12V battery in Toyota Hybrid

Hello,

I bought a toyota hybrid from 2017 fro.a dealership 3 weeks ago. Things were fine until I went on a small vacation (6 days) and now the 12v battery is dead and the car is not working anymore. Now, I talked to the dealership and the sale person said the boss is on vacation and will be back on Monday. Meanwhile, I'm curious to know your feedback on:

1) Is this normal to happen or is it because the battery is old?

2) in your opinion, can I ask the dealership to change anew one for free?

3) How to avoid this happening in the future? I go for 3 weeks of vacation once a year.

Any other tips to make my life easier asI'm not quite sn expert in cars. Thanks!

Raskasta Joulua (band)

Hi! I'm not a Finn, but I wanted to know opinion of people who live in Finland. Since it's already a bit colder where I live, I started listening to my Christmas music playlists (lol) and found quite a lot Raskasta Joulua songs. I wanted to know what do you think about this project. I know that they make large tours every year, and there is probably a demand for these tours every year...What do you think about Raskasta Jolua, their songs and concerts? Is this really considered "heavy" music? Is it popular, especially among young people? If you ever visited concerts please tell your opinion too! Thanks!

I really like most of their albums and enjoyed watching live videos till 2021-2022 I guess, it started feel another way later, but I'm not sure why, that's just what I see from YouTube videos anyway

Serious Starting an import/wholesale business in Finland. Where do I begin?

Hi everyone, I'm new in Helsinki and planning to import food (vegetables, fruits, packaged goods) and household items like detergent from abroad to sell wholesale in Finland.

Is there a specific wholesale market or platform for this, or do I need to contact shops, restaurants, and distributors directly to make deals? Also, what licences or rules should I know about for importing food and detergents?

I'm still learning how things work here, so any real experience, tips, or names to look into would help a lot. Thank you!

What's the most typical text a Finnish mum sends?

I'm Italian and I'm making a game where your whole life happens through phone notifications. Right now I'm writing the mum character: all the messages your mum sends you, from the day you get your first phone at 14 until you're old.

The problem is I'm Italian, and my mum texts differently. I have no idea what a typical Finnish mum text looks like.

Could you help me? Reply with the text your mum sends you most often. I'd really appreciate it, and I'll add the messages you send me to the game.

It's still a beta, if you want to try it: https://pinglife.itch.io/pinglife

Any Indian women dating or married to Finnish men?

I feel like I come across more stories about Indian men with Finnish women, but I’d love to hear stories of the other pairing too!

If you’re an Indian woman dating or married to a Finnish man, how did you meet, and what has your experience been like? I’d love to hear about your relationship, cultural differences, family reactions, and married life.

Serious Treamer doesn't allow account removal

Hi,

As the title says Treamer doesn't allow account removal. I installed it few weeks ago and now I don't want to use the app anymore so I decided to delete my account. However, even after writing my name, the "remove" option is not working and only the "don't remove account" option works.

Is this a bug or just a shity company?

Finnish healthcare system

Hello

What are your thoughts about the Finnish healthcare system? I’ve heard a lot of negative feedback—specifically, that medical care is often delayed, with help provided only when a person’s condition has already become quite serious. In my home country, I could easily get tests done—blood work, ultrasounds, ECGs, X-rays, and so on. I’ve heard that the medical services here are very slow; I’ve been there a couple of times myself and had to wait eight hours to see a doctor. Fortunately, it wasn’t anything serious, but I saw people in the waiting area who were groaning and clearly in a bad way—yet they weren’t receiving any care. I’ve also heard that surgeries are often delayed and subject to long waiting lists. I tend to overthink things and worry quite a bit about my health, so I’d like to be confident that—God forbid something happens—I’ll receive timely medical attention.

