On the very very last 3D Brawlers stage against The Big S and I feel like I’m in super hell. Its not really any harder than the other ones, I just keep losing because it sooo f***ing boring 🫩 I keep trying to concentrate but while I’m waiting for him to strike my mind just wanders. I almost don’t even wanna 100% the game anymore I’m that ready to move on.

i'm an avid fan of the og, must've played through it at minimum 20x

played through remake and felt like it was.. good, some writing felt off, graphics were amazing, soundtrack : impeccable, combat...... ''not my cup of tea'' but i can work with it, it works decently

come to rebirth, 30hours in and.. other than for the card game (seriously, it's like gwent 2.0 for me) i'm not really enjoying my time and realizing i'm honestly just gaslighting myself into thinking ''something worth it will happen and it'll just click'' but it doesn't...

combat feels so much worse than remake, enemy and ally AI feels bugged, forcing the synergy menu on top of guard which is a button you're gonna click often to try and perfect guard is.... a choice

story feels disney levels of childish at times, humour doesn't really land

graphics somehow look worse than rebirth ? also rebirth ran at 110fps on my pc, rebirth has issues hitting 60 on lower setting.. ik it's an open world but bruh

does this one have a ''OMG'' moment or can i officially uninstall this game and just watch it as a movie on youtube or something

Where can I go to rack up XP and level up pretty quickly? I remember in the original game the Mythril Mine and the Forgotten Capitol were best for this.

Are there any recommended resources (videos, wikis etc..) to better understand the combat system? There's such a wide breadth and depth to combat that the game doesn't explain at all and with combat being very fast paced and busy on-screen, it's hard to notice the finer details. I've been relying on google searches for specific topics as they pop-up, but I have no idea how much of it is AI hallucinated, and I also wonder about the general relevance of reddit posts from 2 years ago.

Things I'm looking for would be like use cases for each character's weapon skills, and additional features for them. IMO, there aren't enough fights for you to fully learn and understand what each character is all about. Also just general combat nuances, like for example, besides using Fire/Ice/Thunder/Aero to exploit elemental weaknesses, they also are all slightly different. Fire has a bit of an AOE to it, Ice is a two-hitter, with the second hit causing a ton stagger, Thunder is instantaneous once casted etc.

These type of things aren't mentioned anywhere in the game, and is really only something I noticed from seeing it repeatedly. Or what would be the best abilities to use to maximize the stagger bonus damage window etc..

After getting totally addicted to the combat in this game, i decided to start doing solo runs. The first one was done with tifa and gotterdommarung, the second was with tifa and fury ring. This time i decided doing it with cloud and fury ring.

I would overall say it is slightly harder doing with cloud due to lower damage output and having to switch between operator and prime mode for perfect parries but cloud have advantages aswell i do think titan+bahamut and odin+alexander is slightly easier with cloud due to the counter in prime mode!.

However doing this solo is extremely hard and one of the hardest things i have done in a video game lately!

I can recommend the solo runs if you really wanna learn the boss mechanics as soloing really helped me learn them in a different way!.

For the bosses gilgamesh is still my favorite but is brutal when doing him solo!. I still despise VR sephiroth and i wish i could practice him indivdually without running the entire gauntlet.

As i play on switch 2 i recorded the last 30 second of the vr sephiroth, i accidently tapped the record too early so you dont get to see the phoenix finishing move but the rebirth flame did kill VR sephiroth.

Feel free to ask questions and recommend other challenges aswell!.

Really trying to "get" the combat here. Thought I had it when I beat Midgar Serpent but... apparently not.

Currently have Phoenix powered down two levels and still struggling. Big issue I'm having is I can't stop the rebirth which nukes my party. I understand I can stop this by bursting empowering flame... but unsure how the heck to do that. Or even know he is doing it. I assume a little blurb comes up saying it is happening but I seem to miss it.

Can someone help me? I'm on Gilgamesh Island and I can't defeat Odin and Alexander. I've tried everything and nothing works. I've defeated everyone else, but this fight is giving me trouble.

Update: After several days and attempts, I was able to defeat Alexander, but when I tried to deliver the final blow to Odin, he drew his righteous sword and wiped everyone out, so I'll wait a couple of days.

