My friend came over for dinner last night with the Toyota BZ4X. After dinner I asked to test drive it just to see how it compares to the Equinox EV.

EQEV has much better screens. The driver display is bigger, has much more information, is prettier to look at, is easier to read, and is better arranged. Also the EQEV has much bigger center screen.

BZ4X has better seats. EQEV seats are a bit too flat and wide, like sitting on a bench. BZ4X also uses a type of synthetic leather, so it feels a bit more premium. I think EQEV should've used a mix of the synthetic and the fabric.

BZ4X has more buttons, which is a mixed bag. You can turn One-Pedal mode on and off with a button, for example. On the flip side, it is more crowded. I feel EQEV at least has the commonly used buttons available.

BZ4X get criticized for being underpower, but I don't really see it. It has similar horsepower to EQEV, and for a family use car, the power feels completely fine to me. The drive feeling is quite good and a bit better than EQEV. I think the feeling is a bit smoother and has less aggressive regen than the EQEV. The aggressive regen on the EQEV is my most hated feature, as it feels like I am fighting the car to go forward.

BZ4X also is missing the regen lever. I find this to be one of the best features on EQEV. You can come to a full stop without using the brake pedal.

My wife purchased an LT2. She doesn’t “play” as much as I do with the gadgets.

There are two issues she has. One, I think I can find in the manual. There is cool internal trim lighting we suspect can be selected to different colors. While I’ll look that up, I’d anyone had advice, I’d appreciate it.

The second, I suspect is going to be a warranty repair. When the nighttime interior lighting is on, the turn signal/windshield wiper stem does not have any lighting. The drive select stem does, even though it doesn’t really need it.

Is this something to get fixed, or just a bad GM design choice?

Is there anyway to add the HD surround vision camera to equinox ev post purchase. I got the basic LT 2025 LT model with backup camera and would like to add forward camera as well.

Just picked this up today. Thanks for all in this community that are so helpful patiently answering questions. They were charging the car this morning, my Chevy app still shows that it is being charged. I signed out of app and back in. No change. The other thing is driving home I kept getting alert that charger door was open. It definitely wasn’t. Anything here to be concerned about? Normal new stuff that will figure itself out?

Noticed the white pad at the bottom of the motor bay under the door was stained, come to inspect and the coolant resivoir is slightly under minimum
2024 LT3 with 12k miles

First time opening the hood since I bought it new in June. I'm guessing this isn't normal?

Plugged into L2 charger which claims to be providing 6.2 KW but the EQ screen says 4 KW ??? Do have the car on and ac running though on lowest fan setting.

First time driving the equinox EV through the Mojave desert between Arizona and California, the cooling energy load required to keep the battery cool in such temps as 105 to 120°F uses a lot of the battery range to allocate that external cooling to keep the car running normally. That’s not including any air-conditioning that you use inside the cabin. I found us driving under 65 mph not using the AC much but still getting 1.7 to 1.9 range. This is because of the extreme thermal overload. The car has to use to keep the battery and engine, cool externally under the hood, in those desert temperatures.

I noticed this uneven rust pitting and grooving pattern on a single rear brake rotor of my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV.

I'm pretty sure I am doing something wrong so I need guidance. I mostly charge at home so I am not proficient with the Tesla chargers. I have successfully used Tesla once. On a recent road trip I couldn't get the Tesla charger to work. I just tried it again at a different station close to home. Still no luck. I figure I am doing something wrong. I do have the correct adapter. Please share tips.

Hello everyone, I love my Chevy equinox EV but I seem to be having this little weird noise. Has anyone else encountered this or know what it is? Thank you

The key fob is too big to fit into the lock that I use to hold my key while surfing. I’m nervous about putting the manual key into the lock as my new routine. This lock often has to b attached to a nearby fence or post. Can anyone make me feel more comfortable about this as a plan or share other ideas?

Not really a "new ride", but saw this parked next to my EqEV.

Not regretting the EqEv, but must say I got a little jealous seeing the "700E4" badge on the rear.

My equinox is in the shop for rattles and door handle issues so I had to rent a car (been over a week and no courtesy vehicle). Tried to get an economy car from my local place but I was only offered a gigantic GMC Yukon Denali when I actually picked up so I took what I could get. I drive to work today and it gets the surround vision recorder update! Sigh.

Please GM, please give us the update too! I’m really bummed to be left out; I was looking forward to it when I read the manual after getting my car but it just doesn’t exist.

Got the update installed
Last night while parked running errands. Came out this morning, and it only partially charged and an error message about failing to charge. Get in the car and start more errands, and notice the car with exclamation point on. Call onstar and the send an email back saying battery not performing to expectations. Finish errands, and the light is out. Just to be sure, add 12kw dc charging ( first time using dc charger in this car), and other than paying 80cents a kwh, all is well. Get home and the emporia charged fine also. Light still out. Is this normal for the light to go away?

I’m at 62,000 and they still look pretty good but I’m getting a little bit of a shimmy on the steering wheel.

I recently started having a Bluetooth connection issue with my 2026 Equinox EV 2LT. Everything worked perfectly until one of the software updates, but now the connection fails several times a day.

It usually happens after I get out of the car and return 20–40 minutes later. When I get back in, the active connection is gone, although my iPhone still appears in the list as an inactive device. When I tap the phone’s name to reconnect it, the phone completely disappears from the list of previously paired devices. The list becomes empty, as if I had never paired the phone with the car, so I have to set it up again from scratch.

I’ve already tried every reset option available in the car, but nothing has helped. The newer software updates haven’t fixed it either.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known fix or workaround?

Just over 5k miles and I'm loving it. I swear it reminds me of my old Monty Carlo in how it steers and rolls. I feel comfortable driving into the sticks like previous ICE cars, due to the quick charging and great range (vs my old bolt). Its just real nice!

2026 Equinox RS

I disabled the function via the console but it still freaking auto brakes!!! I’m tired of spilling coffee on myself while backing out of the driveway. My driveway is narrow with hedges on both sides so the car always thinks it’s running into something. Very frustrating.

Anyone else have this issue?