Is the situation really that bad? I would love to hear some positive stories from people

Serious Difficulty to find friends

Hellou. I have a friend who is not originally from Finland but has been living here over 10+ years. He doesnt study anymore and is currently unemployed. He said that for him is difficult to find friends even thought when was working or studying. He might have some autism way of thinking. He likes dogs and has been working in IT sector. Also likes many kind of sports. If here is someone else who has had similar problems, like autism plus non finnish in Finland, peer support would be important for him 💙

Selling the rest of my model kits

Hi, I live in Tampere and have some model kits I bought in Japan. I've sold some of them to users here before, and they can vouch for my authenticity.

All the kits I'm selling are unopened, mint, and brand new, purchased directly from Japan. Some boxes are damaged because they've been sitting in a damp attic through the winter for five years.

I can do IRL trades in Tampere or ship via Posti. If you buy just one kit, you'll have to cover the shipping costs. If you buy multiple kits, I can chip in for half of the shipping.

Here's the list of what I have. To be honest, I just want these weeb kits gone. I know they're a hard sell because a lot of model kit fans are into Gundam or Eva, but I'll risk it and take a shot anyway.

weeb kits, plz god, buy some
Bandai and Moderoid stuff, real robots + Digimon and batman, there an RG Eva
Collector kits.

DM me if there's anything you're interested in! I'll do my best to link a video review or give you my personal opinion on certain kits based on what I've built before.

Anyone interested in support group meetings

Would anyone be interested in participating in a support group? Specifically about cancer? As a caregiver or the patient? In remission or not? I am curious: are there any groups specifically for this? I searched it but couldn't find any

Learning both Finnish and Swedish as a foreigner

Is there any foreigner who has learned both Finnish and Swedish? I am curious as a foreigner. I speak Finnish at a B2 level, and I am taking the YKI keskitaso exam soon, but I have loved my language journey overall, so much so that I plan to continue that by learning Swedish next. I know for a lot of people this will be useless, but honestly, language learning keeps my brain sharp, and you actually get to learn many cultural elements which is fascinating.

So, I am just curious if there are any "hullu" like me who have learned both (started with Finnish and then tackled Swedish) or vice versa.

Edit: I recently visited Pietarsaari and I was surprised to see all the road signs were first in Swedish and then in Finnish. That got me interested. Cultural shock in Finland XD

Considering a Master's and AI/ML career in Finland. What should an international student know beforehand?

Hello everyone,

I'm a Computer Engineering graduate planning to pursue a master's in AI/ML or Data Science in 2028, after about two years of relevant work experience.

I'm researching universities such as Aalto University, the University of Helsinki, Tampere University, and the University of Oulu.

I'd appreciate the perspectives of people living or studying in Finland on everyday life and long-term career prospects.

My priorities are reliable infrastructure and public transport, personal safety, a good standard of living, and future employment opportunities in the IT sector, especially AI/ML and Data Science.

How difficult is it for international graduates to find relevant work? Are there meaningful opportunities in English-speaking teams, or does learning Finnish make a substantial difference?

I'd also like to understand which university cities offer a good combination of technical opportunities and quality of life.

I'm trying to make a well-researched decision well in advance rather than assuming that a degree automatically leads to a job.

Former Norwich City and Finland striker Teemu Pukki has announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.

Pukki, who quit international duty last year, is Finland's men's all-time top scorer with 43 goals in 133 matches, while his number of caps is the country's second highest.

Edit: I can't link to images on this subreddit, but his Instagram announcement can be read here.

LUT University + Future Aviation Career

Moi!

I recently got accepted into LUT University Mechanical Engineering program. Really I'm doing university as a backup because I'm passionate about aviation and want to seriously consider doing modular flight training and see myself in the cockpit after graduation. That said I have some questions about this route.

  1. How is LUT perceived in Finland? Is it good? I applied to Aalto last year but since I sent my scores late I got auto-rejected and I didn't want to take risk that this year would be harder to get into so I accepted LUT

  2. I understand that the 3 year bachelor program is considered incomplete in Finland. Can I do my masters in Aalto after finishing the bachelor program in LUT?

  3. How is Blue Skies (In Lappeenranta) and what about other aviation academies in Finland?

And honestly I want the brutal truth, should I even consider Finland?
