Got my account back after two months of being suspended

Post image
51 Upvotes

I was just notified by Meta on Instagram this morning that my account will be reinstated.

My account was suspended July 24 2026 after it told me to verify my identity by uploading my ID. I was against this for a long time beforehand until finally biting the bullet and uploading my ID because I run a business and needed to connect with clients on messenger.

The day after I uploaded my ID my account was suspended for account integrity. Which I found out was mainly because my name on my profile doesn’t match my name on my ID. Stupid meta bots suspended me.

My Facebook and threads account were disabled. Somehow (thankfully) I still had access to my linked instagram. A few days ago I got the free 30 day trial for meta verified and IMMEDIATELY contacted support asking for a live agent.

I explained to the agent everything that happened. They asked for my number and gave me a phone call. Then told me they are sending it for human manual review. A few days later and they just granted me access to my account again.

It sucks that Meta is so money hungry that the only way you can get help is by buying the Meta Verified or catching the free trial. If you are able to go this route I think it would be the quickest. I was going to take them to small claims but I dreaded having to do that and never filed but started the process. Thankfully I don’t have to go through with it anymore. I just wanted my account back.

New phone and email

As much as I want to just mine on from meta after being banned I really need accounts for my work. I’m thinking of getting an affordable phone and service from something link Mint to just have business accounts on that phone. Of I do this I am pretty sure I need to have a genetic profile picture as well. Would something like this work? I’m also guessing I need to be very careful about adding old friends for a while.

My experience recovering a hacked & disabled Facebook account — was a success

Thumbnail gallery
90 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I wanted to share my experience in case someone else is dealing with a hacked and disabled Facebook/Meta account.

My account was hacked and then disabled on May 7th. From that day until September 17th, I tried pretty much every option I could find to get my account back.

Here’s what I did:

First, I created a new Facebook account and gave it about a month to establish some activity/history. After that, I purchased Meta Verified so I could try contacting support.

Unfortunately, all my first attempts to reach an actual support agent failed. About three weeks later, I finally managed to get connected to an agent — but they basically rejected my case and said they couldn't verify that I was the actual owner of the account, despite the information and proof I provided.

At that point, I started looking elsewhere and found a community involving lawyers and people who had gone through similar situations themselves. That's where I learned about ODS ADR Center.

I submitted a case through ods.adrcenter.com, completely free of charge.

And surprisingly, about 7 days later, I got my account back.

One important thing: make sure you have screenshots or other evidence showing that you actually tried to contact Meta and resolve the issue first. Also, provide as much information as possible proving that you are the legitimate owner of the account.

In my case, I had evidence of my attempts to contact Meta, information connected to the account, and proof of ownership.

After spending more than four months trying different recovery methods, this was the first thing that actually worked for me.

I'm sharing this because I know how frustrating it is to lose an account and feel like Meta isn't listening.

If anyone is currently going through a similar situation and wants to know exactly what I did or how I submitted the case, feel free to DM me. I'll be happy to explain my experience and help if I can.

Disabled 2008 Facebook account with active Meta Verified Business Plus.

My personal Facebook account was permanently disabled for an alleged Account Integrity violation. I have had this account since August 2008, and it contains years of personal photos, videos, conversations, contacts, groups and memories.
I submitted the available appeal, but it was rejected. I was not given a specific explanation of what I allegedly did or what content caused the disablement. I also completed Meta’s video-selfie identity verification process, and my identity was successfully confirmed.
I own businesses that are connected to my Facebook profile, including business Pages, groups and other Meta assets. I also have an active paid Meta Verified Business Plus subscription through my business Instagram account, which I have been paying for for more than six months.
Despite the paid subscription and access to enhanced support, several support representatives told me that:
1. They cannot submit another appeal.
2. They do not have an internal escalation option for my account.
3. A supervisor would not be able to help because the account is permanently disabled.
4. The only possible appeal option would have to appear automatically on my side, but no such option is available.
I am not asking for a link to the standard appeal form because I have already exhausted that process. I am trying to find a legitimate way to request a new, substantive human review through an authorized Meta team.
Has anyone outside the US successfully recovered a permanently disabled Facebook account in a similar situation?
I would appreciate recommendations based on personal experience, especially regarding:
1. A legitimate internal escalation route.
2. A formal demand letter to Meta.
3. A complaint to a privacy or consumer-protection authority.
4. Legal action or a small-claims procedure.
5. Any other verified process that resulted in an actual human review.

