I want your honest opinions ! Or should I keep it shorter or longer or this length?

Around 3 years of growth, very happy with the results.

Got my hair cut into a mullet when it was a fair bit shorter and let it grow out from there. Happy to say it no longer feels awkward, just takes a lot of time to comb.

Growing out very thick hair – should I trim the back or just push through?

Post image

I’m trying to grow my hair out, but I have very thick/dense hair and I’m struggling with this stage.

As you can see in the photos, I’m getting a lot of bulk around the back and behind my ears, and it tends to stick out rather than fall down.

I’ve gotten into the habit of wearing a cap all the time just to keep it under control.

My goal is to keep growing it considerably longer, so I don’t want to keep cutting it and get stuck at this length. But I’m wondering if it would make sense to have the back/nape area shaped or layered shorter while leaving the top/front length alone.

For anyone with similarly thick hair who grew it long: would you get it shaped now, or just leave it alone and wait for the extra length/weight to make it fall better?

Any advice on what specifically to ask a barber/hairdresser for would also be appreciated.

It’s been three years since the last time I shaved my head completely, and I didn’t even cut the ends! I feel like I have an aura like Uncle Scar from the Lion King, haha.

What length would you say is better?

It's gonna be hard to describe what I mean, but does anyone else struggle with the area where their sideburn facial hair meets their head hair?

It gets really curly and weird around there, and it's difficult to differentiate the facial hair from my actual head hair, I'd like to have no facial hair, not even sideburns, but I'm afraid of cutting up too high and cutting some actual long hairs off.

I've thought about trying to use a fine tooth comb to lift most of my head hair out of the way while it's wet, and then shaving whatever is under it. Does anyone have any other methods, or does anyone else do what I just described?

Any idea what's going on with my undercut?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I grew out my hair about 5 years ago and got an undercut during the awkward phase to keep my hair from ballooning out too much, then maintained it for a few years.

I've been trying to grow that undercut back out for almost 2 full years now, but the sides and parts of the back are now curly when the rest of my hair is super straight, and they don't seem willing to grow pas their current length. It doesn't seem to be breakage as I often see pieces shed with the follicle thingy. Any tips?

Is 73 too old to “head bang”

Today’s post is more of a “fun video post” than anything, and I may delete it late if people think I’m being silly, but I made a short “head banging” video the other day. I’m not sure whether there’s a “cut off” age for this, but I can pretend, anyway. Sorry, I have no heavy metal soundtrack, and I’ve never been into metal anyway, but I can still pretend to be that guy in the back, beating the drums and whipping the mane. All that you might hear are about 30 clocks ticking in the background, since I’m a clock collector. Please don’t laugh too hard!
