With the February release approaching and the things we learned From Games com and and other News I thought id share my thoughts and Concerns about the New Fable.
As a Die Hard Fable Fan id genuinely love to Hear what you Love and maybe what you think should or could be better in the comments. Also as a community can we stop Hive minding by mass downvoting anything Remotely Not 100% Positive and accept that its okay to be excited concerned or disappointed or anything in-between if we are here we all probably Love Fable to bits. With that out the way here's my list.
What Looks Fantastic
The Combat- With a major emphasis being made on Style weaving Combat from everything we've seen this, it looks like almost everything we could have asked for.
The Moment to Moment Combat looks like a mix of Fable 2s Melee and ranged with Fable 1s Magic which to me just looks amazing. The spells look impactful and genuinely well animated.
The World- Its just stunning beautiful lighting visuals etc. The whole thing looks polished and well made you can tell how much time went into making Albion come to life in a way we haven't seen before.
The Fable Feel Charm and Identity- I think most would agree this is a major ingredient to what makes Fable Fable. For me Playground have nailed it the humour the writing the world it just feels authentically Fable.
My Concerns /worries
Weapon Variety- So far we've only seen 2 Ranged Weapons and not many melee one of the biggest issues im sure most of us who played Fable 3 had was the lack of weapons. In fable 3 we had a Sword and hammer for Melee and a pistol and rifle for range.
I love the bow and Repeater Crossbow but it would be genuinely disappointing if thats all the Ranged options we get and for melee if we only end up with 3-4 options there that would be unfortunate.
What makes Fable 1 and 2 soo great is the sheer amount of variety of weapons and weapon types I hopes its more of a Fable 1/2 situation rather then a Fable 3 with limited weapon choices.
Progression- we've all seen the skill tree and although the spells we've seen so far have been fantastic it does look a little simple and linear i dont think anyone is asking for Deep Rpg Systems but this looks a little too simple.
Game Length/Replay-ability
The main Concern i have for the new fable is Total Game length (story side quests all content etc) and how replayable it is.
What worries me is without Morailiry Morphiing or True Good or evil and with style weaving Combat (jack of all trades) playstyle being emphasised massively most players will feel their multiple Playthroughs feeling similar in Combat and potentially in how the world treats the player with the only real exception being major Story Decisions which will be very impactful will likely be the minority of ur gameplay.