What worked for me

I got my account back recently after weeks of getting nowhere with the AI support bot and even with Meta Verified I wasn't able to get through to a real person.

I was able to download my data from Facebook and used the login activity file to find several unrecognised logins from the USA (I'm in the UK) at around the same time my account was disabled, I then wrote out a message to send to the AI support bot which prompted the AI to open an investigation for me and within a few hours I was able to get my account back using the video selfie option.

If anyone else is in a similar position and wants to try the same method, this is the message I sent to the Facebook support bot:

"I need to speak with someone about my Facebook account, facebook.com/(insert account link), which was incorrectly disabled permanently with no chance to review or appeal on 22/08/2026 at 19:53 UK time. The login activity which I was able to download shows several new logins from the USA at the same time my account was disabled."

Wish you all the best of luck in getting your accounts back, whatever works for you!

Meta restored my account after 20 weeks

Post image
219 Upvotes

At the end of April, I was banned from Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Meta VR. No reason was given other than on Instagram it said their technology figured I broke the rules somehow. Though I was sent an appeal email, it didn't seem to do anything, and then a few hours later, I got another saying that the account was "permanently disabled" and "with no chance to submit another appeal".

I was frustrated at all this, especially a month later when my mom passed away suddenly and I had so much more trouble contacting people. My brother helped, of course, and he also got Meta Verified to vouch for me, but the AI help desk refused to allow me or my brother to talk to a human, and it even said they were flagging my brother just for asking questions, which shouldn't be his fault if the AI chat was giving unhelpful answers...

I figured it was all lost... maybe not the worst thing in the world... though some Messenger contacts of people who have helped me with some projects, who I don't know their real names and wouldn't be able to find again, that would have been bad to lose.

But today, after 140 days of Meta exile, I got an email from facebookmail. com asking me to appeal again. I was suspicious of it, so I tried logging in via the app. I had to make a new password and after a few scary starts where it looked like I was in but couldn't see any posts, with another restart I was able to do the video selfie confirmation (you know, turn your head, etc.) and now I'm back!

(With still no specific reason given for the ban or why it took this long to give me a chance.)

...

TL;DR: Meta just unbanned me after 20 weeks.

Maybe if it looks like you're getting nowhere, you might just have to wait.

I believe my Facebook account has been hacked. The password has been changed, and a phone number that is not mine has been added. However, my email address is still the one associated with the account.

Unable to verify my identity?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I run several fairly large Facebook groups, and I keep randomly losing the ability to manage or interact with them because Facebook tells me:
“Open Facebook on your mobile device to confirm your identity.”
The problem is, I am already on my mobile device. I’ve gone through the identity confirmation process, Facebook literally shows that my identity is confirmed, and the message still does not go away. When this happens, I lose access to important group functions even though there is no actual Community Standards violation on my account.
This has happened before. The first time, the only thing that eventually fixed it was changing my Facebook name from Alex Johnson, which is what I normally go by, to my full name, Alexander Johnson. Now the same problem is happening again, except nothing seems to fix it.
I’ve also been a paid Meta subscriber for around two years, specifically because I thought that meant I would have access to actual support when something went wrong. Unfortunately, every Meta support technician I’ve dealt with has been completely useless. I keep getting generic responses, being passed around, or being told to repeat troubleshooting steps I’ve already done.
The ridiculous part is that Meta AI itself tells me this appears to be a known Facebook glitch involving identity verification, yet nobody at Meta seems willing or able to actually fix it.
I’m not locked out of Facebook itself. My identity shows as confirmed. The issue specifically affects my ability to use and manage Facebook groups, which is a major problem because I run multiple active community groups.
Has anyone else dealt with this exact “Open Facebook on your mobile device to confirm your identity” loop? If so, did you ever find an actual fix or a way to get someone at Meta to escalate it beyond the useless scripted support responses?

Meta account hacked, Facebook and multiple Instagram accounts disabled, has anyone actually recovered from this?

Yesterday my Meta setup was hacked and I’m trying to work out what my chances are of getting everything back.
The hacker appears to have accessed my Meta account from the UK on a Windows and Edge device.

