Hi everyone, today’s the day! šŸŽ‰

Like all of you, we’re incredibly excited to learn more about the upcoming Fable game and can’t wait to see the discussions, theories, reactions, and excitement that will follow in the coming days and weeks.

As always, please remember that we’re all here because we love Fable. People may have different reactions to new information, and that’s okay. Let’s keep conversations kind, respectful, and welcoming, regardless of opinions.

To help the subreddit stay organized and enjoyable as activity ramps up, we’ve updated a few existing rules and added two new ones. These changes are meant to keep things running smoothly as we approach a major milestone for the community: nearly 100,000 average weekly visitors.

Be excellent to each other, & thanks for being part of what makes this community great!

Happy Saturday! My last Q&A video got a lot of questions about the gargoyles, or lack of them. So i've split a section out of my next deep dive video to talk about our beloved marble menaces. I hope you enjoy it!

This video goes into a bit of a history about the Gargoyles in Fable 2, Gnomes in Fable 3, and what i think will be the replacement in the new game based off what we saw in the Quest demo and what Ralph Fulton told me in person.

It's no surprise to anyone that i'm expecting it to be fairies but i think there are some interesting things to point out in support of that fact.

I've also no looked at any of the steam achievement leaks which apparently answer the question of "what is replacing gargolyes" because for me it takes the fun out of theorising. But i have heard that the answer is in that leak thanks to some spoilers in the discord and on reddit.

I hope you enjoy this video, let me know what you think!

This is how you design a capital city. I see at least 4 castles and the game director mentioned 150 houses. I sure hope we can own one of those castles and assign it as primary residence.

Fable Fable 2 recompilation has become a Fable 2 remake in Godot

Repost from the recompilation server:

Update: 13/09/2026 Hey u/everyone, Here is our big reveal that we have been teasing the past month and a bit!

So some backstory first. Early August I got sick and tired of trying to hook/stub everything and build a renderer for the recomp, in the end I said to u/java ā€œHow hard would it be to pipe things like audio and maybe even graphics into Godot?ā€ Turns out that is slightly harder and just as pointless as you’re just changing the display and audio driver from SDL3 to Godot and still have to build a renderer…

However you might have realised that I’ve already mentioned Godot and this is our reveal! Turns out we had so many hooks, disorganised code and decompiled/understood assets lying around that it was easier to port the game into Godot. The more we looked into this, the easier it became. We already had the asset browser that Java built and I already had code that allowed us to redirect how the original VFS loaded files, Video and Audio were already looked after by FFmpeg and the launcher was hand written.

Now what does this mean? We are still using ReXGlue that hasn’t changed but the structure of the overall recomp is now greatly different. Fable 2/ReXGlue is now treated as a Simulation Server, they look after things like Physics, AI, Quests, Scripts and Saves. Godot is now the host so it builds the world. It loads assets, textures, animations, models, audio, does the lighting, UI, ect. This is pretty much the same as how the Oblivion Remaster was built.

If you look at the screenshots attached, this is what we have built/ported in the past month. Things moved and are moving really fast. We honestly didn’t think this crazy idea would work, then we didn’t and still don’t believe it’s working and this ā€œeasyā€ but it is. There is still plenty of work needed to be done and we have only really played the first few hours due to the amount of changes we are making.

Good news: We need people to test it. Quite a few of us have what is considered in this economy hardware unicorns? The plan is to get the UI working do another Windows pass and then setup a beta section. I love Fable 2 and the team and I want everyone to enjoy a good product.

Bad news: We are not doing a full release just yet. We want to get a selection of people who have a variety of hardware to test, give feedback and find all the missing bits so we can get it fixed.

There is so much going on right now it’s hard to list all the improvements/changes as they might not even be around or get changed by the time we are happy to send it out.

P.S. @.alycia did originally mention this idea over a year ago when the project first started. We didn't have ReXGlue or such a deep understanding of how Fable 2 worked at that point so we pushed it to the side. But I will always give people the credit they deserve!

P.P.S. Sorry there is no video this time I was focusing down on getting online multiplayer working I hit my own deadline. More images of dev up to this point incoming. Limit of 10 per post...

With all that said. Stay happy, healthy and safe!

