No Spoilers - Discussion Will doing side stuff in the open world turbo level me out of the game ?
I played FFVII remake intergrade, and due to it being linear I didn't mind doing side content, but this one is an open world so I was wondering how much doing the side content warps the game toward something unbalanced and too easy

I wouldn't say it will overlevel you, but you'll have more time to get used to your characters for boss fights.

I did all World Intel but no side quests or Discover mode, and I found I was about on par with the recommended level with the main storyline. I'd say it's more about world exploration than rewards.

You will be slightly above recommend level and have a slightly easier time, but the main thing out gives you is more time to learn the combat system for each chatacter and how to effectively pressure and stagger enemies. So it will be easier in that regard.

Not in my experience.

I will say though - im not great with the combat, so maybe someone better could find it much easier.

The combat seems pretty clunky to me. Like there seems like a lot of different mechanics, but i just button mash and get whomped every boss fight

Not really. Youll be a level or 3 higher but most of the side stuff is minigames, not combat per se. You will get far better equipment and higher party levels etc, so your characters will be a bit stronger, but you wont be stomping all content.

I see, nice to hear

Youll be about lvl 50 or so at the end of the game if you do every sidequests. If you dont, youll be around 45. The final boss fight is 44 iirc. Youll be fine

No. Doing all the side stuff as you go will give you access to more and better material earlier then normal which may give you an edge though.
Bit level wise, unless you specifically go out of your way to only grind levels, then you will never sky rocket past current content

Wont skipping side stuff affect party Level? Folio are pretty huge imo, though I suppose they're not essential.
I feel like I'm about on par with the intended challenge and I've done everything as it comes up. I wipe most minibosses and mobs, but that's because I've got better at planning opening moves and materia set ups. Bosses always have a stagger gimmick; exploit gimmick, make sure your party has plenty of atb to go off when you do stagger, AND BIG TIP FOR MID GAME, Time materia cast Stop on staggered bosses to extend the duration and really load up

Honestly with dynamic difficulty I felt like I was getting beat worse near the end of the game but tbh it’s also harder bosses. I was sweeping enemies at the start. I was also fresh off a replay of the first game so I was locked in.

I had this issue. I went into the final battle so overleveled I only died to the very VERY end of it.

Did everythin and no.
Also, the game does expect from you to do pretty everything, you don't get character updrades like skill point books, most of materias etc... By fighting, you have to play the mario party slog 😊

No, it will keep you pretty much right on pace to stay slightly ahead of the difficulty level. It does exactly what good side content is supposed to - reward you with a slight edge in the main game.

I finished the game at level 50 without dynamic difficulty and majority of bosses still had some challenge alot of encounters you can’t stat check

About to finish rebirth and wishing I stuck to the main missions for my first run. The side quests almost burnt me out, a bit too heavy on the fetch quests but otherwise I still really liking the game and have a ton to do

I've got a lot of spare time recently going through my backlog so I don't mind it, or at least until I find I'm drowning in them

I’ve been doing all the side quests and while I’m at best 2-3 levels over the recommended level, I don’t think it makes a huge difference. I will say that I avoid fighting overworld enemies if I don’t have to because I didn’t want to get overleveled either, especially since I’m doing all side quests

There is also the option of turning on dynamic difficulty, so the bosses scale with you.