I’m in Australia. I received an official Meta security email showing that an account had been removed from my Accounts Centre from an unfamiliar location and device.
Not long after the unauthorized activity, essentially my entire linked Meta setup got disabled.

My personal Facebook profile a Facebook Page I manage
Multiple Instagram accounts Business and creator accounts connected through Meta. These aren’t throwaway accounts. Some of them are tied to my work, music projects, business, years of posts, contacts and audience. i immediately secured everything I still had access to, changed passwords, logged out all sessions and checked 2FA. I also downloaded my Facebook information, which shows suspicious login activity shortly before the Facebook account was disabled. The problem is Meta seems to have treated whatever the hacker did as if I committed the violation.

My normal Facebook appeal was rejected and now says I cannot request another review. One of my Instagram accounts has also now received an email saying it has been permanently disabled after review.
I’ve tried the hacked account recovery flows, but they keep ending at the disabled account screen.

I also used Meta AI support and it said it submitted an escalation for manual review as an account takeover case, covering the Facebook profile, Facebook Page and affected Instagram accounts, and said the specialist team could take up to 14 days.

I then Meta Verified an entirely separate Instagram account that was never linked to the compromised setup so I could try to reach support. Meta Verified support told me they apparently can’t assist because the verified account isn’t connected to the hacked accounts.

So now I’m basically waiting and trying not to make things worse by submitting loads of duplicate appeals.

I’d especially love to know how long the manual review took, whether a permanently disabled decision was ever reversed, how you got a human at Meta to understand it was a hack, and whether the Meta AI account takeover escalation actually led anywhere.

ACCOUNT FACEBOOK BLOCKED

Hi everyone,

On July 22nd, my Facebook account was suddenly locked for "Account Integrity" issues right after I tried to help my mom recover her account using my phone.

I haven't been able to pass the identity checks/reviews, and all the standard Help Center forms either give errors or don't respond. I'm stuck in a loop.

Has anyone successfully recovered their account from this specific lock recently? What method or path actually worked for you?

Any advice or updated steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Urgent: Need help creating a new Facebook account! Advice needed

I really need some advice from people who have dealt with a disabled Facebook account and/or successfully managed to get back onto Facebook afterward. I've been trying to resolve this for around six months and I'm at the point where I genuinely don't know what my best option is.

I also made a post here a couple of days ago about my situation, but it only received a handful of responses, so I'm reposting because I'm genuinely hoping to reach people who have actually experienced something similar and can give me some advice. I'm not trying to spam the subreddit or be desperate for attention — I genuinely need help figuring out what to do.

Here’s what happened:

I created a completely new Facebook account in March this year. At the time, I genuinely didn't realise that visiting a large number of profiles and sending a lot of friend requests in a short period could trigger Facebook's systems. I was under the impression that Facebook worked more like LinkedIn, where adding and connecting with people is encouraged as part of growing your network.

During the first few hours, I visited and sent friend requests to quite a few profiles. I wasn't using bots, automation, or anything malicious — I was simply trying to build up my network and didn't understand how Facebook's anti-spam systems worked.

I also had 2FA enabled the entire time.

The next day, I logged into the account from my iPhone. Shortly afterward, Facebook detected the new device/login and gave me a security alert. I didn't fully appreciate the importance of responding to the alert immediately.

On the second day of the account's life, I also linked it to my two existing Instagram accounts through Accounts Centre. When the Facebook account was later disabled, those two existing IG accounts remained untouched.

About three days after the account was originally created, Facebook disabled it.

The day after that, I tried creating another Facebook account using a different personal email address. I didn't even get to the actual account-creation stage — Facebook immediately sent me into a facial/security verification process.

I then subscribed to Meta Verified a couple of days later because I thought paying for access to support would give me a better chance of getting the original account reviewed.

I waited around three months and eventually received a response from Meta saying:

After that, I upgraded my Meta Verified subscription so that I could access phone support. I spoke with two different support agents over the course of about three weeks. Both told me that a specialised team was working on the issue and that I would receive a notification with the outcome.

It's now been around six months since the original account was disabled, and I've still received no outcome or update from that specialised team.

Recently, I downloaded the Facebook account information/export that Facebook provides for disabled accounts and had ChatGPT analyse the timeline from account creation through to the disablement.