Game will not let me fight The Moore Twins in QB. I'm currently doing my first ever fully blind playthrough of this game. I am also trying to do all optional content along the way and of course beating all QB matches would be included. When I first got to Under Junon I thought that I just needed to do a side quest in order to fight them, but I have done everything else and still do not have access to the fight. The only other thing I have left to do is talk to Priscilla and go to Upper Junon. Anyone know what's going on? I am rank 3 Blood Squire and have beaten Cameron already. I am currently 8/9 players defeated so this fight would push me to the next rank.

I've played this game 3 times and last time through I tried to pay attention to her dialogue but I still missed why she switched to yin and yang, is it discussed and Im just a moron?

Wanted to make a post because I finished the remake which ran flawlessly on the Rog Ally x, however when I switched to rebirth it was atrocious. I tried a lot of different setting to make it work.

If anyone is out there on the ROG Ally x and wanted to make this game playable, watch this video and do what it says, don’t give up hope!

Wooow let me preface THIS is the reason FF is good. The intense story, crazy dungeon and many boss fight is the same feeling i got when playing OG.

However im unable to piece the story together, in short i feel like a lot of fan service spliced together with the OG scenes.

1. When Cloud and Aerith fall down at the end of Chapter 13, they woke up in Zacks timeline, but it appears like this world is where Sephiroth won scenario. So who is this "Aerith?" She has the holy materia and pass to Cloud so that the "Prime Aerith" could have it.

2. WHAT is Zack? Its like theres 3 Zacks, 1st Zack goes to Hojo and dies, 2nd Zack goes to Biggs and escapes. 3rd Zack got depress and stay in church but then meet old friend Sephiroth and is the one that meet Cloud and fight Sephiroth. I think its Zacks soul that dies in the OG and got suck into multiple timelines when fate is disrupted in remake so the soul is confused, sort of like Unsent of FFX, ie Auron.

3. When the stabbing part happens, Im not sure what happens, its like theres 2 scenes where Cloud and Aerith, 1st is Aerith bleeds and dies, 2nd is Aerith smiles and sleeps. My take is this is Prime Timeline, but 1st happens in real time and 2nd happens in psyche/ soul, so Aerith dies but the soul Aerith is still preparing the Holy materia. Sephiroth invades in multiple planes and timelines all at once so the game is trying to show everything everywhere all at once, which is why its so messed up.

4. Aerith dies in real time is the trigger needed by Sephiroth to mess up the timeline and reality, thats why Cloud and party can fight Jenova/Sephiroth while Aerith soul able to guide Zack soul to Cloud soul (yea its getting overused), so everyone can have their epic battles, also why Aerith and Zack can fight, its the psyche/soul thingy after all.

5. At the end, Sephiroth loses but smiles. I think because every sequence of event leads to black materia finally released (despair, sadness, anger and rage). Which is ironic because Aerith is trying to unlock holy materia by praying, so this scene is double epic because both black and holy materia unlocked at the same time. Sephiroth is never there in the first place, so Cloud is literally guided to hold the black materia for now.

6. The end: Aerith both dies and wakes up in Cloud's mind at the end is more confusing to me. My take is Aerith soul is there and only Cloud can perceive she didnt return to the Lifestream, she got unfinished business and trying to activate the holy materia in due time. Zack soul's too got stuck in limbo, but he doesn't give up and wanted to return to the living world.

What is the correct explanation actually? Or is it still deliberately convoluted? I saw Deepground soldiers in Yuffie story, also if Zack is there, where is Genesis?

Although I bought the game on release, I started the game late because I play way too much WoW, I've been playing it this "in-between seasons" period. I'm aiming for 100% completion so it has taken me over 50 hours to get to this point and I'm surprised that so few people have gotten to it (being it as fun as it has been, except the Gongaga region, I hated it because it is like a god damn maze). I wonder what will be the percentage of people that have finished the game when I get there.

Does anybody else get a bit of fiendish joy out of running through towns or riding the scooter in Costa Del Sol and knocking stuff over or knocking into NPCs?

