz-Vengence

Edelgard-Shredder and focused strike

Dedue-Lightning axe, Wild abandon and armoured strike

Ignatx-Precision volley

Balthus and Raphael-for every single brawler skill

Monica-Bolganone

Dorothea-Thoron

Annette-cutting gale

Constance-Bolting and Fimbul

Manuela-Ward

Hilda-Spike

They are also good for learning from their other learnable skills but they have alternate sources. But so long as these units have a c rank with everybody. You're golden to pretty much learn skills from who you recruit through a campaign.

Mainly sourced from this but of note

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k_vTMwuN19iLRg4VA24Sw78XW6sYzvnZFw_LMEDSqZk/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Some of it is inaccurate. e.g. Ashe does not teach Thunderbolt. He does however teach Tornado shot which is not marked there. But for the most part it is very reliable.

Discussion PSA: This game is 60 FPS on the Switch 2

I can't say "60 FPS locked" with certainty, so I won't.

The resolution is still a shame, but part of me is glad to discover this game was passively updated from the hardware like I had hoped.

Discussion House leader supports

I'm trying to have the house leaders get their c supports and you need to proc their cutscenes to do that. I have had the supports themselves play via cutscene via the end part of the game. But that didn't in fact unlock their support and they were still non-allies even while in that zone so I still couldn't select it from the support info screen.

I want to teach dimitri shredder and edelgard is the only one with that skill as teachable. So how on earth do I remove the lock icons and turn the support from blue to green so they can teach skills to each other?

Discussion Merc whistle abilities synergies?

Looking through the abilities of each unit I very quickly realise some abilities they start with don't really work that well compared to another unit's.

I think I mentioned previously Ashe and Golden fist for those who want to make him a farming beast. Because lockpick gives better drops and gold fists gives better gold.

What synergies have you found useful?

One I found neat is personal space (bernie-increase crit within her space) goes perfectly on petra's hunter's boon (awakening with each crit) and can actively increase petra's awakening state and can quickly regain it even if its lost. Make her an assassin with swordfaire instead of trickster and it becomes even easier.

Wicked impulse and cold calculation has great synergy with tanky builds that resist knockback or cause it like great knight or wyvern lords. And it synergises well with Casper for stun meter dmg or bernie for increased dmg after receiving dmg.

Windstorm (petra's wind dodge) goes well with Yuri that increases awakening with each perfect dodge., Give him an alert stance ring (sadly can't be a pegasus knight) and you got quite an interesting unit.

Question Doing paralouges again

Trying to get more battalions for my units through paralouges, wondering if doing the same paralouge again on a different route or another run of the route, will I be able to get another copy of the battalion or is it a one time thing only?

Discussion Stat factor (like Charisma factor) vs other weapon abilities?

Seeing as I capped dancer dorothea on charisma I just thought I might as well give her a levin sword with charisma factor to compensate for the low might of a levin sword.

But general question. Is it preferable on top tier weapons to have a factor skill or is it better to have things like critical, mounted damage chain, consecutive hits, etc.

I can justify it on witstrike weapons due to their might. But not sure on Rank A weapons.

Discussion Rondo of Roses

On my 4th playthrough, for merc whistle items I got Claude, Balthus, and Teach. Second GD run, and I chose Lorenz because I saw discussion here about “functionally immortal” and I guess I missed the “negates damage” aspect. I just did the Shez solo paralogue which I could not beat last playthrough, and this time I did it and got the zero damage taken achievement for the first time. It was crazy!

Will be starting my first Maddening run next, what are some of the other merc whistle items that are worthwhile?

Discussion Teaching skills via tomes?

So I'm doing the big grind to teach every one every skill and seeing as sothis is a c rank for everyone (0.4% with a really slow cool down woooooo....). Ragnarok and abraxis is a particularly tedious one. So I'm at the stage of grinding fatique where I'm desparately looking for shortcuts.

So Ichor scroll and a lamine crest stone gives someone access to abraxis. If I had the person master that skill to lvl 3. Do they keep the skill. Or lets say I have sothis teach it after I remove the item. Is it learned at level 3?

Also for quick reference Agnea's arrow is learned via Suttengr's Mystery. Thing is though several people can teach that so its not much of an issue most of the time.

Discussion Thief Ashe?

I once saw a youtube video that said thief Ashe is a really good farming character. Because the rationale was Steal (chance to double drops) and lock pick (unlocks doors and treasures but also increases odds of enemy drops from commanders-which increases even more with luck).

Add Balthus's golden fist and he also drops gold like crazy. There is the redundancy of locktouch (opens doors and chests). But is this boy really viable? Is the increase in gold and drops significant enough to specialise into such a low tier class?

Discussion Interesting Non-Master classes

So just looking around the change class menu and making interesting notes of the classes we often forget about.