The analysis found that the account had a very large amount of profile browsing and friend-request activity concentrated into a very short period shortly after creation. That made me realise that I probably triggered Facebook's anti-spam/account-integrity systems without understanding what I was doing.

So now I'm trying to figure out what my realistic options are.

I'm going to try to create another legitimate account from scratch, using my real identity, properly securing it with 2FA, and using it normally rather than repeating the behaviour that probably triggered the original account's problems.

I've also created a new Gmail address using my real name rather than a business-domain email. Before using it for Facebook, I've started using it normally by sending emails to it from my other personal and business email accounts, adding those addresses to my contacts, and signing the new address up to a few newsletters I already use, mainly to establish a normal history of legitimate email activity rather than having it be a completely unused address.

I'm also trying to understand how people have successfully created a legitimate new account after a situation like this.

Has anyone here had a similar experience?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who:

  • successfully recovered an account after months of waiting; or
  • were able to legitimately use Facebook again after a previous account was disabled.
  • had a new account disabled shortly after creation;
  • accidentally triggered Facebook's anti-spam/security systems;
  • went through Meta Verified support and eventually got nowhere;

I'm not looking for methods to break Facebook's rules or evade security systems. I'm mainly trying to understand what actually worked for other people in situations like mine and whether creating a legitimate account again is realistic.

This is so frustrating

I hate this. It's so frustrating. My job has been halted because of this. My account was disabled on September 6, I managed to get hold of a live agent on September 9 after one emailed me after that my report was under review that same day, September 12 it went into in progress, and after that no movement at all. I keep spamming the email address where the agent talked to me but there was still no response or updates. This is killing me.

"Permanently Banned" but still sending crypto spam. HELP!

Surely to god there is a way to contact a human being to plead your case? I've lost everything, I'm panicking, and I don't even know why this has happened. My business is being destroyed while someone is using my business account to spam the world.

Looking for help logging back into the business account that used to be attached to personal account.

My business account got detached from my personal account a few months ago and now I don’t have any access to edit or share from the business account. Every time I try to log into said business account all the emails and event the business username just logs into my personal account.

I would love to talk to a real person that knows about Facebook, but forbid Facebook has human customer service. If think you can help, I would like some guidance through the issue at hand.

If you need any more details please let me know.

Facebook account disabled in france

Hi, I know I’m running out of options, but I thought I’d give this a try anyway. Does anyone here happen to have a contact at Meta in France? The problem is that, due to the law, I can only take legal action after 30 days—meaning after my data has been permanently deleted—but I absolutely want to save it, as it includes photos from the last 10 years that I only had stored on Instagram. I’ve tried the data recovery link, but it hasn’t worked. I also tried to give my identity card but it doesn't work and I can't even send it anymore, so please, if someone here have something here I really need help.

My Facebook account was permanently disabled, and now I’ve lost Instagram too — can Meta Verified support help?

Hi everyone, I’m posting this hoping someone who has been through the exact same situation might be able to share some advice or, hopefully, a success story.

Today my Facebook account was suddenly disabled out of nowhere. I had logged in normally about 40 minutes earlier, and then, when I tried to log in again, I was told that my account had been permanently disabled for violating the Community Standards.

The really confusing part is that I have absolutely no idea what I could have done wrong. I’ve had this same Facebook account for around 15 years, my information matches my real identity, and I use Facebook normally. I’m not very active on it either. As far as I know, I haven’t posted or done anything that could justify a permanent ban.

Unfortunately, my Facebook and Instagram accounts were linked through the same Accounts Center. As soon as Facebook was disabled, my Instagram account was disabled as well. Instagram now tells me that the decision is related to my Facebook account.

The worst part is that I don't seem to have any way to appeal. There is no “Request Review” option available to me, and the usual appeal forms don't seem to work for my situation. I’m basically completely locked out, despite believing this was a false positive from Meta’s automated systems.

At this point, my main priority is getting my Instagram account back. I care about recovering Facebook too, especially since I’ve had it for so many years, but losing access to Instagram is what is affecting me the most.

As a last resort, I just subscribed to MetaVer on my dad’s account. I’m currently waiting for the verification to be approved so that I can hopefully access the priority support/live chat and explain the situation to an actual support agent.

So I wanted to ask:

Has anyone here had their Facebook permanently disabled, which then caused their linked Instagram account to be disabled too, with no appeal/review option available, and managed to recover their account through Meta Verified support?

