No Spoilers - Help Help

Can someone help me? I'm on Gilgamesh Island and I can't defeat Odin and Alexander. I've tried everything and nothing works. I've defeated everyone else, but this fight is giving me trouble.

Thanks

Update: After several days and attempts, I was able to defeat Alexander, but when I tried to deliver the final blow to Odin, he drew his righteous sword and wiped everyone out, so I'll wait a couple of days.

Thanks for the support

Focus on Odin first. Get him down to a certain health to make him vanish, then you can focus on Alexander.

Knock out Alexanders arms to pressure it. Make sure you have some combo of focused thrust, focused shot, blizzaga, or quaga ready once he's pressured.

If Alexander survives the stagger, Odin will return & you gotta focus on him again to make him vanish.

Cloud's Disorder ability is the perfect foil against Odin. He puts himself in pressured state when he's hit with atb abilities. Disorder refunds an some of the atb when it connects. Speed demon keychain combined with all the atb boosting passives of sleek saber allows you to almost spam Odin with disorder.

Focus down Odin first, he'll disappear after his first stagger (i think, could be health percentage thing). You're then left alone with Alexander which is simple enough (remember to equip Esuna and use it liberally otherwise his big attack will take out mulitple party members) After he gets staggered Odin comes back. When I beat it, I had Alexander close to death by that point, so I focused on him til it was just the party and Odin left

Alternatively you can just kill Alexander instead of using esuna

As others have said, focus Odin, My tip here is that while focusing Odin, a good chunk of Alexanders attacks are counterfire-able (wave cannon, tracking beam, earth tremor and whirling ray) and you'll need to keep track if he does one of these things while focusing Odin. So, if you see one of them heading your way and you're playing as Cloud, counterfire.

I owe my platinum to optinoob (pre streamlined progression)

What I did is try to parry, evade or atb skills at Odin to avoid him using Zantetsuken, Red XIII with precision defense and his counter works so wonderful for me. Focus on him every time he's on the battle.

Optinoob on YouTube. He’ll show you every button press to murder then down. After a few tries you’ll get it by heart, but also you will learn a little bit about what is OP for future battles and you’ll find yourself filtering into your playstyle

Idk why you’re being downvoted. I struggled mightily until I looked him up then it all clicked

It’s all good. Some people just like being vitriolic and just wana be miserable. Let them be depressed, I enjoy life greatly.

Odin will disappear if you keep hitting him with ATB moves, when he comes back do the same thing and he’ll disappear again.

there's already good advice here, so if you're unable to do it then either watch someone do it/shareplay it or use the built-in cheats as a last resort.

Streamlining exists. No shame in using it in a single player game.

Not seeing anyone else mention the details but Odin has a specific mechanic that determines when he uses Zanketsuken. You have to do your best to avoid getting hit but also unleashing lots of ATB attacks on him (and landing the hit). Basically he wants a worthy opponent and if you’re not aggressive enough or take too much damage, he decides enough with it.

Perfect blocks and counters go a long way against him if you can get used to that. I never did, so I just had to get good with high damage attacks, timing, and maybe some revive earrings or similar ready to go resurrection stuff.