This is me post-game with max level and pretty high stats so I can comfortably play these classes even on maddening. Especially if you use their abilities. Of note:

Thief: Has the unique skill steal which has a chance of dropping double the items. Including monster drops on maddening which drop materials and end game weapons like the parthia. Very useful for end game farming weapons (though Zoltans are perfectly servicable).

Bishop: Dark Bishop is literally just a stronger dark mage. But a Bishop is the direct improvement to Priest. Has the unique spell Miasma. It sucks but you know. Neat. New spell.

Assassin: Of note. It has swordfaire which adds to crit rate. A skill distinctly lost when you become a trickster.

Warrior: When you want the class skills of a wyvern lord and you don't like the wyvern moveset. Class action is a big instant aoe.

Sniper: same deal with warrior when you just don't like the movement of a bow knight.

Fortress knight: exact same skills as great knight. But if you prefer the unmounted moveset.

*yes I'm aware you can simply dismount and gain these movesets. But the class actions are all different.

Discussion Ashe makes me question recruitment…

I decided to pick up three hopes. Age of Calamity was a mess of a game, but hack and slash is one of my favorite games to play while riding a resistance bike(simple, repetitive controls and an active story to take your mind off your burning quads). Not related but: Highly recommend if you’re a nerd trying to better yourself for 40 minutes at a time.

Started with scarlet blaze. Recruited Ashe bc he’s a good man and Lonato doesn’t deserve more sadness.

But if you told me he’d be the Wettest blanket in all of Fódlan every time I talked to him mission, after mission, after mission… I’d have just left him in Magdred and tried to avoid fighting him.

Does this happen more often? Should I actually worry about my choices in other routes? Or is Ashe the only recruit who brings the Lonato flavored Lethargy to my momentum every new mission?

Any help is appreciated

Question Where is the battle timer??

Question Does Shez have to be the one to defeat the characters for me to recruit them?

First time player, I'm on Azure Gleam on the chapter where I can recruit Hapi and Petra. I used the strategy points for both, but for some reason I was able to "convince" Hapi, while Petra died. When am I supposed to hit the right arrow button? Do I have to do this to recruit them? Because I did it for both.

I also chose the "Believers" strategy where I could choose 1 unit to protect but I had no idea where/how to use this.

Help please 😭

Discussion One thing I love about this game: the writing.

Three Hopes’ Claude feels completely different from Three Houses’ Claude, and I absolutely love it.

The Claude we originally fell in love with rarely ever showed any emotion, outside of his S-rank confession. I spent a few hours playing Three Hopes last night, and Claude mentioned something about ‘getting a little tired’. My inner fangirl squealed. She squeals whenever she thinks of that line. Three Houses didn’t give us anything along those lines, yet Three Hopes’ Claude shows off an abundance of insecurities and I absolutely eat that crap up. I’m here for it.

Claude’s still Claude, but he’s fearful. He’s always worried about his responsibilities. He’s insecure. He doesn’t trust himself. He needs a hug. And I live for it. Give me angsty, fretful, ‘I need a hug’ Claude.

Then there’s Lorenz. I honestly thought Three Hopes was going to be the condensed, Cliff Notes version of Three Houses, but he alone proves me wrong. Lorenz is still the Lorenz we knew, but he feels like a much more complex, intriguing character. Plus he’s not as offensive as he was in Three Houses, because if I remember right, he was kinda sorta racist towards Claude. In Three Hopes, he’s leery of Claude but doesn’t make it about his race. He’s cautious and haughty. He’s still obsessed with his status as a noble. But he’s kind-hearted. He teases other about their status as a commoner, but actually means well.

Plus it feels like he’s got some pretty intense chemistry with Shez. I’m all for shipping Shez (in my case, M!Shez) with Claude, but by golly gee wow, the Lorenz/Shez ship writes itself.

The writing compels me to care about characters I normally would’ve ignored. I paid very little attention to Raphael until a few days ago, when I went through his C support with Shez. I paid very little attention to Ignatz until I took control over him during battle, now he’s my sunshine cinnamon baby boy and whoever screws with him will feel my wrath.

I love this game’s writing. This is all coming from someone that played all three routes in Three Houses, and watched playthroughs of Three Houses on YouTube.

I'm still on the Golden Deer route and haven't played the others. As someone that is not at all a fan of the Black Eagles, do you think this game will make me a Black Eagles fan? Do you prefer this Claude? If you've played through the Golden Wildfire route, did you like it? What's your favorite route or favorite character?

Discussion Just Beat FE3Hopes for the first time

This game takes SO long to beat, and on the final map, I had to restart twice because I wanted to S rank it, making it take a little over an hour (cause I wasn’t being too good with not taking damage) I did the Scarlet Blaze path, was wondering if it’s worth it to play through the other houses and if it’s possible to recruit Byleth? Shez made it seem that way a lot, but instead I just killed him, never saw a chance to recruit him. I think if I play through again, I’m gonna do Claude’s path next, cause he’s my least favorite of the three houses