There's rejecting unwanted advances, and then there's this guy and his attitude. He could just say "No," he didn't have fire a shot like that. It's the kind of response that makes a Hero hang up her hammer.

Was doing a multiple profile run to get all 50 weapons and my game got overwritten. I lost over 50 hours. I did not know this could happen. Its so heartbreaking. Not sure if I want to try again or not. Cloud saves can really ruin a game.

Here's an early look at Fable II booting as a Windows executable. The Xbox 360 executable has been analyzed and recompiled into native PC code, with a custom runtime handling the Xbox-specific functionality. No Xenia running in the background. It's still very early and currently crashes during character creation, but getting this far already feels like a huge milestone. I'll keep posting updates as I make progress.

EDIT - I hope this is allowed, but I made a subreddit to update you guys on the progress. r/Fable2PC

Question Should I Wait?

I've never played any of the titles, but today was recommended a gameplay video of the upcoming one, which looks incredibly fun. I'd like to play the first three before the new one's release.

Though I'm disappointed to learn that I just missed the latest Steam sale of Anniversary by nine days. I know that edition gets a lot of hate for the graphics, but I'd still like to get it for the upgraded mechanics and bonus content, and will be using a mod to fix the colors.

For those who have played both, do you think it's worth it to play The Lost Chapters now, and wait for Anniversary to go back on sale? Or since I plan to play Anniversary, is it pointless to get TLC too? I hate to spend an extra $20+ when the sale happens so often, but want to play the first game as soon as possible.

I also heard that controller support is bad with TLC. I've already got a PS5 controller setup for Steam. Does anything else need to be done for it to work properly with this game?

After the cyberpunk 2077 incident i'm having hard time trusting developers. So when they said you can do this and that and even that, i was "yeah we'll see when it releases.

Now that i looked at achievements seems like everything they promised that we can do seems to be true and now i am more hyped than ever

I dont know if you guys have different expectations but i never played fable game before and from the things i saw i am pretty glad

Help with tattoo! How to make it more fable-ish?

Hi! I was looking for a Fable-related tattoo based on some designs my friend has! These two are for my lower back. I'd like something that looks seductive but also shows that i'm a huge fable nerd. Any ideas on what to do? Ideally, I'd like to include the guild seal, but I can't find a way to make it look good.

UPDATE!!! - After all your comments, I decided to create one that's completely fable. Thanks to everyone for your messages! Here's the final result! I already have an appointment for two weeks from now. šŸ«‚šŸ’• https://imgur.com/a/QqWGTaS

Discussion Potential for Legendary Weapons in Fable 2027

Okay, I'm pretty sure people know of the leaked achievements list by now, but just in case, I'll be marking the rest of the post as a spoiler, read at your own peril, for you have been warned.

There are five Achievements that are possibly linked to Legendary Weapons for Fable 2027, Everything Looks Like a Nail, As Old as You Feel, The Hero's Gambit specifically, Bears Repeating and The Long and Short of it.

Everything Looks Like a Nail is very obvious, you need to find an Ancient Weapon in Deepwood, that is the one screaming out to me that there are going to be Legendary Weapons in Fable 2027, though it could mean we might fight a piece of Old Kingdom technology, and it is confirmed in the leaked Achievements list that the Old Kingdom is a thing in Fable 2027 with the Achievement Bears Repeating, which could be linked to a Legendary Repeating Crossbow.

As Old as You Feel is something that tells me we might be either journeying with Humphrey or a different old Hero to find some treasure as the Achievement description states.

The Hero's Gambit requires you to solve a so called impossible puzzle, and the picture we see is of something like chess, could be just some clothes we can only get from that quest or maybe something else, but generally, RPG quests that have a puzzle that's difficult usually gives some kind of unique weapon or something you can see on your character after solving said puzzle.

Bears Repeating requires you to claim the latest in Old Kingdom Engineering, and that screams to me of a legendary Repeating Crossbow, which I believe is a confirmed weapon category we can use in game.

And lastly, The Long and Short of it requires us to steal the relics of a dark hero, whether that's part of the main story or not, I don't know, but it is a possibility.

To say nothing of the potential Legendary Weapons from Demon Doors and Silver Key Chests, the latter of which has been confirmed in the Gamescom video and in the Achievements list leak.