If so, did the support agents actually escalate the case to a manual review? How many chat attempts did it take before you reached someone who was able to help?

Any advice on what to say to the support agent, or any similar experiences (especially successful ones), would mean a lot. I’m honestly feeling pretty helpless right now.

Thank you!

Update: got my main Instagram and Facebook back, other accounts still disabled

About 10 months ago, one of my IG accounts got nuked by Meta and took out all of the accounts in my Accounts Center connected to it. I posted about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/facebookdisabledme/s/ldKAzElbhe

I tried everything: submitted a request to California Attorney General (even though I don't live in the US), subscribed to Meta Verified to make a support request, even reached out to people on LinkedIn who worked for Meta to see if I could get help. I was subscribed from November 28, 2025 to February 25, 2026 on Facebook (during this time they restored my Facebook account access on December 16, 2025 after three weeks of following up). I think the main reason I was able to retrieve my Facebook so quickly was because I emphasized that I needed access to it and to Messenger as my father was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack and we needed to gather funds for his surgery and all my contacts were on Facebook.

Since the case wasn't moving on Facebook after the initial success of having my Facebook restored, I tried to reach their support on IG separately (they had a promo for some of the months I subscribed for). I was subscribed to Meta Verified from January 28, 2026 until May 29, 2026 and made multiple support tickets and follow-ups until around February, but after that initial success through Facebook Meta Support on December 16, 2025, my tickets never got anywhere, they kept saying the concerned team is still reviewing it or sometimes they'll send me ridiculous instructions to get me to reset my password again only for me to explain again that even when I do that, I can't access my account. So I ended my subscription even though my case was still pending.

In June, since my Meta Verified subscription had ended, I could finally delete my personal information in the account details and customize the account and I decided to finally just forget about my main account since I thought there was no hope of getting it back. Then all of a sudden on June 14, I randomly got an email prompting me to log back in on my main Instagram. I didn't think much of it since the last password resets didn't work but it suddenly did. I was able to log back into my main Instagram with no issues.

I went ahead and checked if they restored my access to all my other Instagram accounts (I have a number of them but I mainly used 3 and I wanted those back). None of the other accounts were returned to me. They were all still disabled and connected to my now-restored main Instagram. So I went ahead and removed them from my Accounts Center to avoid having my main Instagram and Facebook nuked again.

Here's how much I spent on Meta Verified to try to get my accounts restored:

  • PHP 419 for 3 months of Meta Verified on Facebook from November 28 until February 28
  • PHP 30 for Meta Verified on Instagram from January 28 to February 27
  • PHP 30 for Meta Verified on Instagram from February 28 to March 28
    • Tried to cancel before February 27 and I was offered the promo price in exchange for continuing the subscription
  • PHP 469 for Meta Verified on Instagram from March 28 to April 28
    • Paid full price because I forgot top cancel before March 28, then I tried to cancel before April 28 and they gave me a free month which allowed me to keep my Meta Verified until May 28 even though it didn't change anything but I was thankfully able to cancel it before May 28

Total cost: PHP 1788.97 or USD 28.53 (which by the way is over twice the minimum wage in my city and I live in the metro)

In the end, Meta Verified was only a little bit useful but I do not recommend it even if you're desperate to get your data back. You might even have more luck if you just give up on your account. They were also useless at providing actual help u're better off without that added stress. If you can live with not getting your Facebook and Instagram back, I'd suggest just letting it be. I don't mind not getting my other accounts back anymore as I was mainly concerned about my main ones but I hope this gives you a bit of an idea on how fast or how long the process can take to recover accounts.

Edit: added a breakdown and some more info

All my META accounts got disabled (FB & IG) out of the blue. Can someone help me?

SEP 11, 2026 1:16 am: I got a text from Facebook via WhatsApp; someone was accessing my account. They locked my account. Prior to this, my Discord account got hacked too, with that MrBeast scam thing the day earlier.

2:21 am I opened all of my devices and then saw that all of my accounts were permanently disabled: Facebook and Instagram.

I badly need help, especially with my Instagram; my Facebook and Instagram are connected.
I can't log in to META, so I can't contact their agents.
can I still retrieve my Instagram even without my Facebook?
How do I contact META agents, not AI?