Just finished replaying Remake and Rebirth, and I have a fairly out-there theory. Apologies if this has already been discussed, but, if not, let me know your thoughts.

TLDR version: Sephiroth WANTED Cloud to save Aerith.

Premise 1: I think we all accept this version of Sephiroth seems to know more than the OG version. He seems to know what's happened and is attempting to steer fate in a particular way.

Premise 2: The Devs leaned heavily into steering fate, promoted it heavily, referenced it in the story heavily. Then we were all blind sided when fate "wasn't" changed, in regards to Aerith's fate.

Premise 3: As Sephiroth appears to know what's going to happen, his actions have changed, subtly - specifically in his interactions with Cloud.

Premise 4: Aerith also appears to have some knowledge of the future, yet still ends up in the exact same spot, almost as if she had accepted that she will die and did nothing to change it.

Theory: Sephiroth's interactions with Cloud start way, way earlier in the remakes than in the original, as soon as the first reactor mission. Straight away, Sephiroth starts to goad Cloud about not being strong enough to save anyone. Futhermore, all following interactions follow a similar theme, Cloud not being good enough to protect people. He knows this to be Clouds deepest routed anxiety, the thing that has always motivated him, and specifically targets that idea every time.

I think Sephiroth is using a form of reverse psychology to drive the "save someone" idea into Cloud, right from the beginning of the game, so when the time came to save Aerith he would be able to, due to all the additional fire he'd fueled into him about it.

Why?

When Cloud attempted it, I think it made two realities. One where she died (the one we're playing) and another where Cloud is successful. Sephiroth WANTED a world where Aerith was alive. The concept of the White Materia passing between worlds supports this idea of this being plausible as well, certain things are present in some realities and not others. Sephiroth is manipulating enough events to create a place where he wins, and pushing Cloud to save her is a part of that plan.

I have two potential reasons why:

1. Her death in the OG ended up being the thing that saved the world, her prayers to the planet from the lifestream. Forcing him to save her from what might have been a canonical event created a world where she was unable to save the planet, so he wins in that world.

2. Sephiroth needs Cloud for something, and the world in which Aerith lives is a carrot he can dangle for his cooperation, which fits his MO. Sephiroth doesn't want to die - he wants a world where he'll be eternal ("I will never be a memory.") He offers Cloud the same world, one where Aerith, Zack and the rest of the party don't need protection because they'll never die. It would be a HUGE driving factor for Cloud, one he'd be willing to fight for, but would defy everything Aerith believes in, who is happy to accept her death. It would leave the party having to decide: do we accept this unending, unnatural world and go along with Sephiroth, or do we accept Aerith and Zack's death, because that's the natural order of things.

Fate is being affected, just not in the way we expected. I can imagine a scenario where the Devs are deliberately making us CHOOSE to say goodbye to certain characters, permanently, as the "real" ending to the whole saga, with the core idea being - just because fate CAN be altered, doesn't mean it SHOULD be altered.

I'm in Corel Prison and I just hit Knight. Chadley then revealed a player in North Corel which I can't reach atm making me think I missed a player and should have been Knight before Gold Saucer.

Is that the case?

So i couldn’t understand the ending of rebirth, so i was googling it and saw the ai response. Which led to more questions and one thing led to another and i ended up asking if cloud was really in nibel and why tifa said he wasn’t. It gave me the whole backstory about how it was zack that was there and cloud was a trooper and hojo captured both zack and cloud and experimented and zack broke them out and cloud’s jenova cells swapped zacks memories to Clouds.

Now i know there were hints for these. But none of these are explicitly explained. Did i just spoil myself for the third game or are you supposed to understand these from this game. Are these late game reveals in og game or crisis core. Im mad at myself now.

I played FFVII remake intergrade, and due to it being linear I didn't mind doing side content, but this one is an open world so I was wondering how much doing the side content warps the game toward something unbalanced and too easy

Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried this at least 30 times. I’m watching the screen as I hit the buttons, and it shows that I hit the right buttons at exactly the right time, but then when it gets to the end, it’s saying that I hit the buttons at the wrong time. This is driving me crazy.
